  1. Without reading any of the other responses? A year ago, my answer would've been my computer(s), laptop first, tower next, maybe the second laptop and other workstation after... In 04, I got a life. And though, I'd still go for the puters, not until I got my Rig the hell out of the inferno and my gear bag. It's nice after fifteen years of working, to finally have something else to focus on. Damnit, I love skydiving! Edited to Add: Oh SHit, one more thing, my GUITAR, but, that would've been saved with all of the living things, cuz it is living you know... blue skies, jjf It's a gas, gas, gas...

  7. AND BEFORE ANYONE FREAKS All the reference to FRONT RISER GAMES Are above my hard deck. Just in case anyone thinks I'm being an idiot and attempting this shit upon approach. I fly everything straight in like I should, no games, just land it. (of course, a few hundred/thou more jumps, and canopy training, etc... well, then that'll be different ) It's a gas, gas, gas...
  8. I'd like to jump in here from another newbie perspective as well. I fly a Strong ZPO which is by no means a popular mainstream canopy. It is a 190, and when I started flying it, I weighed in at 204. Nevertheless, even after losing considerable weight, now down to 186 pounds, this thing still brings me in like a rocket. I've flown next to a buddy on a Sabre2 170 and were neck and neck all the way... The canopy performs incredibly well, front riser turns, dives, fabulous toggle response and straight in approaches that take some fairly good timing to level out and step off of. That said, with a week or two off without jumping, I find it challenging in low wind situations to keep up with when coming in to land. I'm moving damn strong, and I've even felt the potential exists to break something even with the lower wing loading. At this point I've only got 63 jumps in, but I can see this canopy challenging me for at least a couple hundred more jumps in the future. Don't be in any hurry to move up that quickly, all it's going to do is take you out of the sport with a strong injury, where you'll have to start all over again in your progression. No hurries, we got all the time in the world. peace, blue skies, and most importantly, SAFE LANDINGS, jjf It's a gas, gas, gas...
  9. I've read all the post, hoping it wasn't said yet... I'm stealing this line from someone on dz.com, or, and I'll go back and check my canopy manuaul, it could be in it, but damn if I can remember. Loved it when I read it, and it really rings true, whether the other method works or not. If your packing your canopy by a method other than what's recommended in the manual for that canopy. Then your a test jumper. very sage advice in my book, course, I have less than 10,000 skydives, maybe after a few thousand I'll ease up a bit. jjf It's a gas, gas, gas...
  10. Truly, the people we meet along the way is what it's all about though. Nothing like having someone hold your hand through the rough spots. j It's a gas, gas, gas...
  11. Lessons learned in 04. All of them in the longest three minutes of my life... Nothing is as important as loving those around you and embracing them with every inch of your being. They may not be around a minute from now. The rest of my life I will look at my son and note that "he's still here", he lived. Oddly? We should look at everyone in that manner, because the minute will come, that they won't be. My children remain the most beautiful thing I've ever experienced in my life. jjf It's a gas, gas, gas...
  12. I am INSANELY jealous. GFD is SO HOT. jjf It's a gas, gas, gas...
  13. I would definitly say yes it does. I've been jumping very little here lately. Four or Five times every few (2-3) weeks and I hate it. Comfort level is stretched. Procedure awareness and surrounding awareness definitly is hampered. I think that we cannot over emphasize currency in this sport. And not as an method for merely meeting USPA requirements, but for being capable and confident and safe. Damn good point Lisa, j It's a gas, gas, gas...
  14. My pulse just increased reading it. Pucker factor 10+ at least. Damn. It's a gas, gas, gas...
  15. I named my canopy SpankMe.... Cuz that is exactly what she does. Until I had a pocket slider put on her. Now she opens nice and soft, just like a good girl should. What? I'm insane for naming her? I think not. I was told by more than a few people that Strong ZPO's have a rep for doing that. I have no idea, but I know mine sure did. TOns of things that cause it, but we had ran through everything from pack method to pilot chute size, etc.... on mine, and it still wanted to compress my head through my ass. Ouch is all that I can say. One particular time managed to compress c1-c3 for me. been there, done that, jjf It's a gas, gas, gas...
  16. I'd say that was a fine job!!!!!!! Somehow though, in the scheme of things, I'm still BIG TIME HORNY. It's a gas, gas, gas...
  17. Intensely Horny 24x7 However, thats probably because I'm depriving myself... If I'd just loosen up and become a little more permiscuous, it'd be solved. Brass tax though? Haven't really found anyone to ring the bell.... oh well... It's a gas, gas, gas...
  18. 73% Slutty I am.... I expected higher, but I've mellowed in my old age.... It's a gas, gas, gas...
  19. Kinda like pin checks.... Everyone carry's on about them. But watch on the plane loads. How many people do you see asking for one or giving one? Doesn't mean it shouldn't be done though. We all know the answer to that one. jjf It's a gas, gas, gas...
  20. Congratulations on handling it. Damn fine job. j It's a gas, gas, gas...
  21. Prayers for your family Skymama. jack It's a gas, gas, gas...
  22. LOL WhAT HAPPENED???? I saw her last nite briefly. As far as anything happening? We'll see. There were TONS of guys lined up. ALL of them just dying to speak with her. I don't play that. I'm not going to "get in line" with anyone. If someones attracted to me, then there'll be no line. She came to me last nite at the bar and spoke for awhile in between working. She made contact, not I. We'll become friends, and we'll see. This girl is definitly used to being "made" regularly and I don't have any intention in approaching her in that manner. translated: I'm glad I'm getting older, no longer in an such a hurry to copulate. I can slow down and get to know someone before going there. Again, I don't know that anything may come of it. She's done a few things to indicate she's attracted, yet, at the same time, it could be just because she's a sweet girl. Time will tell. I intend to ask her out shortly, however, I'm not going to hurry that either. Hopefully though, I'll have the pleasure of her across from me at a dinner table shortly. The thought of seeing those eyes over a pair of flickering candles, well, blows me away. I'm also looking forward to learning more about who she is. From what I see so far, there is alot there, which is the only way I intend to hang in the first place. we shall see, jjf It's a gas, gas, gas...
  23. Avoiding the typical discussion on Religion, Faith, Etc..... Let's look at it this way. Your born, You live, You die. Saying so, what is the measure of a man or woman's life? We help those who are helpless because it shows our ability to love. We lend a hand to those that need it, because it shows our ability to care. It's not about suicide, it's not about death. It's about life. It's about love. In the scheme of things, whether you believe in the afterlife, or not, is irrelevant as well. Your quality of life increases significantly as well as the others around you, when you reach outside of yourself and give another your time. Period. We all do die, in many many ways, and it's the most unavoidable thing there is. However, when someone nearby is dying, whether self induced or accidentally, are you going to pause to reflect whether or not to help, or are you going to simply insert yourself and give everything you got to save someone elses ass? I'm no hero, and never will be, but I enjoy a hug, an I Love you, and the feeling that I just made a difference more than anything I've ever enjoyed in life, including a good skydive. Regarding being late for work or missing that day? LOL!!!! PLEASE!!!! I WORK 50 HOURS OR MORE A WEEK, A BREAK EVERY NOW AND THEN IS NO BIGGIE. If your ever in need, for any reason, I hope someone nearby doesn't hesitate to provide. I hope they lift a hand and reach out. Blue Skies, and Peace to You, And? Thank God They Got Them Down, Jack It's a gas, gas, gas...
