In normal clothing what's a reasonable target for tracking at YO/LM? The treeline? Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

Brian Germain's "The Parachute and its Pilot" is an excellent way of learning what you need to learn, it's a very accessible read. I will gladly post you my copy if you would like it. Seriously. Our British weather does not always make it easy but all I would recommend is spending a whole weekend opening at 10k and slowly, conservatively exploring your parachutes envelope. That doesn't necessarily mean doing anything radical or scary but I really think it would be worthwhile and it may give your confidence and safety a massive boost. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

Another McBASE jumper enters the sport, massively under prepared, massively under qualified, taking terrible advice and either unwilling to spend the 10 minutes it would take to find those things out or just unwilling to do anything about it. A "mentor" who is displaying similar qualities and worst of all, a mentor who is abusing one of the most powerful positions of trust a man can hold. Yes Jaap, congratulations to all involved, a real step forwards in this fledgling sport of ours. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

...and so the degradation of BASE continues. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

Yes it matters greatly! Looking at the horizon puts you in to an arch and will spoil your body position. Keep your head down and play with the angle to find the sweet spot. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

From the guestbook on www.shaunbartlett.com: I just downloaded "Sometimes Divided" from iTunes and listened to it over a lazy packjob. Infact it's on its second play. It's good. Very chilled. Very simple stripped down sound. His voice and the production reminds me a bit of Willy Mason. Definately recommended. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

I feel your pain, V2 ordered on April 21st. But I remain calm in a zen-like state of patience, for I know it will be worth the wait. Oh yes, she will be mine. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

Most definitely. Your fallrate may be slow but your total velocity is as high as a normal terminal jump. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

Is there any mileage in PD's new "low volume" F111 for BASE? Imagine one of VKB's funky rigs or even a conventional WSX-treme with a dramatic reduction in volume. Seems like there's potential for ultra lightweight / low volume rigs. But I don't really know much about the fabric, would it be strong enough? Would you trust it? Is the BASE environment too tough for it? Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

Exciting stuff dude! Can you post bigger pictures? It's difficult to see much in those ones. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

Happy birthday Tracy, see you out there soon. Shit Maury, 1000...... nice work fella

You'll be very lucky if that £2000 covers AFF and kit. A new rig will set you back more than £3000. AFF in the UK must be about £1500. Once you're qualified jumps are around £20 each. I would not consider one a month to be current, you should be looking at 50 a year as a minimum. And if you really fall in love with the sport one a month will not be enough anyway . If I had the altitude and the canopy wan't diving too violently I'd try and cut the brake line with my hook knife. I've landed my Crossfire2 at ~1.8 in no winds with no toggle input and it was fine, just be gentle on the risers and ready to plf. Reserves malfunction too remember, I'm not whipping mine out unless I really have to. I would also find a better way of stowing the excess, I never really liked the bungee method. I have a bit of elastic on the opposite side of the riser. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

"skyflyers" tend to be French or from Michigan... Idiot!

Did you actually read the book before calling the author an idiot? I've read it and I'm pretty sure that line was tongue firmly in cheek. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com -
Here's a picture of some dork in a Lazer Downhill (paragliding helmet). It's very light but quite big as you can in the pic. If I'm not jumping camera I normally just use my ProTec. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

Very cool to see that, thanks for the pics. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

This article from PD is a good start. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

As shown to me by Skreamer: (1) Lay the canopy on its side like you're going to flat pack it. (2) Stack the b's on the a's, c's on the b's, d' on the c's, brakes on the d's. (3) Roll it up like you're psycho packing, including the lines. Stop when you get to the risers. (4) Rotate the rolled up canopy/lines by 90 degrees so it fits your container. Put it in the container and close it up. (5) Do something VERY obvious so you don't jump it! Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

God and the Weathergirl really did a great good, the whole thing was very smooth with no real drama. *Sniff* *sniff* I love you guys! The OSF and NMT teams were all super cool too. I've put up a few pics too, the full hi res ones will go up tonight. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

Really nicely edited Darren and it looks like your jumps went well too, nice one. And if UC is not in porno with those shades then he should be. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

As a slight thread hijack: What's the advantage of a one pin rig over a two pin rig? Why make both? Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
