The Joker hatched a cunning plan to get on to Batman's lap. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

Membership of the British Parachute Association cost £105 (~195 USD) this year , up from £71.50 (~130 USD) last year. The rise was mainly down to a 150% increase in the cost of 3rd party insurance. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

Because when the canopy first comes out of the bag its inflated span is restricted by the span (width) of the slider. A bigger (wider) slider = less restriction on the opening canopy. Maybe. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

Well in the absence of the great man himself let me point you to his website where said pictures can be found. Gus (a pale imitation) OutpatientsOnline.com

Why BASE? I ask myself that on every jump, usually as I'm kitting up. The calm before the storm. On my last jump I was literally talking to myself (bad/nervous habit!) about it as I climbed over the rail. The best way I've found of describing it is that it's like a moth to a flame - you know it's a bad idea, you know you're going to get burnt and yet here you find yourself once again, climbing over a rail and having a conversation with yourself! But when you jump and when you land in one piece you suddenly remember why.

I have a white one but it's the only one I've ever seen. I got it 2nd hand but it's worked fine. If in doubt, ask L&B. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

Oh man, the one you showed me a while back? Nice object. That's a real shame, I was looking forward to coming back and jumping it again. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

Brian Vacher runs his Safe Flight School out of Lillo, he's a nice guy and also an AFF instructor so has plenty of teaching experience. From what I've heard the same goes for the canopy coach at Empuria but I can't remember his name. Edited to add: Thanks Piishfish, Reinier is the name I was thinking of. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

I just got C1 & 2 and liked them both. On first viewing I thought C2 was better, more varied footage. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

Something I learned about release pins while paragliding.

Yes it can happen in skydiving too. Check out this thread. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com -
How do i get my container from the Good ole US of A?
gus replied to mikemc's topic in Gear and Rigging
There are always plenty of people off to the US on jumping holidays. Ask around at the dz or put a post on uk.rec.skydiving, it's not normally too difficult to bribe someone in to helping you out. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com -

I just read this on Jason's bridge day site and was wondering what people thought. Jason, what's the reaction been? Local residents and businesses? Police? Rangers? I imagine that the success of TF could be a real help in putting your case forward. Also, this entruiged me: I'm not familiar with the area at all but I thought there was only one landing area. Is it for sale? I think it's a great idea, good luck. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

Try this. If it doesn't work I can email it to you. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

I rarely ask for a check but if someone offers I'll normally let them. I have one friend at least who prefers to have checked who he's jumping with. If it makes him feel better and I trust him to do it then why not. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

There's also Fly Your Body (the S-Fly and Access) and the Sugar Glider and probably others. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

They do accomplish the same thing but using one method everyone knows the landing direction as soon as they're open (if not before) and using the other there is considerable room for uncertainty. If I wasn't happy then I would gladly land elsewhere. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

I don't know. At my home dz they put it out in nil or very light winds. It's big, it's yellow, you can see it from >3k up and it leaves very little room for error. Makes sense to me but I guess it's just what I'm used to. Hey BB, we've booked flights to AZ for March (forward planning!) so I'll come and try your crazy system out . Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

I think the '1st person down' rule is horrible and a disaster waiting to happen. If there's not enough wind to inflate a windsock for people to follow then put an arrow out and everyone lands in that direction regardless. If the conditions are quite variable and you're not happy jumping with a fixed direction then maybe you shouldn't be jumping. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

Nice job on putting Continuum I on DVD, I don't even own a VHS player. Have ordered them both as well. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

Is the container yours? Get that velcro replaced or consider ordering a set of velcroless risers/toggles from RW. It seems like a bit of a 'soft' mal if you see what I mean. I'm not saying you did wrong by chopping but I am saying it's easily avoidable. Reserves don't work 100% of the time and badly maintained velcro seems like a daft reason to trust your life to one. Then you're on the wrong tracking dives . But you're right, most tracking dives are like that. But the point is that it gives you something to track relative to and from there you can see how your body position changes your vector. Gus OutpatientsOnline.com

Actually I think the larger canopies may be more susceptible to self induced twists because of the longer lines. These self induced twists occur because the canopy turns but you don't. I did it on a Quadra 150 at about 30 or 40 jumps and scared myself quite a bit . Be careful! Gus OutpatientsOnline.com
