  2. I need you to come down...nov 4th was my birthday, and all i wanted to do that day was jump in my birthday suit. ofcourse the winds were too high to have anyone jump at the DZ, and no one wanted to go with me....i didnt think my jump should be like my sex life (u better get the joke there!), so it never happened...now i got to wait for another moment to do it! ps: where in boston are you at?? 5. QuoteI have PLFed more times than not when attempting to land.reply] Sounds like youd be a good candidate for Army Airborne School...you dont even get the choice...even if you can stand up the landing, you still have to PLF or get kicked out of the course... so keep your head up..and just think, if u ever go, your going to be far ahead!

  11. I have done about 200 jumps at deland. From jump number 1 to 200, i cannont think of a day that there wasnt something to do there. There are amazing people to jump with and train with. You can learn canopy, rw, freefly and wingsuit while you are there. They have 3 awsome planes! If anyone is every there, and cant find something to do...your not asking for it! Talk to people there, at first they may look professional because most people there want to be there and want to jump so much, but on my first AFF jump, even the Majik decided to give me a high five and told me not to forget to arch...cant beat that. Id love for some professional basketball team to go to a highschool and give pointers to them...aint gonna happen! If your ever in deland! im sure u will find me there

  13. Hey everyone. My name is Jerry. I go to an aeronautical school in daytona beach right near skydive deland and near sky venture in orlando. I am doing a analytical report on comparing pros and cons of the wind tunnel vs skydiving. i want to get everyones opinions on both. i have been to both the tunnel and skydived. i defenitly feel that skydiving is more fun because of the fun plane ride up to altitude, feel of the air, and especially the canopy ride...all of which the tunnel can not provide. however, the tunnel is good if you wanna train and have unlimited freefall as long as you hav unlimited cash! well let me know what you guys all think....if you dont mind, i might use some of yuor opitions as quotes in my paper so make sure u include some things: name age # of jumps how many minutes in the tunnel (and most importantly)opinion of which one is better thanks for all your help!!! blue skies! 14. Deland...there isnt much that cant be said about this place. I have only jumped at two drop zones in my whole life, not counting Ft. Benning with the Army, and I feel that deland has everything to offer. One day after a long day of jumping, I had the oppritunity to go out to dinner with Ray himself, and some other workers from deland and the surrounding area. We had italian food and sat and drank some wine talking way beyond the hours of the resturant. I barely had 50 jumps there and for a very professional dropzone where most people say that unless you have 1000 jumps you arent nothing, this is a lie. I have met great friends out there and there is always something to do. The staff is great there including the resturant which is always a nice welcomed break from the summer rain storms. The pilots are great along with the planes they fly. There is always something to do, if you want to free fly you can talk to Jimmy or Hunter, do canopy work with Scott Miller, do RW stuff with Cromy or anything you even want to do. It has an amazing view of Daytona Beach from 13,500 which makes for some fun hop and pops from the top at the end of the day. If you cant find something to do or someone to jump with at Deland then you are just not asking or not trying. I jumped all summer there while they were in "slow time" and we still managed to keep the plane flying days with jsut free flyers which can go to show you that its not a team DZ. Its a DZ, and you make it what it is. From what I have seen, the Teams help make the DZ busy, and they are predictable that they will keep the plane flying till a certain time. If free flyers or fun jumpers would do the same thing Im sure you could call it a "fun jumper" DZ. But in the long run, DeLand is a great place, ive so far made my first jump (tandem) and AFF, and 100th jumps there. And I still have fun everytime doing it! Blue Skies!!!! And Go Army! Airborne!
