My how the times have changed... old pictures of me ignite the maternal instinct in women, new pictures ignite the pepper spray instinct. Blues, squares, PTiger

Just ask for directions to the 51st state! Gimme a C, eh? Gimme an N, eh? Gimme a D, eh? What does that spell? Blues, squares, PTiger

My first pull was pretty weak. I had been geeking the camera (Froggie, next time you see Jason tell him it's still a kickass video!) since about 11.5k when I realized I was not dead. All of a sudden Jacko puts my left arm down into my face and I'm like "Whoops, forgot about that altimeter thingy." I didn't even look at it, I just knew it was time to go. So I go for the ripcord with my right hand and lo and behold, the damn thing isn't there! S#it. Fumble around.. ok, that's webbing, hmm, that's my dick (no time for that now), ok, that's the snap on my leg strap, hmm, that's Jacko's hand, what's it doing so close to my dick? Ahh, HE'S got the ripcord. YANK - there goes the canopy! So I didn't actually get it myself, even though he didn't mention it in my logbook. I put my hands on the risers (well, not really risers so much as the tandem harness, but hell they were holding me up and they were above my shoulders) even though I don't remember thinking about that and hadn't been told to do so. I guess my first actual ripcord pull was on my Tandem II a month later and 6 states farther south. I got hold of it for sure that time. Blues, squares, PTiger

Hey, can I get an HM for my Crackbaby picture? Check it out in my profile; the full-sized scan is here. Based on this I think I could sue my parents for willful neglect. A) snot is flowing out of my nose and down my chin, but they decide to take a picture instead of wiping it off! 2) my clothes are inside out and backwards, as evidenced by the tag sticking up into my throat. D) I'm puffing on a frickin' pipe for God's sake!!! Blues, squares, PTiger

Whoa, did I just get mushy over lunchboxes? Somebody smack me. Blues, squares, PTiger

When I was in elementary school I treasured my "Fall Guy" lunchbox. Ditched it when I hit middle school and lunchboxes weren't cool anymore. SIGH.. wonder where it is now. Remember class field trips, when everyone was so excited about going, and kids who always bought the cafeteria lunch had to bring lunchboxes instead? I remember that some kids had really cool lunchboxes that they never brought otherwise. Ahh, those were the days. Blues, squares, PTiger

Welcome to the skies!! Lisa's right about the PermaGrin. I think it's caused by the hook that freefall set into your mouth. Pretty soon you'll get reeled back in.

working the winter to pay for the summer

Did anyone else watch X-Files tonight, and think of our dear friend Huffermoose when the Communications Officer on the oil rig got whacked? Blues, squares, PTiger -
I haven't seen (or participated in ) many exits, but one of the coolest I've seen is from a Monkey Claw video - I think it's the first one on that page. One of the cameramen is actually on top of the Otter. First time I saw it, I was like "they must have had a zoom lens mounted on another plane...?" Duh. Blues, squares, PTiger

I agree totally! I just ordered a Cypres from them - SkyKat seems to be the only place that doesn't charge you extra if the units have had their 4 or 8-year check. They answered all my dumb questions without hesitation, too! I ended up missing that used Spectre 210 by a few minutes. DOH! I feel even worse now that I realize so few top-notch canopies are available used in the 210 or larger range. Almost makes me want to get in shape. Blues, squares, PTiger

Check out S&M at www.skydivementors.com. The web page is slightly out of date but the mailing list is very active. Blues, squares, PTiger

Thinking back on my AFF exits (yeah, a whole 5 weeks ago, way back when...), I think "Let's get ready to Tuuuummmmbbllllllle!!" would be more accurate. Blues, squares, PTiger

Something to ask the DZs about would be their jump totals for last year (tandem, AFF, experienced jumpers) because that way you can gauge how much there is to do, and what areas they concentrate on. Also, ask them what teams and instructors are based there (or just check out their websites). The DZ with stronger teams and more experienced instructors would be great, since you'll probably pick up a lot of knowledge just from talking and fun jumping with people. Blues, squares, PTiger

Hey Moose, try this one: "I've got a dick. Want to see it?" AY! MIKE! Not a good idea. Haven't you seen the disclaimers on those helmets? The manufacturers seem to think they can't stop anything stronger than a Rodriguez Brother blowing ass! (Hee hee.. pfffffffbbbbbtttt "7k, set your altimeters") Blues, squares, PTiger

Maybe if ya call him "FerryNut" he won't be so insulted... but you can still have your laughs behind his back! Blues, squares, PTiger

Good news! 2 Interviews! Read about them here...

- are there any stunts they've done that, looking back on it, they feel they're really lucky to have come through unscathed? Phrased another way, was anything they look back on and say "I shouldn't have done that and I'm blessed to be in 1 piece"? -do skydiving strangers react differently than whuffo strangers when they meet Carl/Troy? - If there was one stubborn whuffo they could take skydiving, who and why? - what's the coolest non-skydiving related thing they've ever done? - Is there a certain song or snippet of music that brings to mind a treasured memory? There's the standard counts for scared tandem students - {t/m} "Ready, Set," {student} NOOOOOOooooooo.... Blues, squares, PTiger

Yeah, but why the hell would we want it!? Blues, squares, PTiger

Great one Pammi - last time I heard it, Adam jumped the gun and Eve ended up with multiple orgasms. Blues, squares, PTiger

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is NOT for you. For sale: Complete parachute rig. Slightly stained, never opened. Blues, squares, PTiger

I ate some creative foods in HS, I admit, but I never took gym class. Nyah nyah! Blues, squares, PTiger

DAC will be in Walterboro, SC on May 17 IIRC. But unless I've known you since high school, I'm not paying half of your tandem. Blues, squares, PTiger

Solution: take your friends to a David Allan Coe concert and be the designated driver. Then, while they're all sobering up over "breakfast" at Alex's, challenge their egos and manipulate their drunken brains until they agree to jump as long as you pay half. Worked for me last night!!

Just watch "Jackass" on MTV, they seem to make some money thinking up just the kind of things you're after. "As long as people accept crap, it will be profitable to dispense it." -- Dick Cavett Blues, squares, PTiger
