America has been around a lot less then a thousand years. And again I welcome any additions you wish to make. So if you feel like there is any thing you would like to mention or add please do. But I ask you please keep it factual. Not Anti-US or anti-anyone but simple facts. Not propaganda but just a time line. We should not deny the facts if we wish to understand the real reasoning behind our actions and the actions of others towards us. We can stay here and call people names and have highly emotional debates however that will not get anywhere. IMHO- our actions have a direct link to why we are hated, and targeted. If we do not deny the questionable things we have done then we can learn from them. If we learn from them and adjust our policies accordingly not only will we have more peace in this world, but our own citizens will also be safer. Do you feel you are immune to this? Again the reason for the post is to educate people who have only heard one side of the story. We do not have many people from the Middle East who frequent this web site but we have many who do that there only exposure to the news is western news, which frequently leaves out one side. Again if you feel there are important contributions that the US has made to the Middle East that you want to mention please go head. If you can not think of anything I would look at to why you so blindly assume that we are so kind with out any real evidence. Have you ever been to Iran? Where do you get your information? I am speaking of real life experience in Iran what about you? I am not saying Iran is like the United States, but believe it or not ours is not the only way people want to live. Once again I repeat, as you seem to have missed what I said. In Iran woman are allowed to drive, Go out alone, Go to School, We have woman doctors, engineers, scientist, and on and on. All you have to do is go look at how people live. Maybe that will not be even enough. Many view the woman in Iran who are wearing Hejab (which is basically a dress code for men and woman) might seem to you as oppressed, but that is because your mind is closed and your eyes are blinded by what you see as normal. I am not saying all Iranian woman want to wear that I am sure there are some who would love to walk around naked, however as a culture the majority decides what is considered decent. Also the culture is different. Many things that have become normal in this country are still considered oddities and negatives in Iran. If you have a single parent in Iran it is considered something odd specially if they were never married. You might go on and on about how one parent is enough and blah blah blah that’s fine. That is the way things are done here. However it is not done that way there. You and no one else have the right or should be so blindly arrogant to assume that you have the answers or that your culture is the right way. All you have to do is look at problems we have in this country to realize we are not perfect. It would be great if instead of judging other cultures and the normal Muslim bashing you seem to enjoy you would concentrate on our own social problems. You seem to be very sensitive to woman’s rights that’s great. How about ask the president that you are very supportive of why he is allies with the biggest oppressor of woman’s rights Saudi Arabia? There is also test in the bible that states woman should be silent and not allowed teaching men. We can quote text from all religious books if you like, however it does not change the facts that in Iran woman do half to follow religious laws just as the men do. All people who are considered adults, which in Iran is after puberty must not show parts of there body that would be considered sexual. You opinion if this is a stupid law or backwards is not an issue. Different culture and I know for a fact that many of the Iranian women I have talked to wouldn’t change polices with American woman EVER. That’s their opinion. However the issue is if Woman in Iran are being oppressed. I remember in his TV interview Ahmadjonny said he doesn’t understand why the Palestinians have to pay the price by having Israel formed on their land. Why is Israel not in Germany or Europe? Which I believe is a legitimate question. As for Israel here is another place where we are directly responsible for causing deaths then we wonder why we are hated. Let’s see. Iran is the Islamic republic of Iran. Don’t get any more Muslim then that. Woman drive, go to school (more females in universities then men), go out alone, and have the same rights as men. Oh yea and in my Koran and religion class which was only mandatory for Muslims we learned the Koran is filled with riddles way beyond it's time. Like if you count the words day and night they will add up to 365, and if you count the word Men and woman they are mentioned 124 times each. Meaning that men and woman are equals. We believe or at least the Muslims I have been around that men and woman are not similar but are equals. If you study all religions side by side and take the original text. No religion has admitted women are equals to men but Islam. We do have countries (the ones we support Like Saudi Arabia) that actually manipulate the Koran to oppress woman, but that is not just a quality of Islam but unfortunately the faith of many religions.
