I stayed at the IHOP in Perris this past week during the 4 way/tunnel camp and the TV there gets only one channel, the channel with the Olympics, so if we wanted to watch TV we had to watch the Olympics. Pretty cool stuff though. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller

Everybody puts down the Vegas tunnel cuz the Perris tunnel has wall to wall air, but since you live near Vegas I would say go for the Vegas tunnel. When I got stuck on my level 4 jump the Perris tunnel was not yet finished so I went to Vegas and did coached sessions. For just learning to be stable the Vegas tunnel is fine. And the general manager. Keith is an awesome coach. If you opt for the Vegas tunnel tell Keith that Evelyn says hi. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller

Maybe I just like to live dangerously, but I've had sushi at lots of different places including at an airport. I've been eating sushi for over 20 years on a regular basis and have never once gotten sick from it. So I'd vote to experiment with the new place. Why would a misrouted chest strap not be an incident? I thought if you misrouted your chest strap your rig could come off. Isn't that an incident? Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller

I also have a tendency to float, even with my 13 lbs. of lead and tight slick jumpsuit. When I'm above the formation and can't get back down I will backslide and watch them from a distance. Then when they start to track I just turn 180 and track off in the opposite direction. I've learned to watch others while I'm tracking cuz I've jumped with some really new jumpers who will track in a circle, and also when jumping with a lot of people sometimes people end up going the same direction. I think the key is to watch others as your tracking and look around before you deploy. Anyway, that's what works for me. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller

Birds of a feather flock together and crap on your car. When I'm feeling down, I like to whistle. It makes the neighbor's dog run to the end of his chain and gag himself. If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague. Don't assume malice for what stupidity can explain. A penny saved is a government oversight. Celebrated my 50th with a tandem since it was something I'd always wanted to do. Thought it would be a one time thing, but the tandem jump was so awesome I wanted to try an AFF jump. Did a level one AFF jump and loved that even more than the tandem. After level 1 they gave me the syllabus for level 2 in case I wanted to continue. Hell yeah, I wanted to do it again, and again, and again! I've never been this addicted to anything before. I love it and don't ever want to stop!

But when I went to Costa Rica I was a little worried about drinking the water so drank beer instead and actually learned to like the local beer, but I can't remember the name. 0:5:0 Different coach for 2 way camp, Jeff Jones, great guy. Though he didn't go up with us, helped us plan our jumps and gave us lots of good coaching. Did 3 jumps with 2 way camp, then a 9 way (total chaos) then a 3 way (which I didn't participate in for long due to my slow fall rate, my turn to fly to the other side, oops, what are you guys doing way down there? Yesterday I was jumping with a guy who had just under a hundred jumps and on our second jump he had a cutaway. I was all concerned about him and asked if he was okay. He was fine, didn't seem shook up at all. I asked him if this was his first cutaway and he said no, he's had a few others. Anyway, he got another rig from the gear shop, packed, and we went up for another jump. When we landed he was under his reserve again. He went to the gear shop to get another rig but they were out of something his size, otherwise he would have gone right back up and jumped again. We were talking to a coach about the possible cause of his line twists and spinning (same thing, both times) and it seems that he may have been dipping his shoulder at deployment causing the d-bag to spin. Since I've never had a reserve deployment it was reassuring for me to see someone with not just one, but two in a row react so calmly. He even saved both handles on the second one. He assured me that when the time comes you just do what you have to do. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller

Yaaay! Congratulations. I work for a contractor with lots of different job sites and they tend to send people in the opposite direction from where they live, go figure. Luckily they haven't sent me anywhere and I've been working a mile from my home for the past five years. It's so nice to work where you live.
