Huma Abedin has been Ms. Clinton's aid for a LONG time (since 2nd term of President Clinton?). If she screwed up, she screwed up. She should know better. Didn't work out well for Nixon either. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rose_Mary_Woods Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

If only it was that simple. The difference in those 2 situations is the intent. I believe the intent of telling the american people about some stupid video reaction was to minimize the political effects of a terror attack 2 months prior to the election. W's failure to act was not a political attempt to mislead. W's 2003 SOTU address was deliberately misleading. As was his "Rose Garden" speech in September 2002. Over 4,000 Americans died as a result of those lies. Try and keep up...we were discussing initial reactions in the days following the event and Obama's attempt to divert to a made up video so it wouldn't look as if we'd had another terror attack. Comparing that to the reaction of W. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

Riots over a shoting turn into free jordans and 40's
airdvr replied to Anvilbrother's topic in Speakers Corner
I had heard (or thought I had heard) that there had been peaceful demonstrations for several days before the anniversary. It would have either been NPR or CBS radio. I can't find it anywhere, so I could be mistaken. What I put up was Wiki so it could be wrong as well. One thing this forum has taught me it's not to believe anything I read, see, or hear from anyone unless it's vetted, and even then I have a healthy dose of skepticism. Please don't dent the planet. I agree about their right to peaceful demonstration. Let me know when that happens. You mean like the ones that occurred for several days before this blew up? According to this they couldn't make it 24 hours without violence. Where are you seeing something different? Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne -
Typical; when you can't attack the message attack the messengerS. Fixed and clarified for you I also took the pooper scooper and filled it up in my yard this morning with the dog logs they left and placed it in the garbage... which is similar to the content found above. Enlighten me...which part(s) are untrue. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

I'll bet most on here don't remember the Bill Clinton presidency so I found this piece to be rather interesting... Memories of Hillary When Bill Clinton was president, he allowed Hillary to assume authority over a health care reform. Even after threats and intimidation, she couldn’t even get a vote in a democratic controlled congress. This fiasco cost the American taxpayers about $13 million in cost for studies, promotion, and other efforts. Then President Clinton gave Hillary authority over selecting a female attorney general. Her first two selections were Zoe Baird and Kimba Wood – both were forced to withdraw their names from consideration. Next she chose Janet Reno – husband Bill described her selection as “my worst mistake.” Some may not remember that Reno made the decision to gas David Koresh and the Branch Davidian religious sect in Waco, Texas resulting in dozens of deaths of women and children. Husband Bill allowed Hillary to make recommendations for the head of the Civil Rights Commission. Lani Guanier was her selection. When a little probing led to the discovered of Ms. Guanier’s radical views, her name had to be withdrawn from consideration. Apparently a slow learner, husband Bill allowed Hillary to make some more recommendations. She chose former law partners Web Hubbel for the Justice Department, Vince Foster for the White House staff, and William Kennedy for the Treasury Department. Her selections went well: Hubbel went to prison, Foster (presumably) committed suicide, and Kennedy was forced to resign. Many younger votes will have no knowledge of “Travelgate.” Hillary wanted to award unfettered travel contracts to Clinton friend Harry Thompson – and the White House Travel Office refused to comply. She managed to have them reported to the FBI and fired. This ruined their reputations, cost them their jobs, and caused a thirty-six month investigation. Only one employee, Billy Dale was charged with a crime, and that of the enormous crime of mixing personal and White House funds. A jury acquitted him of any crime in less than two hours. Still not convinced of her ineptness, Hillary was allowed to recommend a close Clinton friend, Craig Livingstone, for the position of Director of White House security. When Livingstone was investigated for the improper access of about 900 FBI files of Clinton enemies (Filegate) and the widespread use of drugs by White House staff, suddenly Hillary and the president denied even knowing Livingstone, and of course, denied knowledge of drug use in the White House. Following this debacle, the FBI closed its White House Liaison Office after more than thirty years of service to seven presidents. Next, when women started coming forward with allegations of sexual harassment and rape by Bill Clinton, Hillary was put in charge of the “bimbo eruption” and scandal defense. Some of her more notable decisions in the debacle was: She urged her husband not to settle the Paula Jones lawsuit. After the Starr investigation they settled with Ms. Jones. She refused to release the Whitewater documents, which led to the appointment of Ken Starr as Special Prosecutor. After $80 million dollars of taxpayer money was spent, Starr's investigation led to Monica Lewinsky, which led to Bill lying about and later admitting his affairs. Hillary’s devious game plan resulted in Bill losing his license to practice law for 'lying under oath' to a grand jury and then his subsequent impeachment by the House of Representatives. Hillary avoided indictment for perjury and obstruction of justice during the Starr investigation by repeating, “I do not recall,” “I have no recollection,” and “I don’t know” a total of 56 times while under oath. After leaving the White House, Hillary was forced to return an estimated $200,000 in White House furniture, china, and artwork that she had stolen. What a swell party – ready for another four or eight year of this type low-life mess? Now we are exposed to the destruction of possibly incriminating emails while Hillary was Secretary of State and the “pay to play” schemes of the Clinton Foundation – we have no idea what shoe will fall next. But to her loyal fans - “what difference does it make?” -Tom Arneson Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

