  1. D00d!! 3y3 53c0|\|d +#4+!!! Down, Inner Geek! Back! Back!! Hehe, Sorry 'bout that folks , he got a little overexcited after seeing DSC cuddle that tiger. Blues, Squares, PTiger *insert sub-100 character sig here*
  2. Where are you doing the night jumps? Chester? Supposedly tomorrow's going to be gorgeous; why can't you postpone a day? Blues, Squares, PTiger *insert sub-100 character sig here*
  3. Jtval and the other blues lovers hit the nail on the head. I tend to listen to the music more than the words, and blues is the only music that can convey pure emotion so well. I also love classic rock - Fogerty, Sabbath, Deep Purple (Highway Star is the greatest driving song ever!!), Zep, etc. But I think that's more for the true rockness of it; there are some newer bands that I'll listen to, e.g. Eve 6 or Firewater, that can kick ass and get my blood going. 4. Actually I was hoping someone would generate more Drop Zone wisdom for the Pub. I think the ones on there are getting stale (witty though they may be). So if HH (or whoever picks that stuff) is looking, I nominate DZBone's post!! Blues, Squares, PTiger *insert sub-100 character sig here*
  5. Think of it as a (vertical) Corner Office.
  6. Apparently the Norwegians aren't dealing too well with the increasing average age of their population - they're hiring geriatric bouncers. Isn't Stavanger close to Kjeraag? Blues, Squares, PTiger *insert sub-100 character sig here*
  7. Attention all Addicts, Old Hands, Enthusiasts, Newbies, and ()s . In order to satisfy Emma's insatiable need for controversy, let's have it out right now. What specific songs and bands suck hairy goat balls and why? I nominate anything by Lincoln Park as Least Deserving of Airtime. If you have to scream, fine. But please, don't scream at the microphone. And yes, I know plenty of good songs include screaming. But when the only vocal aptitude you exhibit is the "Drunk Wifebeater On A Rampage" style, take it somewhere else!! And that fusking Britney Spears Pepsi Ad!!!!!!!!!! I listen to a ROCK station so that I don't have to listen to that plastic overproduced bimbo. And Pepsi not only has the gall to intimate that their products make her shed her clothing, but they decide it's such a popular image that the fusking SOUNDTRACK for the commercial has to be played on every radio station in America! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I can't even find refuge on NPR - it's fundraising week next week!! Blues, squares, PTiger *insert witty sig here*
  8. No, the deal is that your federal taxes are deducted from your income - your state doesn't tax you on the money you pay in federal taxes. So unless the federal gov't is GIVING you tax money, it's a great deal compared to the other states. Unfortunately, the federal gov't is giving you tax money. So the amount you are legally allowed to deduct has fallen - since you can now spend that money on something other than the IRS, Oklahoma treats it as normal income. I know it's raw that your state taxes go up as a result of a federal refund, but next April you can lord it over all of us who pay state taxes on the federal tax dollars we never have a chance to play with! 9. Come to South Carolina! We have... um... uh.... let me get back to you on that. Blues, squares, PTiger *insert witty sig here*
