    Thats kind of where the rubber meets the road with regards to all this. Who is going to pay when every Indian, Pakistani, Vietnamese,Indonesian and heaven forbid African, gets a car. Poor countries and industrial development can send pollution levels off the charts. In the end a long journey starts with one step. What should we do then? I read somewhere a while back that even if every fossil fueled vehicle in the US was taken off the roads it wouldn't have much of an effect. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

    Absolutely, comparing the roundup and deportation of illegals is comparable to the roundup and interment of US Citizens. According to the 14th amendment, anyone within the borders of the US is entitled to the protection of due process whether their presence is "unlawful, involuntary or transitory." Zadvydas v. Davis (2001). EO9066 denied due process to US citizens of German, Italian and Japanese ancestry. Immigrants, illegal or not, are still entitled to due process under the law and constitution. I think you're stretching the 14th a little. The 14th is dealing with born or naturalized. Sure the children born here are considered citizens but not their illegal parents. The Zadvydas v. Davis case concerns detaining illegals past 90 days when no other country will accept them. Not sure why that would apply in this case. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

    I doubt you do. There is something specifically wrong with the Federal government using the National Guard this way. If history has taught us anything, it's that calling the National Guard to enforce policy against the population leads to pretty horrible things happening. Once again your liberal thinking is clouding your judgement. I would consider the population as citizens of this country. That's not what we're talking about here. BTW...I live 30 minutes from Kent State University and have since 1964. I understand the perils of having the national guard doing police work. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
