  1. Just spent all day yesterday chasing planes. My bitch is more with the airports... Find some way to expedite check-in. It's 2013 for fuck's sake. We can do better ALthough not common people spent 4 hours in lines yesterday trying to get through the disaster that leaving Aruba has become. Everyone knows 3 hours minimum on that tiny island. US Customs, do your work in the states, not on a small island where you don't have the proper facilities. Airlines, leave when you say you're going to leave. Stop rewarding people for being idiots. Exception...15 minutes if there is an arriving flight with passengers connecting. Update your pre-flight mantra. We all know how a seatbelt works. Please don't dent the planet. 2. I was raised with spankings and even occasional whippings with my father's belt. We got paddlings in school by the teachers. I can't recall ever having received this punishment in error. My kids got the thunder hand to the butt when they needed it. Meh. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
  3. I agree. I don't think any politician goes to DC thinking he's going to be crooked. I think he/she soon finds that the old boy network stymies any honest attempt to accomplish anything. Add in lobbyists and you've got a recipe for payola. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
  4. While I agree with much of your post I don't think the problem is us. I have a right to expect my doctor is doing the right things. And my accountant and attorney. I also have that expectation of the government. I don't know about you but I personally pay much more to my Uncle Sam than I do to any of the other 3. Please don't dent the planet. 5. Half way? Paragraph 3 of 7? Wow. I didn't write the article. So I hear you saying the number is even higher. My point stands. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
  6. Guess you've never heard of non-profit corporations. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
  7. http://video.insider.foxnews.com/v/2017365623001/ “It is impossible for 109 million workers (in the private sector) to support 87 million people. It can’t be done.” Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
  8. Watch and see what happens when we try to take it away. The Red States, net recipients of government largesse, will whinge and bellyache and want to secede. Sure they will. The gov't put the tit in their faces and now will take it away. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
  9. You bought yourself a mild recovery with $700+ billion dollars of porkulous. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
  10. When a subway train comes flying into the station it will definitely get your attention.. Given the distance in the pics it would have to be an immediate family member for me to jump in and give a hand. I'm not so sure I would have stood there and taken pictures tho . That was in poor taste to be sure. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
  11. Yep. I get benefits. Since you're so keen on generalizations, why do Republicans want to take benefits away from disabled veterans? I don't know anyone who wants to take benefits away from anyone. Doesn't mean it's not going to happen. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
  12. Right, except a government isn't the same as a business. Running a country is simply not equivalent to running a business. Thanks for proving my point. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
  13. I think that when you take a realistic look at cutting these small amounts, implementation often costs more than possible savings. Just like in business, some operational loss is to be expected, as long as it stays within certain parameters, those are not the most effective areas to be focussing on for a significant net reduction in expenditures. If any business ran itself the way the Government did it would have ceased to exist a long time ago. When you've got this big a problem nothing can be overlooked. The operational loss example only works if you're operating at a net profit. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
  14. Texas is a notable exception...getting shafted even worse than California. Considering it is the government that decides how those numbers play out perhaps you're placing the blame in the wrong spot. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
  15. Yet you use a single person's comments. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confirmation_bias Do you really think those sentiments are solely her own? How many feel as she does?...can't say for sure. Doesn't take one very long to find more echoing the same request. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
  16. According to US Census Bureau data, 49.1% of the US population lives in a household where at least one member is receiving government benefits: http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/05/26/half-us-lives-in-households-receiving-benefits Watch and see what happens when we try to take it away. 17. I guess the thing that concerns me is the growing class of voters who are expecting something in exchange for their support. I don't have the time to look it up but someone said that our republic will fail as soon as the people learn they can vote themselves money. It's later than we think. Please don't dent the planet. 18. well, you identified a single person who feels this way. Now you need to find another 50-60 million. We'll wait right here! I'm sure it's just imported from Detroit. OK, I see we're going to have to start with the basics here - So, that quote still comes from just one person. And that one person isn't even claiming that all the other people voted because they want free stuff. (And I know that Bill can speak for himself, but I believe that whenever you come up with a valid point, then he'll come back with a substantive defence.) So now I guess you'll just start using the Ostrich style of forum debate...no problem. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

  20. I realize when you don't have anything substantive to add or a defense, you attempt to deflect back to the OP. Nice try. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
  21. and it's starting already. Obama was elected by a majority of people who expect the government to give them something in exchange for their vote. Detroit councilwoman to Obama: We voted for you, now bail us out http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/12/05/detroit-councilwoman-to-obama-voted-for-now-bail-us-out/#ixzz2EDNSsGm5 Please don't dent the planet.
