  1. http://oregonstate.edu/~kapsenbp/skydive/skydive.wmv This is jump #17, I was still pretty wiggly with the legs
  2. Good to know, I was eyeing them since they are cheaper than protracks, but i guess there is a reason. You get what you pay for. http://dropman.com
  3. 2 exit weights? I have no intention of being dishonest EDIT: i suppose you mean the 155 in the other thread. I dont ctaully have a scale, and ive read both numbers on different scales, but they are pretty close anyway. Thanks for the input on the suits tho. http://dropman.com
  4. why is it not incuded in the list, what do ppl think about it ect... http://dropman.com
  5. What about Skytronics? http://dropman.com
  6. This thread is about jumpsuits, not wingloading. I would just like some opinions/experiences on different kinds and makes of jumpsuits, like RW vs. freefly and Tony vs. Flitesuit vs. Kurupee etc. http://dropman.com
  7. Well, I do both really. The ppl I jump with like to freefly, so I do that too. Im at the point where i can get into a relatively stable sit. But I enjoy RW just as much, I am really determined to get good at it. I weigh 160 lbs and am 5'11" (approx
  8. I sent in my member registration and A-license card like a month ago, but I haven't heard anything from them. Is this normal? http://dropman.com
  9. Hello, I am a real floater, I like freeflying, but I also want to work on RW, since my last 4-way kinda went to shit. (I stayed relative, but I had trouble getting into the round) Anyway, I ws looking at Kurupee suits, since they look nice and are affordable (guy at my DZ has one, its nice). But Im worried about it being to big/baggy. I think what I need is a good reasonably tight fitting RW suit, or if Kurupee or another company have a not-so-loose freefly suit, that would work too i suppose. Recently I have been jumping in just street clothes, which is annoying for going into sits, and my shirt likes to go up over my face. Anyways, what kind of jumpsuit would be good for me? I like Kurupee's price of $150, but i doubt that goes for RW suits. http://dropman.com
  10. What are Cut-in Laterals? http://dropman.com
  11. What is the difference between the Mirage G3 & G4? Their website gives no clue. http://dropman.com
  12. Jumped in Oregon (grass landings only), I will have to find out the rest, (lines dont seem 500 jumps old, im sure they been replaced at some point, just guessing tho) Im looking for like a ballpark figure. http://dropman.com
  13. I have packed all my jumps since like jump #5 and The only time I had a hard opening was with someone elses triathlon 135 (didnt pack that). I always roll the nore pretty thight AND push it all the way forward into the cocoon, and i roll the tail like 8 times too. (PRO pack btw). http://dropman.com
  14. What is a reasonable price for a Sabre 135, it has over 500 jumps but still looks nice. Brake lines a bit fuzzy, but thats all. Need to come up with an offer. http://dropman.com
  15. Update: So i went for it, I put a Sabre 135 in it and jumped it twice today, man its fun. Ill put an AAD in it when I can afford it BTW, the reserve is a tempo 150. http://dropman.com
  16. I anticipated a boring summer, and decided to do something fun. I am advanced SCUBA certified, but its so damn expensive, especially if you dont know anyone who does, and you cant really dive well here off the coast of OR, unless you drive hella far (expensive) or charter a boat (really expensive). First I thought, hanggliding, but all the people i talked to said its such a hassle with the huge frame and all, most people paraglide. That seemed too tame, just dangling there all the time. So I was like skydiving it is, and damn its fun. http://dropman.com
  17. I think it'd be useful, right now i use google to find stores, but it'd be nice to have a list here, including feedback from customers. http://dropman.com
  18. I have packed everything I jumped and vice versa since jump 5 or so. I have never really had a bad opening, (I pack a Triathlon 160, before that Tri 175, Tri 220) I also pack all kinds of thing laying around at the DZ, incuding a 88 sqft and tandems (all propacking btw). After flaking it all out, I alternate left and right, then bring up the tail and hold onto it until its in the bag, that way it doesnt mess up. I keep my knee on it when pressing the air out of the cocoon. When making the S-folds to put it in the D-bag i grab the underside of the cocoon so that it doesnt "un-cocoon" Kinda hard to explain, but I hope u get the idea. http://dropman.com
  19. Hello, I almost have my A license (damn NW weather!) and Im debating on what to get next for gear. I currently own an altimeter and some CURV Z sunglasses/goggles. Should I look into: - jumpsuit - ProTrack - used/new rig (complete or not) I have already planned to buy some decent gloves for the cooling air at 10,000 ft. Thanks http://dropman.com
  20. Thanks for all the advice, http://dropman.com
  21. It wont be sitting around for long, and I will probably let the DZ use it in the meantime anyway. But this thread is about this combo being a good deal, not if I can land in someone's back yard. http://dropman.com
  22. I wouldt be using it right away, obviously, and the 88 main is not incuded in the deal. So I woult have a container and reserve sitting around waiting for me to get experience and an A license if anything else. I will practice with a 135 from my DZ later on after some more experience with the 160. http://dropman.com
  23. Its a refelx container. I forget what it's called, but the shoulder straps go down to a ring on the hip which are also connected to the leg straps (correct my newbie terminology here), Maybe its not PD, but thats what sounds familiar. I weigh 155, and Im jumping my DZ's Tri 160 (I almost have my A license), But im looking to downsize no too far from now. The container fits a 135, but the current owner has an 88 in it. (dont know what make). If I were to buy this, I woulnt use it just yet, wait till i can use and afford a 135 .a http://dropman.com
  24. Its a refelx container, and the reserve is a PD 135 or 150 i believe http://dropman.com
  25. I have been offered a container & Reserve for $800, its a sweet deal, but it has no AAD (is Cypress ready tho). Anyway, is it really that bad to jump without an AAD? The guy I'd buy it from also jumps w/o one. He is a tandem instructor. http://dropman.com
