  1. THANK YOU SHANNON!!!!!!!! Number 39, Nothing Remarkable, Though I'm happy to be alive!
  2. Man I love you girl. You are the sweetest, most wonderful. THANK YOU!!!!
  3. Dude, your still not getting it. The man is saying, he'd RATHER SEE SOMEONE LEARN!!!! As Opposed to becoming a FATALITY. HE"S NOT SAYING HE WANTS TO SEE PEOPLE HURT. As far as never seeing another incident? I'm sorry, I agree, it'd be nice, it'd also be nice to solve world hunger. But??? The reality of it is this is simply a damn dangerous sport. So many people try to talk it down, say it's less dangerous than driving. BLAHBLAHBLAH. Jumping out of aircraft with handily crafted bed sheets over our heads, then attempting to land them in a real pretty way??? It's actually rather amazing more incidents don't occur. However, BOTTOM LINE??? Ya surely shouldn't be doing this shit in anything less than a completely lucid state of mind. jjf It's a gas, gas, gas...
  4. No Shit. Blows my mind. I mean, I'm a serious low timer with 55 jumps, but, low time, high time, no time, I can't even freaking imagine punching it down to sub 1000 for anyone. Guess it's the only child in me, but when my ass is heading for 2K I'm getting shit open. Even then you've 12 seconds to live which should be enough to make anyones ass pucker just a bit. This has been one hell of an entertaining thread though. Note to everyone, I have a cypres, and? whether it fires or not? If you see my ass spinning and heading for the planet, just nod and smile, knowing I went in doing my favorite thing in the world. But for God's sake, stay the hell away from me, and save your own ass? K? J P.S. I believe the saying "You have no friends under 2K" is quite sensible. It's a gas, gas, gas...
  5. Hey Val, Just curious, why'd ya cut it away? I had an A line pop about two months ago (hella hard opening) and everything still flew good. After a few control checks to verify, I just draped the line over my shoulder and flew it in... Did the control check prove the canopy to be not navigable??? Just curious for future ref. I know no two issues are ever the same. Thanks, Jack It's a gas, gas, gas...
  6. Nothing broken yet, but, I've got the mother of all compressed nerves right between c3 and c4!!! Hurts just a bit I don't think, that if your in this sport long enough, you'll make it through without an injury or two. J It's a gas, gas, gas...

  8. I gotta give you at least 50 points on your response to this. Nice reply, you could've read me the riot act for being a prick, yet you just replied to the issues. Maybe my first impression of you was wrong. blue skies, Jack P.S. For what it's worth, over the whole "under canopy" games? I really think that for most of us, doing anything under hard deck other than bringing the landing in is real real dangerous. Stalls and canopy work can be done up high, above hard deck, so that their is time to act if the shit hits the fan... It's a gas, gas, gas...
  9. And? To clarify? I wasn't ragging on your aggressiveness. We all have the right to go in, whenever we choose, our hands are on the toggles you know. What I was ragging on was you, like me (i'm a lil aggressive too, but, not at 500, at 4000)your a seriously low number jumper, and? My belief is we should listen, and definitly not hand out advice, especially that kind. If you choose to hook it in, your choice, but? If your words are encouraging someone else too??? my 2 cents, peace JJF It's a gas, gas, gas...
  10. Dropping into forums posting completely ridiculous shit in the effort to start huge fights or just generally behave like a complete numb nuts... There are HIGHLY QUALIFIED skydivers on this forum that will give you the information you need to stay alive in this sport while having a good time (within reason). As low time jumpers, it behooves us to listen and ask questions, however, giving any advice is not wise, nor useful in most cases... It can be downright dangerous in many cases. Though we all do it from time to time, some of us are just craters waiting to happen, it'd be a damn shame if we have the same influence on an upcoming young jumper as well... For my first four or five months here I ran my mouth a bit, but, new when to close it as well. Since then, I spend twice the time connected, and ninetynine percent of that READING AND LEARNING. Just be sure to weed out the idiots and look for the sensible information. my 2 cents, YMMV jjf it's a gas, gas, gas It's a gas, gas, gas...
  11. Did two solo's Sunday. Both tracking dives. Got totally into flying, rolling shoulders in, arms back, butt high, catchin major air and just completely getting off on the dives... I'm with you, I so get off on every aspect of the dive, from the preparation to getting in the plane, takeoff, getting out of the plane, bodyflight, deployment, canopy flight, landing.... Truly the coolest shit I've ever seen. jjf It's a gas, gas, gas...
  12. You Too!!!!! Your rigger should give good advice, but???? And he may say this. You did. Give RW a Phone call. They'll set it straight for you. Blues J It's a gas, gas, gas...
  13. I have to jump in here too. I'm a low timer, and as such have no business giving advice, but I'm gonna anyway. You should have the manual to your entire rig. Your container, your aad, your main and your reserve. Learn all you can about it from the factory specs, don't take peoples word for things, read the manuals. It seriously surprises me how many people strap these beautiful pieces of equipment on, to save their lives, and don't know Jack Shit about them. When I reach for my pilot, and it's time to Rock-n-Roll, not only do I know what's on my back, but what shape it's in as well, and the proper use and care. Now, I'll give the caveat, that since I am so new and learning, I believe I've got another couple thousand reads on it, and jumps to learn the practical realities.... But, nevertheless, I believe strongly you should know your equipment intimately. Order all the manuals. Jack It's a gas, gas, gas...
  14. I'm with Ivan on this one. I bought mine early in the game, though my dz wouldnt let me jump it until I got my A and was off student status. It laid in my room, whispering to me. I played with it, constantly, it was rather sick of me, but I so wanted to jump it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol It's a gas, gas, gas...
  15. Which is exactly how I feel as well. Though, I'm so low time it's pitiful, but, nevertheless, when it's time for the reserve.... I'm gathering from many that it's an overall container size issue... It's a gas, gas, gas...
  16. Which proves a long held theory, it's all been discussed here.... Everything we want to know, is damn near searchable on this site.... Freaky... Time for bed, there's nothing left to discuss. lol J It's a gas, gas, gas...
  17. I have got to jump in here too. I've had the same question for over a year. Everyone on this site carry's on about wing loading, jump numbers, etc....etc.....etc.... Why in the world, would a reserve, designed to save our asses, be loaded higher than a main??? The only thought I had is because of room in the container? Though that really doesn't make sense too me.... BillVon? Phree? AggieDave?Drennan? Guy's???? Give it to us, why would you have a reserve, smaller than your main??? When for the most part, most of you already fly a small as hell main??? Inquiring minds, want to know. Oh, and, if no one has thanked you lately, thanks for all the free coaching you all give us on this site. Truly, it's priceless and we all appreciate it very much. 18. Spanky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! compressed disk, 3-4 from opening consistenly, like a fucking rocket!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't have to shout please open! I usually throw out, and brace myself for a spanking, and oddly enough, it's what I get, no matter who, or how it's packed, it spanks me... Got a pocket slider on the way, hopefully it'll calm spanky down a bit and she won't be so damn intense... I'd love to get just a little snivel out of her. jjf It's a gas, gas, gas...
  19. Even "soft" openings are hard on this canopy. I've tried alternate packing methods as well as rolling it up good. Nothing seems to work.
  20. WAIT? WAIT? NO WAY!!!! YOU JUST NEED TO COME OUT!!!! Jack It's a gas, gas, gas...
