I thought packing might have been the issue but it cracked me 5 times in a row. While I have to believe it might happen once or twice due to packing I don't think 5 times is possible. While I was having a rigger look at it I jumped another Tri they let me use which was packed by the same person...it opened really nice. Can't tell you how it feels when you turn and burn thinking "maybe this would hurt less if I didn't pull" Other thing is when I bought it used there was a pocket sewn on the slider. I originally thought that it sniveled way too much so I had it taken off. In retrospect it was just old school me not used to how long ZP canopies need to open comfortably. I had it re-installed and the last jump of the day was a much slower opening although the canopy turned almost 360 degrees while the slider was still up. Please don't dent the planet. And I'll walk to your crater and whisper in your dead ear, "How'd you like it?" Beautiful. I was searching for just that. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

Just got my new Racer. The D bag is alot smaller than the one I was using. Canopy is a Tri 190 and it was slamming me all weekend. It's on its way to Aerodyne for a look. Seems these snappers started whne we put the canopy in the new container. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

Saying what you said is just wrong. Those of us who have seen it are taking offense because it's disturbing to see, the ripple effect is huge, we've seen the effect on friends and family and don't ever want to have to go through that again. And its not just skydiving. Any person who wants to see death needs to be examined by a qualified professional. The people you see who walk around in solemn reflection understand the risks they take and have respect for this sport and its potential. I seriously doubt you have respect for much of anything including yourself. You describe it as a "rush" like some drug. This post is so disgusting I can't even continue. Please don't dent the planet. I was talking to some friends about spotting being a "lost artform". I used to really enjoy doing that. I had power over the pilot and he did what I said Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

Not to be an ass or anything but that incident was in Ohio and it was Lake Erie. Bunch of people in a B-25 I think. Anyways, I think with modern equipment the idea of jumping "through" clouds involves solid cloud cover where you can't see the ground at all. I've gone through some nice puffies but I wasn't engulfed for more than a sceond. I wouldn't trust a GPS to spot me through clouds. The reason you wouldn't want to be around clouds is more of an opening in clouds scenario. Happened to me and a friend a long time ago. Turned and burned right into a cloud. Dumped in the cloud only to see my friend doing the puppet dance about 25 feet away as we came out of them. Fortunately he was facing the same direction and I bounced off his backpack and flew away. Scared the crap out of both of us. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

Back in the Mid 80's the four brothers i started jumping with got togehter for a four way filmed by the late Chuck Erne. As far as we know there have never been four brothers in freefall at the same time. Dan, Tim, Paul, and Sean Hagan. Dan is the only one still active and jumps at Cleveland. Anyone else think the daughter's post jump demeanor was a little strained? Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne -
Hmm...never really looked to see if there's a pocket. Frap hats are warm and comfortable. I know, I know...they offer almost no protection. Funny tho, I see many tandem students wearing them. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

Each actually paid $8.33. 25/3. Then they got the $1 back which put them at $9.33. One of them actually paid $9.34. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

Both times I'd lost the pud I used the "try for it twice" rule and went for silver. Finding the bridle isn't as easy in the air as it is on the ground, and these were the days when dumping at 2 grand was the norm...so time was of the essence. For me the change was based on the fact that it's just more comfortable and alot easier to grab the hackey than it was to grab the pud. The old design only allowed for getting 2 or 3 fingers around it, and you really had to make sure you had a good grip on it. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

Left hand for cutaway, right hand for reserve?
airdvr replied to veter_'s topic in Safety and Training
We don't know that for a fact yet. I hate to see anyone advocating changing a system because of a possibility. It took years to get the current setup to be standard issue on all equipment. Back in the day one of the most common causes of a fatality was changing gear...specifically changing the deployment method. Student would jump a hand depoly system for the first time but revert to told practices and pull the red first (where the ripcord was on their student rig). When they realized what they'd done they would then deploy the main only to have it seperate at line stretch. Sometimes there was enough time for silver... Let's not speculate on how this latest one occurred. I believe it had very little to do with a cutaway cable not clearing the housing. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne -

1. You know what an english racer is... 2. You remember when the song used to fade out so the track could change... 3. You know what "3 on the tree" means... 4. If only you'd kept your first car... 5. Your Mom used to send you to the store to get her smokes... 6. Banana bikes... 7. Your main had a "diaper"... 8. Wrist rockets... 9. You remember when radial tires were all the rage... 10. You had to double the dollar amount shown on the pump because they were'nt designed for gas over $1 a gallon Please don't dent the planet. The basic difference is whether you feel comfortable that you'll be able to find and grab the pullout handle. I made most of my jumps with a pullout system because I liked the positive aspect of opening my own container. I also had 2 reserve rides because I lost the handle (pretty sure the modern design makes that pretty hard to do). My new rig is a throwout because it's just more comfortable and a much more staged deployment method. Either one works good and comes with their own set of problems. Please don't dent the planet. From my POV no one is ever "ready" for children. I don't know how old you are but nobody can make those decisions for you. My kids are the most important people in the world to me and their love is unlike any other I've ever felt. I hope you get the chance to experience that some day. And your lady freind was just jealous of your lifestyle. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
