  1. arguably... quartering the slider is just about the most important thing to do while packing... that and nice, little, neat line stows. My advice... figure out how to 'quarter the slider'. Your canopy and body will thank you! have fun! Chaps Carpe diem
  2. thanx man! I promist to enjoy them. I'll look for you guys tomorrow Trent... C-ya! Chaps Carpe diem
  3. Hey all you spaceland freeflyers! I'll be stopping by on my way home from Louisianna this sunday... hope to see some of you guys there! Chaps Carpe diem
  4. Hey all! It's been awhile since I've posted on this thread... but I just wanted to say I finally have learned to slow up! I've even gained more control in my modified position! The only problem I'm having now is flying in and grabbing docks... I sink out when I'm almost there... but after watching my video a thousand times I've realized it's because I get so excited about grabbing a foot or a hand that I revert back to the original 'lazy' body position I first learned. Oh well... I guess it's just jumps! Yeehaw! Chaps Carpe diem

    I owe beer!

The most amazing thing happened on Sunday! A good friend and I went and did a nice jump... flew a perfect flower out the door... nice transition to sit... and then- for the first time- I flew a hand to foot (my hand) for a while! I gotta tell you.. this just keeps getting better! C-ya, Chaps Carpe diem
  7. First load of the day... on a Friday after taking the week off... I get a little more anxiety than usual. After that first bath though...It's just gone Chaps Carpe diem
  8. Yeah... I want to see the rig! Please... specifically show the mods so I can see the differences. I have a new g3 with all the freefly bells and whistles... what makes the wings wingsuit options safer for wingsuit? Chaps Carpe diem
  9. I had been working at a bunjee jump park for a while and met a lot of adrenaline junkies there... alot of them told me that I should try jumping. My boss then started jumping and talked to me his whole way through AFF and up to 100 jumps. Watching video of him freeflying with some other guys I had met at the park was too much! It wasn't until I saw what you could actually do that I wanted it real bad. I frinished AFF 6 weeks and six jumps later Chaps Carpe diem
  10. I did one six months ago for a speech class here at TXstate. I'm looking for it. It's pretty general... just explains skydiving from a jumpers point of view and talks about common misconceptions. I'll PM you if I find it. Chaps Carpe diem
  11. way to handle a bad situation Conway! Glad to hear everything is OK. Thanks for posting this... Chaps Carpe diem
  12. Yeah... I did my AFF at Skydive Dallas and actually got my A liscense from Skydive San Marcos... as long as you have an instructor sign off on your A-proficiency card then you're good to go as far as USPA is concerned! Chaps Carpe diem
  13. I hope your right conway! If it could just give us a couple of loads That would be great! Chaps Carpe diem

  16. Man... what a tease! I woke up early... went out to my work (over an hour drive) and picked up my paycheck... drover another long while and showed up at the DZ. A little overcast and windy... but nothing we couldn't handle... but, unfortunately, there was no pilot available and the otter isn't ready till tomorrow! Well, I hope all of you had a better FRI! C-ya Chaps Carpe diem
  17. Well, I was in a plane many times before I took the dive... but my friend in Dallas (Josh) has exactly the same number of jumps as he does takeoff's! He has taken off over 500 times in an airplane and NEVER landed in one! How messed up is that! Chaps Carpe diem
  18. Well, the weather report is shedding some light on the subject! I don't want to say it yet... but maybe tomorrow we'll........................................
  19. My dropzone (skydive san marcos) is supposed to pick up our new otter tomorrow! But as I'm looking out the window right now.. I'm not sure if I'll get to jump it... for the second weekend in a row... due to bad weather I just wanted to boast/gripe! Hope everybody has a good weekend! Chaps Carpe diem
