  1. The uglier packjobs are always my favorite! They open nicer! I have perfected the ugly packjob! (well actually i havent had enough practice yet). But with the Sabre...just roll the nose, stuff it in the bag, and it will be the softest opening! "Airborne all the way" EL Cantador Rodriguez
  2. Hey everyone. I just came across a deal I thought was too good to be true. I purchased a Sony PC 9 for 300 bucks. It is in perfect condition, only used once time and never in the air. It is in PAL format though. I am a new skydiver (200 jumps or so) and figure even though im looking to learn to shoot video, or screw around and video some friends, im not going to be making movies). do you think the deal was ok? is there any decent ways to convert it? thanks "Airborne all the way" EL Cantador Rodriguez
  3. Hop and Pops are fun, get to sit at or next to the door (esp fun in a skyvan, i hang my feet out the back) you can even go out on the strut or hang off the wing of the plane if the pilot doesnt mind. and if there are tandems on the load, its fun to scare them and go screaming as you run out the back and do a back flip! 4. its just like after AFF learning how to do a dock with ur belly, if u reach u will defenitly change ur speed. Just be confident when you are docking. I had/have the same problem. I get excited when I see someones foot and try to grab it. When I know im going to get a dock, I say to myself, "fly to it, keep my hands in the same spot"...its kinda like parking a car, my hand is the car and hit foot is the space, i dont move it, i just turn my body so my hand is there, and fly it right into the space. works for me! good luck! 5. Awsome exit. I remember the first time I did it (i was sitting). Another thing we did was also hold hands crossed infront of us, and when we jumped i was front float and she flipped over head down...we spoked (sp?) on exit was we were going down the hill then just had a fun jump! another awsome exit to try! keep jumping! and no...we arent all just kids that freefly! "Airborne all the way" EL Cantador Rodriguez
  6. No problem. I will see u on the 27th! just got my money for it and my plane tickey to a nice warmer place! blue skies! any body else here competing in freefly? "Airborne all the way" EL Cantador Rodriguez
  7. ok call me crazy but this is pretty expensive isnt it? The total costs for everything is $2395 you get, 20 skydives (1 on 1 coaching), 40 minutes in the wind tunnel in orlando, a meeting with sports psychologist, Dr John DeRosali, prizes, demos and meetings with people in the sport. If i went to deland, to get coaching its about 69 bucks a jump...ill round it to 70. 70$ for 20 jumps = 1400 40 minutes in the wind tunnel is 10 bucks a minute at 400 bucks. I am only comming out here with $1800? "Airborne all the way" EL Cantador Rodriguez
  8. Well this is what you do, you go to lake whales on decemeber 27th, sign up to compete in the freefly division, and get on an airplane, jump out of it, do some badass flying, and hopefully do well! Or, you can just check this link out below! ** Offical Collegiate Website** http://204.2.96.152/ As far as the freeflying, yea I am heading out there to compete. Hopefully it will be fun. The rules are posted on USPA.org at the bottom fo the main page if you havent seen them yet. Look out for team "cool runnings" ! Hopefully it will be fun spending new yers with a couple hundred college kids! "Airborne all the way" EL Cantador Rodriguez
  9. OK, now i havent been doing this whole skydiving thing for that long...april to be exact, and still, everyday at the drop zone I feel "cool". No, im not just cool because I jump a bright yellow jumpsuit with a purple container, or not cool because I just bought my first camera with about 200 jumps, but cool because I am one of the few lucky people who have the ability on almost any given day to get into an airplane and jump from it! from when I did my AFF, this was the best thing that I remembered. being able to go tell all my friends that I jump from airplanes for fun. I felt COOL! Today, i still feel cool. and i feel that the ability to do this "cool" stuff can be taken away at any moment. Currently, when I was at the dropzone today, I saw someone i knew in a wheel chair that can not jump anymore due to a skydiving accident. It had nothing to do with him being cool or not, just the fact that I can tell he was missing something, he wanted to be in the air, and he prob wont be again. We all have to realize that we all are still cool...no matter what rigs we have, jump suits, cameras ect...no matter what type of dives we do, tracking, belly, freefly ect. I think this coolness that all of us skydivers share is one that can be taken away very quickly. And we should always remember to keep in mind to be as safe as posible, or we wont have the chance to be cool anymore. Any comments I strongly welcome "Airborne all the way" EL Cantador Rodriguez
