  1. You forgot "The Cheddar Curtain", the Wisconsin/Illinois border. As in "I hate going south of the Cheddar curtain, but my buddy is getting married in Chicago this weekend" BTW, Yooper is a term specifically reserved the upper peninsula of Michigan. Someone else mentioned it, but most of this list does not apply the Milwaukee area.
  2. I am looking to add a similar event to the Midwest Skydiving League. Can you send me or post some details about how your competitions work?

    4-Way VRW

The formations are at: http://www.vrw4way.com/descriptions/ pick a formation name from the drop down menu, then hit the GO button. The random dive generator is pretty cool too. The PDF is a description of each point, with drawings. Nice tool to have. I think some of the drawings are incorrect. Specifically, the lightswitch block, slots 3 and 4 seem to be reversed in image C. Am I wrong?[url][url]
  4. The more you train, the better you get. But since 4-way is a team sport, you have to keep a team together. As someone else said, it all depends on the level of commitment your TEAM has. Some common training measures are a) One weekend per month, b) every other saturday and c) every Sunday. For a new team, any of those should work. But Make sure eveeryone agrees to it. I prefer to train every 6 jump every Saturday. My team agreed to train just one saturday last season, four jumps. So we competed in the meets with no training. We had fun, but didn't learn as much as I wanted. Needless to say, I'm looking for a new team this year. Cost is big factor, especially with jump prices at $20! Video with a good debrief and/or coaching are well worth the expense. If your team is serious about becoming better skydivers, factor those cost in to you equation. If you get lucky, you can find a camera person who jump with you for free...but generally expect to pay for his/her slot. If you can't get free video, make fewer jumps and spend more time on the creepers...creeping free! You'd be amazed at how much time the good teams spend on the creepers. You might get more team info from the Relative Work forum.
  5. I'm 260 + gear. My Sabre 210 has been good to me. I was 220 when I bought it, and figured is was more fun to up size my waist line that it waas to downsize my canopy. God bless the "All They Can Cook" chinese buffets. Last year I started belly flying with free flyers for fun. Had some great dives with sit flyers. My top speed was 187...even the head down boys said should slow down a bit. I had Zute Sute make me a suit that keeps my 4-way team, Gravity Powered Misfits, between 125 and 130MPH. I met a 4-way team from canada last week that has an average fall rate of 135+. "Fat Bastards" was the team name. Nice guys, if you ever in the Vancouver area. As for the Anvil Brothers...I was dissapponted two years. They claimed it would be fast fall rate, but I ended WAY low on those boys. Hopefully i'll hook up for an Anvil dive this year...but only if they can promise me a fall rate in the upper 130s.
