  1. That pic has always bugged me. What was the occasion? And of course they had to pick THE most gay looking one Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
  2. According to this they pray 5 times a day! If I own a factory I'm not shutting down my production line 5 times each day so someone can kneel facing Meccah. http://www.islam-usa.com/pray1.html Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
  3. Hmm...new book. Don't suppose they want to sell any of them, do you? This quote tickles me. "Did Dick Cheney ... purposely tell me things he knew to be untrue?" Armey said. "I seriously feel that may be the case...Had I known or believed then what I believe now, I would have publicly opposed [the war] resolution right to the bitter end, and I believe I might have stopped it from happening." That's a definite maybe. And had I known my wife was banging her boss I would have publicly opposed it right to the bitter end, and I beleive I might have stopped it from happening. Until Armey is willing to testify as such in a trial I call media whore. All it will amount to is more he said/she said BS, and alot of book sales. Why are you so willing to believe this over Barry talking about delaying troop withdrawals. And why would he wait to tell everyone about it in a book? Please don't dent the planet. 5. Oh Jimmy, where are ye when we need ya? http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1432305389840677523&ei=Ss_PSNriDqfi-QGtn73JAg&q=jimmy+stewart+and+sac&vt=lf This reverses previous Air Force decisions in the 1990s that moved these items to general commodity management. Changes made by the Air Force after the Cold War were in response to the defense downsizing of the 1990s as well as national leadership priorities. When reorganized in the 1990s, the Air Force dispersed command authority and responsibility for the nuclear mission Since the early 1990s, the nuclear enterprise has lacked a four-star general responsible for overseeing and advocating for nuclear mission resources Far be it from me to politicize, but I'm having just a bit of trouble recalling who was POTUS during most of the 90s Please don't dent the planet. 6. You understand the meaning of the word, "could", right? She first issued a blanket denial and agreed to cooperate with the Senate investigation. She then modified her denial and said there were contacts, and she could see how the serial nature of those contacts could be misconstrued, but she insisted they were innocent. She was then tapped as the VP candidate, and the investigators said that development would not change their schedule, which was on track to conclude prior to the Presidential election. Predictably, she then threw a private attorney into the mess, started claiming there was a jurisdictional problem with the investigators she'd already agreed to cooperate with, and she stopped cooperating with them. Something stinks, and it seems to be coming from her general area. Blues, Dave Sure. It was a hramless statement...for which he later apologized. There might be something there, maybe not. I think the timing of the report (Oct 31) is a little stinky too. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
  7. There's a lot of truth in what you've just written, which is why it's interesting that you've chosen as your sig line a quote from someone who made a career out of orchestrating illegal and unconstitutional acts in order to pervert the course of democracy on behalf of the president. I happen to agree with his statement. And the perps were caught and properly flogged, so the system worked as it was designed. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

  9. I don't think we're fucked if either candidate gains office. I believe both men have the best interest of the country at heart, that both are honorable men, both believe theirs is the best way. We have a tendancy in these forums to be either/or. And regardless of what the candidates promise to do, the framers made certain they have limited powers. As I said before, if you can see past all the political BS flying in from both sides which just serves to muddy the issue, my choice will be based more on who I trust to lead the country. 10. And therein lies the problem. People will always vote to improve their situation, or at least go with whomever promises to improve their situation. If my situation is benefitted from more entitlements, I'll vote for whomever promises me the most. Fortunately the people who benefit the most from that are in the minority...for now. 11. That’s a cultural issue. If it becomes more prevalent I am sure some concenssions will be made. I remember in my college we used to get all the Jewish holidays off as well, and that was a community college. I understand that some people tend to have a fear of Islam but believe it or not being Muslim does not take away any rights that others have enjoyed in this country. Democracy is great. This is in no way a snide remark. What do they do at school? Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

  13. Because there is an R in front of her name. Thats enough of a reason for the left. If I'm not mistaken, this investigation was already under way before she was nominated. The original date by which they were supposed to wrap up the investigation was some time around the last week of October. Not a good time to be dropping a verdict so they moved the date forward. If this is politically motivated with regard to the Presidential election then I'd have to say that I'm impressed that the Obama campaign new months ago that she needed to be targeted. But more to the point, on what grounds is she saying that she doesn't have to cooperate with an investigation that was already in progress? That's got Rove written all over it. I love how French had already made up his mind on September 2nd. French said Sept. 2 that the results of the investigation could constitute an "October surprise" for the McCain campaign. 16. Specific quotes please. I didn't see her refusing to answer questions. I saw Gibson not accepting the original answer, which is his right. Watch any interview with any political figure and see how many times they don't even come close to answering the questions put to them. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
  17. I beleive this is #55 in your handbook When your adversaries make statements that ring true, seem logical or appear to have merit, ask them completely irrelevant non sequitur questions in an attempt to evade the issue and derail the conversation. If that doesn't work, announce with all due grandiosity that your opponents refuse to answer your questions or give cites, therefore, they cannot support their assertions. This ploy of course won't work with people who can think, but, it will bring Elitist Leftwing Liberals and the lunatic fringe out of the woodwork to jump on your bellicose, bungling bandwagon. 21. Edler is hardly a credible sociologist. I'm pretty damn sure he's done no actual studies on the subject. Maybe not research in a clinical sense, but he's studied the problem. Other crucial issues not included in the ten, writes Elder, are the myth of global warming, that smoking isn't as bad for you as the media makes it out to be, and that minimum wage laws hurt the worker. While these views may sound outrageous, Elder presents a good case for each issue that is worth examining, with detailed tables and sources. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

  24. You guys sure do stick together. I guess talking about Ike's response to a French request for troops wasn't clear enough. I won't bother retracing the thread. President Eisenhower dismisses the conventional air raid and the nuclear option... I'll have to consult the handbook on this one. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
