    That's because it's been talked to death. I'm not seeing anyone "raging" about white liberals. Changes are being made but no one has yet figured out how to maintain order without laws, and law enforcement presence. Meanwhile CHOP throws out an absolutely ridiculous list of demand that don't have a chance in hell of working. Might as well throw GND in the mix for all the chance it has of happening. Mahre hit on an angle few talk about. Like most of these bits it's funny because it's true. But I also think people are taken advantage of because of it.

    I see this much like the Occupy Wall Street fiasco. People will soon tire of living this way and go home.

    You'll have a very difficult time hiring police who are not allowed to be armed. What is needed is more training and a more thorough psychological review. Also, getting rid of the mechanism that protects them in these situations. I'm wondering if you need to match the race of cops assigned to an area with the racial makeup of said area.

    In this situation it's obvious the choke hold would have helped but they had all this guy's info. They would have caught up with him in a day or so.

    I beg to differ. Setting up what appears to be a sovereign state is secession. But let's not get bogged down with all of that. If the government wants that area back they have the tools to get the job done. Watched a vid yesterday from inside CHAZ. It was peaceful...reminded me of the "teach-ins" of the 60's. I'm warming to the idea of reinventing the role of police.

    I wasn't aware of that. But communal living has been done many times. It usually fails.

    It's a nice communal idea...but it's already been tried. Sharon Tate ended up dead. The demands? I understand where they might be coming from with some of it but they're really in no position to demand much. They'll need hostages for that.

    I've not said what happened to George wasn't wrong. We all know it's wrong. We're talking about fixes and in order to understand how to fix it you must first understand what's wrong. You won't do that from behind a computer screen. Do some cops have an attitude? You bet. I think they grow tired of risking their lives for those who don't appreciate them. Do some citizens have an attitude? You bet. I think they grow tired of being policed and would much rather be left to their own fates. How about we try that for a while?

    You're more than free to head on into L.A. and make it right. I said in another thread that I don't know what the answer is. I don't know how you change it. It's easy to point to the problem...much more difficult to offer a solution.
