I don’t support the loss of inocent lives under any circumstance. I do understand why it is done in the case of the Palestinians. It is the only way they can fight back as you know they do not have the sophisticated military equipment that Israel has. They hit what they can. They simply do not have the options that the Israelis have. Also Israel has along history of killing civilians. It is hard to follow the rules when the stronger side has no regards for any rules. Instead of watching a Hollywood movie watch a few documentaries and read a few diaries to see in what conditions the Palestinians are forced to live. I recommend Death in Gaza.. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

I recall in 1948 that all the arab countries started the war. and Darius, you can't keep claiming it was all palestinians land... look at the long history of the region and you'll see at some point it was everybody's land. The UK, the Jews, the arabs, the romans can all claim it was their land. Then why is it that the Israelis took peoples land and made it there own country. Notice I am not saying it should be Muslims land or Jewish land all I am saying is the people who lived there before should be able to keep there land and not moved to select areas of the occupiers choosing. Trust me the Palestinians didn't get the beachfront properties. You are also forgetting that the majority of Israelis did not live on that land they took it overabout 58 years ago. The Israelis gave you an option. Either you live under our rule or get out. Not nice considering they were talking to the people whose land they were taking. You assume that whatever is not "courageous" is therefore "cowardly". Doesn't follow. (BTW, there are no llamas in Afghanistan or Iraq. They use camels, and they hardly ever ride them.) Combat pilots are not cowards, even though they may not be facing the same threats as ground troops. The ground troops don't consider them cowards, and are damn glad to have them on our side when needed. This coming from a former ground troop who has had his bacon saved by "cowardly" pilots flying at 10,000 ft. Oh, and I also respect the courage of a suicide bomber who attacks a military target. They are not cowards either, even though we may not agree with their position. This also coming from someone who was nearly killed by a suicide bomber. - Dan G - Dan G Will you be happy with not as brave instead of coward? I know in Iran's case many did it for there home. I am sure when you are faced with the Iraqi solders who were known to rape and destroy every place they took over you will do it for the simple reason that your family could be next. Also one thing to remember is leaders will say anything to rally the troops. We speak of national pride, Yellow ribbons, and in GW case what god asked him to do. I the Middle East where there is not too much diversity it is easier to rally people by using their common belief in God. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

Really? Please explain. In Afghanistan there isn’t much shooting back the danger is little in comparison to other war situations. If your flying at thousands of feet above the grounds shooting a guy riding a Lama it is not really considered a courageous act is it? I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

Being a martyr is a humane thing. We just call it different things. Our troops who have died get Walls that have their names carved in them. Military families have lots of pride in their sons and daughters who put their lives on the line. They might not go in to it thinking that they will be giving up there lives for there country but when the and if the time comes they will do so. The big difference is in for example the Palestinians case they do not have any other weapons, they don’t have a military supplied by the United States so they have already goon threw all other military options. They are left with two options. Be oppressed daily and not fight back Be oppressed daily and fight back by any means necessary Peace which would be a great option can’t be considered unless in includes Justice for both sides. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

tell me something, would it be ok for the iraqis to shoot that 13 y/o kid? He was in a war zone as uniformed solder and was already being fired upon. The story goes that they could not stop the Iraq tank so he decides to grab a bunch of grenades and rush the tank. which he did. As for you ur? if is it ok for the Iraqi tank to shot the 13-year-old boy? I know what you are trying to do and it is a good comparison acutely. The Iraqi tank was an invading force just like the Israeli tanks, and they were or are in Israel's case both where they do not belong. So no the right thing to do would have been for Iraqi tank to turn around and go home and not to invade someone’s land and shoot it’s citizens. Why the automatic comparison to things that happen in the U.S.? I think the comparison to show that we have crazy fucks that gather in numbers every where from every race. Not exclusively and Muslim thing And the implication would be that there are actually people who don't know this kind of stuff isn't just a Muslim thing? Unfortunately there are people who feel that way. I am sure you have seen on here people with the mentality of kill them all or they are the problem. It is all the Muslims fault. Looking at our self and our own citizens who do the similar things is a good way of staying grounded. We all have bad people we all have good people no matter what race religion or color. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

Hey you making fun of my thread Bill comeone you know you loved that title. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

I don’t like the guy never have I know his past way to well. What was really interesting was the interpreter. He didn’t change the answer but he made the President sound much more sophisticated then he was. I noticed that right away. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

Michelle you are right about that interview but he didn’t do anything that we don’t see our own president do or any other politician for that matter. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

Like what DARIUS??? That all JEWS Should DIE? Where did he say “all Jews must die”? Is that yet another BS statement? Things i do agree with There is more but let me guess you reply will be "YOU HATE JEWS" I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

Is it me or to all those sighs look like they were written by the same marker. I say photo shopped. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

I agree whenever Inocent lives are lost it is a bad thing. As for the mothers allowing their sons to be martyrs it is a cultural thing. I guess the best comparison would be the Kamikaze pilots. I can only speak for Iran I know there is huge patriotism in Iran. I often joke with my dad. I call him the dad from my Big fat Greek wedding except he think every thing came from Iran first and not Greece LOL. As for a 13 year-old I agree it is sad but in many parts of the Middle East the age where they consider a male a man and a female a woman varies with what we view as reasonable in the United States. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

I didn’t watch it but will read your link The original Suicide bomber or Suicide squid were developed to clear mine fields in massive attacks. They weren’t considered suicidal individuals but Martyrs and heroes. There was no other choice Iran was not only fighting Iraq it was fighting the whole world. Everyone including the United States was supporting Iraq even after they used Chemical weapons the killed thousands of Iranian civilians. Iran was surprised attacked and lost some territory in the beginning of the war but was able to take it all back. Under the conditions Iran was facing the only thing it had was manpower and they used it in any way possible. I think any proud citizen of any country would choose die or fight to the death when their country is being invaded. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

Well he is saying he is folowing what god wants him to do. Iran is a theocracy so there is a lot of talk about god and religion and all that. Fuck the US has a government that has separated Church and state however our president has no issue in saying he was meant to be president because god asked him to. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

Are you trying not to see the facts Bill and everyone else is pointing out ? This remind me of Steven Colbert Turthiness report. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

When he first was elected I was very disappointed, but in that interview he made valid points many that I agree with. I was also that he said you must love all people, that diplomacy is the way not threats and bombs. I agree with all those things. War used to be the last result now it seems it is the first option. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
-
I don’t like him very much but I didn’t see any thing in that interview that would point to him being certifiable do you? He answered the questions like any Politician like our own president does. Where did he say I am the 12 Emam? I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

You know that Palestine is not in Europe right? As to why everyone is getting along No one is holding any ones land. There aren’t American tanks in Germany destroying houses, We aren’t holding Berlin and claming it as New Washington, and there aren’t any Germans that are in are prisons being tortured. How many German children do we have in our prisons? Oh yea not to mention the BIG point. Germany started the war. What did the Palestinians do? They had their land taken and they want it back As for Lame rationalization look in the mirror………………oh yea and open your eyes.
