  1. Good point... I actually by most meats frozen, in bulk. I avoid boneless skinless anything. To do that, I typically buy the chicken whole or pieces and clean and debone myself.... Also, even though thigh meat is fattier, it's still good and it's incredibly cheap to buy the thigh mean and clean it. I like to throw it and breast into stir fry.... Pork is tough as hell to buy, very expensive, have to keep an eye out for deals there.... Same for beef... Veggies aren't too bad, but, again you've gotta shop your ass off.... Truly, putting a scratch meal on the table is a hell of alot cheaper than prepackaged shit anyday. You just have to be frugal. One Meat, One Starch, One Veg, One Fruit. What would be a good challenge is to see who could build what kind of meal, at what price. Hell, with bargain wines, you can even include Wine! I know I'm weird, But I love to cook as much as SkyDive, Jack It's a gas, gas, gas...
  2. I try like hell to avoid them. The way I do that is I work real hard through the week to avoid any prepackaged meals. I make damn near everything from scratch. Fresh Vegetables, I prepare the meat, pasta, etc.... I know it sounds daunting, but actually it is not. It's easy, fresh veg, fresh fruit, etc...... Good stuff It's a gas, gas, gas...
  3. How bout we drag him out to QLeap and jump our asses off then get drinks? It's a gas, gas, gas...
  4. You all truly are amazing. I only hope I can show the same kind of support for your lives when it's needed. I look forward to years of jumping and sharing with each of you and I'm blessed to know you all. In short? Ya all Rock. peace, Jack It's a gas, gas, gas...
  5. Big Time Chris, Big Time. My son has been the center of my universe since he stepped into this world. However, as depression often does, it clouds vision, takes away what is truth. Distorts, puts up barriers. Our entire family has been devastated by it. Were all trying very hard to pick up the pieces. The fact that he is still with us makes it all bearable. But were still frightened, we don't want to lose him. So, I know why your family had tears, it sounds to me, like me, that they got to keep the one they loved too, which is big, way big. Much warmt to you and your family, Looking forward to jumping with you some day. Jack It's a gas, gas, gas...
  6. It may sound crazy but it's really taught me to look at people differently. Many Many Many people are so touched by the overwhelming pain of a situation like this. It's really incredible how many people just stop in their paths and tell you, if you need anything, let me know. It really makes you stop and reassess your life as well, pay attention to what's really important and to hell with the rest. For instance, there are alot of bickering fights on this site. Petty things. However, when someone here needs love, help, sharing, etc.... Everyone stands up and offers their best. Good Stuff Folks. Find anything better than people standing up and reaching out, go ahead, I dare you, try. You all really have made me step back and pay attention. Truly. Thanks For All Of It, Jack It's a gas, gas, gas...
  7. He will be home shortly. His recovery in the last few weeks have been nothing short of amazing. He went from death's door (the other side of it) to standing upright and punching me in the arm in 30 days. Last nite I watched him in the rec room, sitting with his first love, watching a movie. Smiling from ear to ear, both of them were. We've still a long road to haul. There's much more rehab to be done as well as additional therapies. Bottom line though, I got my hug and kiss goodnite tonite. Thanks to all that prayed and offered support and love. Keep it up. My hope is he moves forward, continues rebounding and has a shot at all the things we all want out of life. Much Love to everyone of you for your support. It warms my heart and makes me proud to be a skydiver. You all truly Rock. jjf it's a gas, gas, gas It's a gas, gas, gas...

  22. I think your completely right. I was at the dz this weekend for the first time since shit weather hit the midwest. Ran into one of my favorite jm's. He mentioned how happy he was to see I wasn't posting alot on dz.com, and we talked. I told him that I realized after a while that I had less to say than most. I realized that I needed to sit back quietly and read and learn from those on this site that had experience, etc.... I understand now what he was getting at too though. That was us low timers should really attempt to constrain our mouths when someone is asking a technical question. That our zeal to help could end up injuring someone (or worse). Which was a fine point indeed. I know I very carefully pick and choose those I rely on for information. Even though, if I see something, I'll always go back to them and ask. It's hard though not to jump in when you get excited. But I've managed to do it, and I'll continue to. peace, Jack It's a gas, gas, gas...
  23. Wolves of the Calla Stephen King Good stuff, but you want to read the entire Gunslinger series prior to reading this one... peace, jjf It's a gas, gas, gas...
  24. Lisa thanks. I was fairly flat on both dives (lol - I believe). I was getting some good forward movement (it felt). However, looking back at it, I think I was probably more delta than track. I'll continue to work it. Last but not least. Good point about the soreness. I made two jumps yesterday and I am aching in all my joints (legs and arms) which has never happened before. However, my second jump yesterday was mainly tracking (which I had never done before). It was so much fun though. You rock, thanks for taking out a couple minutes to answer me. Blue Skies, Jack It's a gas, gas, gas...