  10. Double post, sorry folks. Edited by PalmettoTiger on 6/7/01 06:45 PM.
  11. It sounds safer than exiting at 5,280 ft, "docking," and trying to deploy in time! I think I'll aim for membership in the 2½ Mile High Club - the Mile High Club doesn't allow enough "working time" for my standards! Blues, squares, PTiger *insert witty sig here*
  12. Spectre230. I am truly sorry for the loss of your nephew. Being 21 myself I can barely imagine the life experiences that you have enjoyed but that your nephew cannot. However: judging someone not by his or her merits, but by membership in a given group that has assumed (not universal) characteristics is the essence of discrimination. Judging all gays by the reprehensible actions of one would be the same as a city denying me a job as a bus driver because I'm a skydiver. "He's reckless! He blatantly disregards both his own safety and that of the people around him!!" And this without interviewing me, looking at my driving record, or even watching me drive an empty bus. And especially without knowing anything more about skydiving. Blues, squares, PTiger *insert witty sig here*
  13. I had a picture taken during POPS nationals @ X-Keys last year of Lew Sanborn and me! I'll scan it and post it. Eventually. Blues, squares, PTiger *insert witty sig here*
  14. Well dang, if you search AltaVista for "sangiro" it returns 469 references, and it doesn't take long to find out what HH's real name is!! Although the name is also available if you dig through a certain very popular Java applet here on DZ.com... Blues, squares, PTiger *insert witty sig here*
  15. I had a really stop-and-go student progression. Full story here. But the weekend after that jump, I finished my progression by passing the AFF 4-7 dives in 20 hours. It starting with a sunset load for the AFF 4 repeat that ranks as my all-time (out of a whopping 10 ) favorite dive. I forget who mentioned it but I got video for my AFF 7 and it almost didn't happen either. I wasn't sure I'd do the 360s, backloop, frontloop, and track in time, but I had 2 solid jumps already that day, so I think the extra dose of confidence got me off the ground and out into the breeze. The exit was passable, the 360's were good (we skimmed the edge of a cloud which was really cool) but slow. The backloop ended up being more like a backflop and the frontloop was an unmitigated tumble. When I checked alt after that, we were at 6200 and I knew I'd go below 5500 if I did the track. But I thought "fusk it, I'm not going to repeat this dive!" and tracked for 4 seconds before waving off and pulling. In hindsight, not a good attitude to have about assigned pull times, but 5500 is a lot different than 3500. 38461!

Congrats Pammi!! And Merrick, didn't you know that if you have a lower license number you're automatically a better/cooler skydiver!? Blues, squares, PTiger *insert witty sig here*
  17. Blue Sky Adventures, St. George SC in the summers. Cross Keys, Williamstown, NJ in the fall, winter, and spring. FYI, I sent Perris an e-mail about the camera positioning. They wrote back pretty quickly (great "customer" service!) and said they'd prefer to have it aim along the course instead of perpendicular to it, but they're limited by the positioning of the generator. They're working on a new location but honestly we should be happy that they're making this available at all (my words not Perris's). Blues, squares, PTiger *insert witty sig here*
  18. Hey folks, the Perris Cam is showing live footage from the Para-Performance Pro Blade Tour meet! If you go directly to the meet page, you'll see a swoop every minute or so! You have to pay attention, though - suddenly they're at one side of the image, then the very next frame they're at the other side or just gone. Sometimes all you can see is the trail they left in the water. Check it out!! Blues, squares, PTiger *insert witty sig here*
  19. Does anyone here speak jive? This man needs help! Blues, squares, PTiger *insert witty sig here*
  20. He did go to Princeton, which in my experience qualifies him to be a monk. Seriously - he appeared in several episodes of Red Shoe Diaries, which is apparently soft-core pr0n. I don't know for sure, I don't get the "premium" channels like Skinemax. But don't take my word for it, go to The Internet Movie Database. Blues, squares, PTiger *insert witty sig here*
  21. Winky, it's something called supply and demand. Over here, we have both. But for reasons that should be obvious, there's not quite enough *demand* for British cooking. Blues, squares, PTiger *insert witty sig here*
  22. Would that be the FIRST ti- ...oh, I get it. Nevermind. Blues, squares, PTiger *insert witty sig here*

Oh, so it's your Incredible Edible Pocket Pussy, then? Working it overtime? Blues, squares, PTiger *insert witty sig here*
  25. Wow, and here I thought it was only used for drying the dog after he gets a bath. [cringes as a contingent of dog lovers led by AirAnn come for his hide] No, I'm just kidding! My dog never gets baths anyway! We just shave him, that's all. Here, little Kornrat, er, Korndog! I got a nice big chocolate bar for you... Blues, squares, PTiger *insert witty sig here*