Both moot and a stupid post. I live on a regular street, no gates. And before airdivr chimes in, the south side of Chicago is NOT in Indiana. Forgive me. You're correct. Looks like several shootings occurred close to where you live. You're my new hero choosing to live in the war zone. Riots over a shoting turn into free jordans and 40's

"Manner of walking along roadway". Getting slapped with 'disrespecting the police' if you complain about the police? It's nothing to do with the law, it's all about money. They ruthlessly targeted the people who couldn't legally stand up for themselves and now they're dealing with the consequences. you missed part of the quote... Meanwhile, nearly 100 tickets were for the most minor of violations: having an overgrown yard or rundown house, playing loud music, parking incorrectly, being out past curfew, displaying a license plate in the wrong way, or walking in the road inappropriately. This last charge, officially listed as "manner of walking along roadway," was highlighted by the DOJ in its report, which cited an example of one man who received a ticket after dancing in the street. The report said 95% of the people cited for this offense in recent years were African-American. so these 7 types of charges (maybe more if there were some oddballs in there) represent ALMOST 5% of the charges you're talking about. So how many manner of walking along roadway do you think we're talking about? 3 charges? 5 charges? Not to mention that jaywalking is illegal too, and indeed the mayor of Toronto got charged with jaywalking in Vancouver a year or two ago (and he ain't black). And jaywalking can be dangerous for motorists and pedestrians. So again, we should just allow people (and possibly drunk or otherwise intoxicated people) to walk indiscriminately on the streets? Or maybe we should just pick them up and put them in drunk tank until they sober up? Oh, but wouldn't that be a violation of their rights? In a police state with a private for profit prison system..... you look for the most mundane things to raise revenue with. I guess that works north of the border now too?? A bit overly dramatic don't you think? Let me explain what happens in any city or town in the US when you receive a citation. You are commanded to appear in court. If you don't appear in court eventually a warrant for your arrest is issued. But in Ferguson not showing up for a court date is SOP. What other option does the legal system have but to up the ante? So what started as a speeding ticket ends up being much worse because the person who broke the law originally was stupid and chose to ignore the court appearance at their own peril. I have zero empathy for anyone who pulls that stupid stunt. I know you really want the legal system to give them a pass. Never gonna happen. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne -

Think anyone will have a cross lighting to mark the date as well ?? No...but I heard they had a pig roast That is for Saturday Afternoon...... but once the sun sets... they will break out the satin sheets... its a tradition for some folk. Let me get this straight; you think what happened last weekend is okay. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne -
Seems like Chicago lost out to Houston, Blytheville AR, and Charlotte this weekend. From a per capita standpoint. When I go to a football game they don't adjust the score based on the size of the city. Ummm - NO. More murders in each of those places than in Chicago even after adjusting for population. Just curious - which do you think is a safer place to live: A city of 200 where half the population is murdered each year, or A city of 1,000,000 where 101 people are murdered each year? How about some real numbers...not fantasyland. In real numbers, each of Houston, Blytheville AR, and Charlotte had more murders than Chicago last weekend. How about a sensible analogy from you. Football scores All football teams have the same number of players. Cities have widely varying populations; NYC, LA and Chicago each have over a million times more residents than Buford, WY. THAT is why sensible comparisons are made on a per-capita basis. I'm sure the 2,619 people who were shot last year in Chicago feel much better about the per capita analysis. How about a per capita comparison on overall gunshot wounds? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3UMKo0Lyd4 Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

Institute for Historical Review ....interesting outfit. Yes...I can see that is an excellent source. Totally plausible...NOT. https://www.splcenter.org/fighting-hate/extremist-files/group/institute-historical-review Founded in 1978 by Willis Carto, a longtime anti-Semite, the Institute for Historical Review (IHR) is a pseudo-academic organization that claims to seek "truth and accuracy in history," but whose real purpose is to promote Holocaust denial and defend Nazism. Once a prominent voice in extremist circles, the IHR has been on the decline, unable to publish its anti-Semitic Journal of Historical Review or sponsor major international Holocaust denial conferences since 2004. The organization still runs its website, where it peddles extremist books and other materials, and hosts some minor extremist gatherings. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
