What an awesome desin idea. Imagine a flat ipod style battery witha simple flat circuit that could be sewn onto the Dbag &/or freebag, so it would appear as a thick parf of the material. It actually wouldnt be that complicated. You'd ahve to et FCC approval for air transmission upon activation (by cutaway or reserve handle) though http://dropman.com

Can you please explain how a passive device could help me... 1) swoop further 2) turn more points in my 4-way team 3) Teach me how to freelfy better 4) improve my tandem videos I am sorry, but I cannot see any way that vigil (or cypres) could make me perform better. Marketing gone crazy Vigil is not a passive device, of couse, otherwise it would not require batteries. Your opinion on the 4 points in indeed valid tho. Far fetched, perhaps it suggests that with the peace of mind of having an AAD you perform better. http://dropman.com

The waiting is probably due to the fact that they are in Paraguay http://dropman.com

I ordered a Kurupee, and the suit is very nice, well made. But getting it a was a hassle to say the least. When i initially ordered, it took about 6 weeks to get to me, so that was as advertised, but it was all wrong. Way to big and the cuff slosing straps were the same on both side (not mirrored). I emailed them and they said send it back, we will start making you a new one today. More than 2 months passed and every time I emailed them they said 'it will ship tomorrow'. grr... Finally arrived and it's great this time, but man that was a long wait. Next time I'm thinking a local company like Bodysport or so. http://dropman.com

Whats this worth? (pc110 & bat-rak)
skydivingdutch replied to skydivingdutch's topic in Photography and Video
I have a PC110 with a 0.6x Sony wide-angle, top-mounted on a Bat-Rak using a homebrew L bracket & a neoprene condom. A ringsight (holographic X in it) + CamEye II is mounted on the helmet too. I also have a bite switch. Camera has a tape, 8mb stick, some cables, AC charger. Besides the holes I drilled for the ringsight, everything is top notch. Do you think I can sell this combo for $1000 ? If not, what is agood price? I bought all this stuff this summer, and I found myself leaving it at home because just getting out there and freeflying is much more fun. Thanks yall. http://dropman.com -
Saw video of a guy jumping w/o rig!!
skydivingdutch replied to skydivingdutch's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
He jumped with this other guy and an extra rig, just hangin on to it in the air, then he opened while just hanging on to the legstraps. No idea how he landed it, but any moment of arm weakness = certain death. It was insane, seems like such a dumb idea. You guys seen this? http://dropman.com -
Which wide angle lens should I get?

I want to do some recreational 2-3-4way videoing and Tandems. so sony 0.6x seems like a good general purpose lens? http://dropman.com -
Which wide angle lens should I get?
skydivingdutch replied to skydivingdutch's topic in Photography and Video
I just bought a PC110 on ebay ($560 - yeah!) Now I need a wide angle lens for it. I was looking at sony's 0.6x but I dont know if it will be wide enough. I'm kinda hesitant about el cheapo asian lenses. I definatly do not want vignette or other distortion. Also since the PC110 has fairly good image quality, I want to avoid any lens that would detract from that. I've seen Royal's diamond & stealth , but I can't really afford those as of now. Any thoughts? http://dropman.com -

Skydving in movies & TV... let make a complete list
skydivingdutch replied to skydivingdutch's topic in The Bonfire
Here's what I remember off the top of my head Movies: Cutaway Dropzone Point Break Along Came Polly 007: Die another Day (close to skydiving, using a parachute to surf) 007: Tomorrow Never Dies (im sure there's more) Eraser Terminal Velocity XXX TV: Episode of CSI that involves paragliding (doesnt really count) That's all I can think of for now http://dropman.com -
Damn those girls are cute. Welcome to the club man. http://dropman.com

Hmm so I'm leaning towards the PC110, for its nice zoom button & better picture quality. Would still value all your input, and thanks for the opinions so far! http://dropman.com

I really can't decide. I like the PC110 for supposed quality, but it doesnt have a touch screen interface. HC40 seems nice with the hybrid LCD (for daylight viewing). I could care less about sills, i have a good digicam. I can buy all kinds of wide angle lenses for all cameras, so that will not be a deciding factor. This will be going on a Batrack. http://dropman.com

Hello, Any thoughts on the PC110 vs PC9 (sony minidv)? Can I justify paying more for the PC110? Any one better suited for freefall video? Thanks. http://dropman.com

I know you need a commericial license to get paid but hers's the scenario im talking about: A private pilot flys a jump plane for a DZ and gets paid nothing for it. However, the DZO does not make him pay to fly, and the DZ is making money off of the flying this pilot is doing (paying studends, jumpers etc). The plane belongs to the DZ. So basically if the pilot arrives with $50 in his wallet, he leaves with $50 . Is this technically allowed? http://dropman.com

Aarghh. For two straight weekends it has been overcast, while during the week there are beautiful blue skies, and I am stuck in the office all day. This coming weekend is the exact same, forecast for heavy showers while Thur & Firday are supposed to be complety clear & 80+ deg. Ricockulous. It so frustrating, I wont be jumping for like 4 weeks. (this week + the week upto the weekend of the 12th + the last two) And its June for cryin' out loud. Seriously. Edits: I can't spell http://dropman.com

The opening in my pouch (damn that sounds bad) has a bungee through it (see pic) so nothing shows I also like how reflex's have that extra border of material at the opening to tuck the bridle under, zo there is 0 bridle exposure http://dropman.com
