  2. I get that a business would do something like that. The vids I've seen are obviously from a private citizen's car. Maybe we should all do this. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

  7. I'm pretty sure that the Constitution trumps such "specific rules" whenever the two are inconsistent. Pretty sure you've never visited the Tomb of the Unknowns. And clearly you've never read the Constitution. I didn't say this was unconstitutional. What I said was anyone who actually yelled and flipped off the guards at the tomb would feel the wrath of those guards...physically. You can try and figure out whether that's an infringement on their constitutional rights later. First, my reply was to AggieDave, not you. Second, the guards, presumably US military, are sworn to defend the Constitution against its enemies. If they retaliated against someone who was merely exercising their right to free expression, however distasteful the guards might find that expression, they become an enemy of the Constitution and should be punished appropriately, whether that be Article 15 or court martial. I want you to stop and imagine someone yelling and flipping off the guards at the tomb. What do you think would happen? Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
  8. Meh, I don't think making fun of a sign is that wrong. She just chose a poor location to do it. I see it in no different light than people making fun of people who have recently died. This forum and these boards are full of examples of people doing just that. People just get a little extra sensitive when it comes to the military. I for one don't believe she was giving the finger to dead soldiers. Wow. You're gonna have to show me the 'full of examples' part of these boards where people are making fun of others who've died. 11. Oh we have the respect Dr.s thing down. Rox is an RN and her daughter is an orthopod. Any anesthesiologist who thinks sticking a needle is someone's spinal column couldn't cause an infection, serious problems, and possibly paralysis is an idiot. I watched her daughter do residency...brutal. I couldn't have done it and I doubt many could. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
  12. Not really. There are some pretty specific rules surrounding that ground. I'm sure that had she actually screamed and flipped people off from there she would have felt the wrath of the guards. There is a small room that the guards do a last minute check before stepping out. No one can see what's happening...no one. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
  13. Rox has been getting epidurals for back pain for the last 6 months. She went last Friday. Yesterday she had tingling in her arms and a fever. Called the pain management place. Anesthesiologist never called back. She called this morning. He said 'nothing I did could have caused that.' No bloodwork order...nothing. Fortunately she was sitting with another doctor who immediately ordered blood work. What an ass! Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

    Warm?

You said, "few." He gave you more than a "few" yet you seem to infer that as all. No. That's not the case. The list could be quite large, but what would be the point of presenting it here to you since you seem to be looking for loopholes rather than solutions. Can you point me in the direction of a source that details what would need to be done...completely...entirely? Point being I think it would require economic suicide to solve the problem. Warm?

Here's a few easy examples, most of which are pretty painless: Don't drive a large car/SUV when a subcompact will do the job. Don't drive any motor vehicle when your feet or a bicycle will do the job. Combine trips. Buy locally grown food whenever possible. Eat less meat. When possible, use a toaster oven instead of a full size oven. Keep your tires inflated. Use rechargeable batteries. Use LED lighting whenever practical. Turn off lights when leaving a room. Turn off appliances when not in use. Whenever practical, plug electronics into surge protector with power switch, and switch the whole thing off instead of allowing the electronics to go on standby. Turn the thermostat down a couple degrees in the winter and up a couple of degrees in the summer. It's really not hard to significantly reduce one's carbon footprint without significant changes to one's lifestyle. Great. If everyone did this we wouldn't have to worry about AGW? Warm?

Holy sh*t, what a question. No wonder that the US did not sign the Kyoto Protocol. Jeez. Where are you living, on the moon?? When the poster above you starts talking about eliminating population from the planet I don't think someone from your country should be chiming in seeing as how your country attempted to solve AGW before AGW was cool. Warm?

Kind of obvious really, just parse your own question. We can do this several ways, but you know what would actually be the most effective? Reduce the amount of humans on the planet. Now, most people aren't going to find that to be an acceptable answer. Very few people will accept the idea of limiting population, so we have to do the next best thing; reduce the amount of impact people have on the environment by limiting the amount of greenhouse gasses are produced per capita. I know all of that. I want real examples. Because I don't think the solutions needed are even possible to accomplish and maintain an economic structure that woks. Please don't dent the planet. 21. What a convenient broad brush with which to summarily dismiss 50% of the people. Either Category A, or catch-all Category B. I don't expect you to listen - not to me, but to, say, Bobby Jindal, Meghan McCain, Chris Christie and Christie Whitman - who are telling you and your cohort in no uncertain terms: the GOP must appeal to all of the people, not just half of them, and you are self-marginalizing. The GOP pendulum is swinging back to the center, and emulating Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum will leave you an outlier in your own party, hunkered down in your cabin*, wallowing in your own irrelevance. * until the BATF comes to get you What percentage of the vote did Obama get? 23. Debtors' prison was abolished a very long time ago. Bankruptcy allows people and corporations legally to renege on their debts. Not anymore. Now you have to submit to a 'Means Test'. Can't just walk away like you used to. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
  24. John, only you could have a thread that starts with most doctors agreeing on something, and turn it around to the ER docs were idiots in a matter of minutes. Who do you think you are, Mitt? Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
  25. You think the majority of people who voted for Obama are on welfare? Did you vote for BHO? I voted for bHo, and I've worked for everything I've had in my life since I was young, without ever getting any "free stuff" from the government. Make that two of us. I arrived in the USA with $3000, and a rig. Worked in a mail room, then landscaping, then into my career field - never once took a government hand out. Now own 2 houses, my family doesn't want for anything (thankfully), have nice toys, etc. But then again, apparently, I'm just lazy and want free stuff too..... Ian As it should be for anyone in this country. I'm glad you had parents who instilled that work ethic. Many parents here don't bother. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
