I can think of a bunch that I know...basically anyone who works for employers that neither provide healthcare nor pay enough for their employees to purchase it privately (while still meeting the lowest tier of Mazlow's hierarchy of needs). Blues, Dave I agree that those people need help. The ones that truly want insurance but can't afford it. There's not 46 million of them out there though. I also agree that something needs to be done about folks with pre-existings that get shut out of the system. Helping those 2 groups and a couple of others I'm not thinking of right now won't and shouldn't cost 1 trillion dollars and require a 2,000 page document. Please don't dent the planet. I was reading an article in the local paper this morning on the 10 year anniversary of their first win as an expansion team. No RSL then? BTW...congrats on recognizing the problem and reacting. Back in the day before rigs were standardized this was a common occurance when switching from a ripcord deployed main to a hand deploy. In the heat of the moment the student would revert back to pulling the main ripcord. Unfortunately the cutaway handle was where the ripcord used to be. Upon realizing their mistake they would hand deploy the main only to have it immediately seperate. Many times they spent the rest of their lives trying to process what had happened. Cruisers and ricers both have their place. I've ridden both types. Put me down in the category that says a V-Twin sounds really nice, unless it's short straight pipes. That's overkill. This is consistent with what Bill says all the time about people bitching about social spending and not bitching about military spending. It's ok to spend as long as it either helps you or you agree with it, otherwise it's theft, larceny, hiway robbery and just plain wrong. That's exactly the quandry. As a rule people will be supportive of those things they percieve as helping them and vice versa. I know this will help the new home construction industry but I'm not crazy about Uncle Sam handing out rebates. The larger problem lies with folks who aren't so much concerned about those things. There was a thread here a few days back about 47% of the population not paying income tax? I didn't look at it and I don't know whether that's true but those folks, as a rule, will always be against anything that requires them to pay taxes. That's a problem. Please don't dent the planet.
