  2. I simple solution for velcro-less toggles is to put the bottom keeper of the toggle through the top of the elastic on the loop instead of the bottom. You will have to be sure your top keeper stays good shape for the opening shock. Hixxx death,as men call him, ends what they call men -but beauty is more now than dying’s when

  7. That is tuff. I had a black pitbull, Kitti, for twelve + years. I had to have her put to sleep in my arms a couple weeks after my son was born. She had hip dysplasia and could use her hind legs anymore. -Hixxx death,as men call him, ends what they call men -but beauty is more now than dying’s when

There must be some bad juju out there for camera flyer's autos. My CRV aka "shaggon waggon" was picked on by a drunk driver in the parking lot of a restaurant last Wednesday. He slammed into it an sped away pissed off after his waitress cut him off. To make a long story short, he was arrested and charged on numerous counts. Now I have a Taurus with unlimited miles for the next two weeks while the shaggon waggon is a mending... 75,000 miles and healing... -Hixxx death,as men call him, ends what they call men -but beauty is more now than dying’s when

  12. If you have direct numbers then, I would like to have them. Otherwise, your assertion is just another marketing thing "I've heard". I consider everything I've heard when my life is hanging under it. I still believe HMA is a good material, otherwise my canopy would be long gone. I think it is important to keep your ears open and recognize its possible limitations and consider those during use. Regardless of what a mfg tells you, it is still your ass on the line or under them... Why don't you give us some useable information, like how many jumps you have on your Nitron and how your lineset is wearing? -Hixxx death,as men call him, ends what they call men -but beauty is more now than dying’s when
  13. Awe, with a packing weight like that, I don't need a medicine ball!!! -Hixxx death,as men call him, ends what they call men -but beauty is more now than dying’s when
  14. Here is what I have on my front risers (sliderstop). It is like a second confluence wrap with the top and bottom sides of the tape turned under on the front riser only about 2" up from the riser's confluence wrap. It is just a little wider than the slider grommet so you can easily pull it over, but it won't float back up. I grab the rear slider grommets first and sandwich them under the front grommets with the sliderstops on the front risers and it stays put, simple and effective. The slider stow I use I made from a hard plastic ball that came off of a bungee that I found in the auto section at Walmart. The elastic cord comes from a fabric store. I took a dremel and drilled a second hole about 135 degrees from the mounting loop for the stow loop. I pull the slider down and wrap the stow loop around the fat side of the ball. Now it should be tight enough to hold it with a few pounds of pressure, but if you pick the rig up by it, it should release (for a cutaway). By adjusting the size of the stow loop, you can make it release easier or harder. Note: I ended up cutting my mounting loop, tieing knots in the ends and super tacking it just under the binding tape on my top reserve flap cover. I did this so it cannot come off and interfere with a regular reserve deployment. -Hixxx death,as men call him, ends what they call men -but beauty is more now than dying’s when

  17. Lay the canopy out and see if the step through is above or below the slider. Then follow Jessica's directions flipping the rig through the lines below the slider if the step through is there or above the slider if the step through is there. -Hixxx death,as men call him, ends what they call men -but beauty is more now than dying’s when
  18. You can usually find nice small chem lights at Party supply stores. I use: one on my cutaway handle, one on my reserve handle, one on the 6-12k side of my altimeter (so it illuminates, but does not block the important side 1-6k) one large one on a riser of the main incase I chop chop and have to do night time recon... -Hixxx death,as men call him, ends what they call men -but beauty is more now than dying’s when
  19. Humm let me see, I night in jail, Repairs to a car, Attorney's fees, Fines, increase in insurance rates for 5 years, sex with a ruthless and obese ex-fiance'. 20. Not that I have seen. I guess it all depends on the diligence of your rigger in assessing the risk. We have a lot of the urethane bumpers in this area. They are quite secure until they start getting chunks taken out of them by the slider. However, I have seen clear plastic bumpers too which I would tack from the getgo. -Hixxx death,as men call him, ends what they call men -but beauty is more now than dying’s when
  21. Anytime I pack a reserve with bumpers, I tack them... Bumpers on mains get considerably more wear and exposure though, so I think it is equally important to tack them. Unless of course you like to supplement my income...

  23. One quick note on slider bumpers. It is a good idea to run a loop of tack cord around the bumper so it stays on the link. I have seen a malfunction were a worn bumper slid up the lines and fouled the slider from coming down. I also use a slider stow on my front risers. It works great and everything still goes away when you chop it. -Hixxx death,as men call him, ends what they call men -but beauty is more now than dying’s when

  25. I have HMA on my Xaos. Precision recommends 600-800 jumps on the suspension lines and 300 on the lower control lines. My canopy has about 225 on it and virtually no wear. A side note on HMA. It is UV sensitive. I have heard that 4 hours of direct sunlight can weaken the lines up to 60 percent. So, I keep mine out of the sun. But, I've always packed indoors or in the shade anyway... -Hixxx death,as men call him, ends what they call men -but beauty is more now than dying’s when
