  1. Hey Cornish, you don't understand how the end of the world works, you buy a bunch of food and even more guns and ammo, then you wait on some secluded property until gay's can marry(because thats when you know the apocalypse begins) and shoot anybody who would like some of your food, you know just like Jesus wanted...

  3. How can you be so utterly oblivious to the fact, that his pursuit of a college degree is not the problem but his access to a weapon. You must be trolling in the last sentence because you cannot equate killing and education... Nobody can be that ignorant. Edited to add: Please ignore, I obviously fed the troll.
  4. Finally a Christian... Thanks for replying. I wonder what else may have been mistranslated... What about Jesus saying to forgive your enemy's and to not pass Judgment ? As was stated before, all accounts of Jesus are second hand but this is none the less a very important part of Jesus' message. You as a Christian can't possibly use the "Everything about Jesus is second hand" defense because consequently you could not believe anything written about Jesus... Thats exactly why democracy's have an independent Judicial and Trial system. And you are entitled to fair trial. If this is really the case is another debate...
  5. I totally agree with you, yet this would be a discussion about the American judicial system, which is a joke IMHO. But I still want to hear a Christian say that he approves of the death penalty, then I want to know why ?
  6. Then this would turn into a discussion about the quality of the American prison system. This is not what I'm asking. I want to know how Christians rationalize the death penalty with their beliefs. And if that guy was officially mentally handicapped he should not be in prison at all but in a mental institution. edited for spelling.
  7. What a blatantly stupid remark. So you think it's better to kill him ? Are you a Christian ?
  8. Locked him up for life. If he is officially handicapped in a mental institute, if not a prison.
  9. How can a nation that is so proud of it's "Christian" values have the death penalty? Mainly supported by conservatives with "Christian" values... The Bible very clearly states, Thou shall not Kill, Jesus is very clear about forgiving you enemys and to not pass judgement. While it is necesary to protect society by locking people up I cannot for the life of me see the rational of the death penalty wanted by so called Christians. Could the Conservatives/Pro Death Penalty Christians please elaborate.

  11. Nobody finds anything wrong with a 10 year old having access to a gun ? We need more guns, the fathers girlfriend could have defended herself if she had had a concealed carry permit...
  12. I agree it's lame.... sorry about that.

  14. It works in all areas of life. Denial of sin provides comfort. I thought about this for a while, this makes absolutely no sense in this context whatsoever.... Where do you find sin ?
  15. They look for guidance and stability with their families and friends just like believers... Sometimes they may see a therapist or a psychologist. They take their problems into their own hands to improve upon their situation just like anybody that has faith, the motivation just differs. I have yet to see Jesus come down from heaven to take a drinkers booze from him. The drinker stops drinking by his own decision. If he needs the fear of hell to stop drinking, then this is nothing but a psychological trick. The Atheist will stop for sole reason to improve his life and the life of the people close to him. I really don't think that reading the bible will make humanity as a whole any better as hundreds of wars, genocide and murder in the name of the bible have proven again and again. I am sure that faith in the bible has helped some people improve their lives, it just pains me to see that is essentially due to fear. I wonder why you think that those are mutually exclusive.....
  16. Dude, if you really want to understand this stuff then start studying particle physics. Billvon cannot explain this all to you. You are currently using a computer or a smart phone to use the Internet and you don't understand every aspect of how that technology works but it undeniably works. Just because the universe is not simple enough for you to understand does not mean that a god automatically is the answer. Is it not a strange confidence that the number of religious people in a given country or state is exactly anti proportional to the level of education....
  17. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self-organization There are plenty of theories for self organization. Thats what this is about a postulate of how random energy and matter can form complex systems.

    Rig cleaning

http://www.mrclean.com/en_US/magic-eraser.do These have worked really great for me. I have white shoulder tuck tabs so they get grimy from packing. The magic erasers got them nice and white again... They have worked with small grass stains as well.. You don't have to wet your rig or take anything apart.
  19. Where the hell is the topic of evolution philosophical ? The question that remains is where and why it started. There is absolutely nothing philosophical about it. One day we may find the answer to how life started or not. If so good, if not evolution still happens. To deny that is being foolish.
  20. Jesus was a result of the belief that his was the end time. The Jews during the roman rule were all waiting for a messiah, the heir of David if you so will. There where a few messiahs back then by the way, and if Paul hadn't gone all crazy for Jesus, Jesus would have been just another zelot who was crucified by the romans to keep the palestinian people in line. I don't understand the whole passion thing anyway, Ron maybe you can give some insight. Why was Jesus death so special ? He was killed and tortured in exactly the same way as normal thiefs and murders. But somehow Jesus suffering saved humantiy. The suffering of everybody else was of course deserved or in vain or whatever. Realising this when I was 8 years old was my first step to becoming an atheist since I believe all people are the same and the suffering of one person can not be that much important than the suffering of someone else. But you will say: it's different because Jesus was God's son somehow, born normally raised as a caprenter. But somehow you know that this dude was Gods son. Do you really think a couple of guns and stash of food is going to help you through the end times? If you are so sure about an existing afterlife then why do you not embrace the end of time or death as however it may come to you, since you as a believer you will surely go directly to heaven.... Why try and survive if the end of time has obviously arrived...
  21. Even though I don't believe in the whole Jesus/God/Bible nonsense I still think there is plenty of evidence that some form of sprirtualty exists, or better yet a desire for something greater. Every culture on earth is seeking some form of enlightment or for an answer for what happens after death. It just starts to get dangerous when you blindly follow ridicoulous beliefs without questioning them. Like everything else on earth sprittuality and beliefs are subject to change. There is nothing wrong with following your path to enlightment, the problem begins if you think that your path is only one and you start denying other peoples quest for happieness by denying them rights and privileges based your belief system. Why on earth are so many people against gay marriage, do you think God's gonna come down and smite you with his vengence for letting gays marry ? WTF People ?
  22. That does not answer his question. The teachings of Christ are highly debatable. There are four official versions of his story and at least 2 unofficial ones... How do you decide which ones to believe or to follow ? What exactly is the grace of God ? I've heard that a bunch of times but I simply do not seem to understand the concept....
  23. Isn't it just brilliant how you use Bible verses, from the Proverbs mind you, to substantiate your stance. As if the Bible held any sort of authority over anybody that simply believes that it is a nice collection of well written folklore.
  24. You are not going to be jumping in those conditions.
