  1. All good stuff. I have a hard time equating a slight rise in temps with the current crop of "climate disasters" being spouted by the media.
  2. Not the point I was going for.

    covid-19

    Which one were you? :)
  4. I support choice. I'm concerned that it might be the wrong choice. I was born in 1958. I was adopted in 1958. Pretty sure I wouldn't be here had I been conceived in the past 40 years.

    covid-19

I must live a charmed life. Almost 2 weeks ago I spent 6 hours in a car with an unvaxxed who popped positive 2 days after.
  6. I'll have to go back and check that out.
  7. OK...but you aren't able to equate that scenario to climate change. sometimes it doesn't snow. Grass dries out and winds blow.
  8. I made no claim. I simply pointed out that fires aren't always wild. That might be the case here, might not. One of the things that bothers me all the time is how certain you all are that it couldn't be anything other than climate change.
  9. I didn't realize there was already proof that it wasn't arson. Care to show me where you got that info?
  10. Happy New Year you filthy animals
  11. Not all wildfires are "wild". https://www.nytimes.com/2021/11/19/us/california-wildfires-gary-stephen-maynard.html
  12. Down to the Banana Republics Down to the tropical sun Go the expatriated American Hopin' to find some fun Some of them go for the sailing Brought by the lure of the sea Tryin' to find what is ailing Living in the land of the free Some of them are running to lovers Leaving no forward address Some of them are running tons of ganja Some are running from the IRS
  13. Funny satire but I couldn't help but notice that the actual message was climate change.

    covid-19

I think we're quickly approaching a time where we must acknowledge that Covid will be with us for a long time, if not forever. If you're concerned about it killing you there is enough info out there to educate yourself on how to avoid contracting it...basically shelter in place and get vaxxed. If you choose to disregard that info then all bets are off.
  15. There's probably quite a bit of difference in how it feels in your hand. I would assume a service weapon would weigh more?

How do you know that still isn't the case? There must be some subset of the left's anti-vaxxers. Consider that those same people would probably never admit their true feelings about the C19 vax.

I like it. We've known for some time that the high speed air tubes are circulating the virus worldwide.

The whole idea of testing needs to be re-thunk. I'm wondering if the wide availability of home tests are creating a false sense of security. Consider the very real possibility that I test negative today. It means nothing more than today I don't actively have Covid. I could have been exposed yesterday...might be exposed tomorrow. According to Rox they are also not nearly as accurate as a PCR. I see Phizer is developing a Covid pill. I can almost guarantee the percentage of vaxxed individuals would increase by 10% or more simply because the thought of an injection turns those normally functioning adults into 3 year olds.
  19. How is what I'm saying punishing the mother? There are a multitude of ways to not have a child. If you choose to have a child you bear a responsibility to their rearing. I'm all for helping temporarily where it's needed but once the government starts giving the cash it's difficult to take it away. I know anything I've said here is tilting at windmills. I can't speak to the abortion issue. I seriously doubt Roe v. Wade will be overturned in my lifetime...but that's probably 20 years at best.
  20. If what I said is discouraging breeding the current situation must be encouraging.
  21. I agree with most of what you said. I have one caveat; admit that we've lost most of these kids and concentrate on the ones who haven't yet entered school. Also, stop paying people for having kids. Many of these poor zygotes are nothing more than a pay raise for mom and dad. Take away the incentive. Give teachers the authority to remove kids who are a distraction. Reward parents instead when their kid does well in school. Most of us understand that having the government just throw money at a problem with no means of tracking it's effectiveness is not working out very well. There's no hard and fast solutions but the definition of insanity, you know.
  22. OK...what are those reasons? I have my own ideas but I'd like to hear yours.

    covid-19

I think we need to take another look at the way we're keeping score. The parameters are the same as they were pre-vaccine. A lot of it doesn't make sense anymore. We need different information. Much of this is due to the fact that I'm wearing my Browns jersey to the game Saturday in case I'm needed.
  24. I get what you're saying. My premise is educated individuals open the door to improvement and are less likely to need help. The closest big city school system around here is Cleveland. Graduation rate a tick over 75%. 1 in 4 has no high school diploma. Good luck in a capitalist economy.