  10. Is there going to be any good looking bad ass skydiving chicks at the competetion??? LOL "Airborne all the way" EL Cantador Rodriguez
  11. Ofcourse it is...all us guys know that nice guys never get the nice girls...why do u think i skydive? "Airborne all the way" EL Cantador Rodriguez
  12. Hmmm...1 out of 2 aint bad. Where do you live again? lol "Airborne all the way" EL Cantador Rodriguez
  13. The best thing that I learned when I was jumping was to keep my feet always pressing towards the ground. When i was on my back, my feet were usually pointing towards the horizon. If i put them under me...and pushed the bottom of them towards the ground it would sit myself up right. Becareful not do curl up cause you will be like me on most of my jumps. I am still leaning foward too much and trying to correct the habit. Work on ur legs first, with an awsome base or anchor, it is easier to learn! and never give up! "Airborne all the way" EL Cantador Rodriguez
  14. Who needs men and blue skies? oh come on! how about us both!!!! Funny thing is, it was an ex girlfriend that got me to jump first and kept me jumping...i wanted to get away from her so much i figured the only place she couldnt effect me was in the air! got to love skydiving, so many good things! "Airborne all the way" EL Cantador Rodriguez
  15. Yea ofcourse I got my AFF done in the beggining of april...and i was bugging deland for night jumps once i got 50 jumps like a month later. I was sent away for Army Airborne school for a month, and i got a call when i was there from a friend jumpnig who said they did night jumps. Never got a chance to do it ...ill proboly be up there sunday. maybe ill see you there! and why should i wear a skirt to deland? i dunno about that one! "Airborne all the way" EL Cantador Rodriguez
  16. Well if you would like to know...GWB actually did take airforce one to bagdad. He was the first ever US president to visit Iraq. The president snuck onto airforce one in the morning...the ground crew was told that the plane was just going to go up for some matinence, but GWB in a baseball hat, snuck onto the plane with his gaurds and took off for iraq. over england, a british airways plane thought he spotted airforce one off of his wing, he radioed over the intercom "is that air force one"...the airforce one pilot said back, "No, gulfstream 5, sorry". if anybody hear knows airplanes, its hard to mix up a gulfstream 5 and airforce one and i think GWB should have taken two 747's. I think he should have two air force ones...why??? well because one for himself, and one for his huge set of balls he has to do this!!! he is the man what a huge rally for our troops. most presidents and people would just do it via phone or tv, not actually visit the country we are fighting. i am willing to be most people here wouldnt even go over there to talk to the troops...you could put me on the first flight to thank them! when we all eat our thanksgiving dinner, remember we can because of those men and women overseas, and never ever forget it!! "Airborne all the way" EL Cantador Rodriguez
  17. yea i cant help but notice the pictures that hang at the perfect spot resturant from last years new years party. didnt know if anything was going on. i saw you jump at deland? you jump there alot? i prob have seen u a bunch of times! PS: i think i should start a new poll...why does deland never do night jumps!!!! "Airborne all the way" EL Cantador Rodriguez
  18. HAHA...yea good thing im not a ring knocker. Its sad to say i wanted to be a for a few years. I was quialified for three years when i applied, but i never was accepted. I thought it was bad until this summer at airborne school ig ot to see all of them in action and was glad i wasnt there! 1sgt, when you going to come down to daytona, check out our ROTC program. Yea, aviation maybe...our school has like 90% acceptance rate of it. MI only cause i wanted to go special forces, but there is always the 160th. I just finished reading the book by CW4 Mike Durrant, amazing book. Where else were you stationed. I have to also figure out where I want to get stationed. I know Hawaii must be nice, i might be going to air assault school there this summer. Any other good sugestions. Im thinking Ft. Brag, Campbell, or Venice Italy.
