Here are two poems I wrote about skydiving (I) and my guy (II) but they actually came about through a pack of stickers. Some of the words in the poem are stickers (all caps) and I picked the words out at random and made the poem around them. No titles yet so they are numbered. I. I tried, didn't work I'll have a week in Florida with him coming up in December. I've never jumped in FL so I told him if he doesn't jump with me I'll break his legs. Then I thought, I could just hide his wing suit for the week I can play dumb and cute, "No, I don't know where it went " --I really wouldn't do this, he feinds for his nylon crack too hard-- Things will work out (I hope). Has everyone forgotten the importance of being educated (not even formally educated, just not being plain stupid) and physics? As skydivers, I guess we assume everyone knows that what goes up must come down. Humanity dissapoints me more and more every day. Eventually, they will kill themselves off, maybe by just inducting eachother (hopefully). The world would be better off not having stupid peices of sh*$ like that around. That's a really good poem. I find that with subjects like that one, I let my emotions run wild in the poem and ruin it. You did a wonderful job of conveying the emotion and creating a mental image with your descriptions and word choice. Send some more our way please

That was a really good poem. I posted my two skydiving poems under the other poetry thread. Check em out, let me know what you think. My don't rhyme but they are free verse. I'm trying to get them published and my professor said that it would be easier to do if they didn't rhyme. I had to hold back at some points in the poem and not rhyme but man it does make it a lot harder to write a poem that way. I learned a lot from my teacher who is an amazing poet. I know nothing was his fault, just easiest way to describe it seeing as I was on the ground when it happened. I know I can survive, I just feel so inadequate compared to him/his experience and don't want him to feel like he has to jump with me. I want him to jump with me when he wants to, not when I want him to. That would defeat the purpose, so until then I patiently wait

I was thinking about that but when he went out on a rodeo with someone else, it put him in a nasty spin. I ruled that out untill he can straighten out the spin issues. I've always been one to form my own opinion and not think much of others comments but being an inexperienced jumper, I take things to heart when more experienced jumpers throw in their 2 cents. The people I heard things from aren't from Florida and were just speaking of their experiences at the different dz's-not really bad mouthing as so much informing. I'm just afraid I will screw up and not be welcome or I will be scorned publicly for something I do [happened at my home dz, lots of 4 letter words were thrown at me under canopy while trying to land. I wasn't even doing anything wrong according to several other raltional and experienced jumpers, one guy took it upon himself to yell because he thought I was flaring too high. I stood up the landing and it was a nice and soft touch down but it really discouraged me and made me not want to jump after that.] I have yet to do anything too stupid, off dz landing's about it- my ear drum popped and I was totally disoriented and touched down just off the landing area- definitely not endangering other jumpers though. I just want this vacation to be stress free and I want to have a good time.
