Need a nice way of saying "Stopping suck snot back into your nose"
jdthomas replied to StreetScooby's topic in The Bonfire
just walk up and ask that he stop doing that! Explain that it bothers you and that you would like to address the issue. Perhaps voice your concerns with the big boss that this guy could be getting you all sick and that the company will have a large abstentee rate if this guy does not control his sickness. You have to just be assertive sometime, team leader or not if this is an issue then step up to the issue and take care of it. www.greenboxphotography.com -
Have you ever gone into someone's home that was really filthy and...
jdthomas replied to Muenkel's topic in The Bonfire
I worked in home health care for a few years.. been to some really nasty houses. Come out coated in fleas and once i picked up equipment as i was told it did not work.. once I got it out of the pile of junk that suronded it I found that it had gotten maggots inside the machine! The house had a hole in a wal that went outside, they stuffed the hole with clothing and who knows what else. I don't recall those people offering me any food or drink, but others that wehere comprable had. I told them it was agasint company policy and I could not accept anything. www.greenboxphotography.com -
Who's upset? Just think that it's odd thats all... of course this is coming from aguy who has a dog tounge in his ear! that was a fun day on the boat, natasha really likes the lake and swimming.. makes her feel young and she wanted to wrestle.. she did a sneak attack on my ear thats for sure. Winter sucks, my dogs, my wife and I miss the lake already. good luck with your game, sorry that I took away part of the fun. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com

I still have a beeper (pager) and my boss sends out annoying pages all the time for nothing.. wich sucks because I think it's going to be a real call (ambulance worker) and it's nothing important. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com

well since thats my dog and my boat then I would guess that the body is mainly myself, but not sure about what you have done to the rest of me or why for that matter. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com

fun story.. My dogs helped change my life. I tease my wife all the time and tell her she domesticated me, but really I think it was the dogs that domesticated me. www.greenboxphotography.com

its frustrating to have people not move to the side when we are trying to run hot. The service I work for avoids the lights and siren if we can, we have found and stydys prove that running hot does not always get you there faster and can seat more hazards in the process. on occassion it is a must to have the lights going and the sirens on. Alot of people must forget what was taught to them in drivers ed, move to the side for emergency vehicles, driving in the left lane when not overtaking another car..etc, etc. As someone that occassionally drives a ambulance, it also makes us uneasy when family follow us or anyone for the matter when we are driving with the lights on. I usally ask the family to not do this and when they don't comply I guess I am an ass but I radio the local pd to come in behind us and slow them down. Please pull over and do so with caution and with safety in mind. thank you www.greenboxphotography.com

Chuteless Stunt Twisted into "Guy with Terminal Cancer chooses..."
jdthomas replied to BIGUN's topic in The Bonfire
I like the empty sports drink can spinning off into who knows where. I don't think I would want this stuff over the net if I was the PIC of the aircraft that let this happen, jump or the trash dump. www.greenboxphotography.com -
I am really digging what he is saying as well, most of his stuff seems spot on to me and as of right now he has my vote. www.greenboxphotography.com

hammy Christina and I both like the drag bars. I like the parking spot as well, reminds me of when I got rid of my dining room table so I had more rigging space.. needless to say that did not go over well with that girlfriend of the time, and maybe thats one of the reasons why she left.. but I had more room and that was fine with me! My grandmother lives in Muskogee, that would be awesome to have boogie there. it's funny that she and my grandfather used to want me to come down and watch the parachuters back in the day and I just did not have much intrest in it then.. regrets I guess! Maybe I can make up for that time if you can get the boogie going. Joe www.greenboxphotography.com

John Digging teh updates.. I jus dream about floating like that.. i did some back in the scout's and will again someday. My wife and I go camping and rock climbing now, we are very basic even though we could be classed into "car campers" as we camp where we park. But once "in camp" we are very basic and don't bring any cold foods, we eat alot of mt house brand camp meals that just take water, we do two pots and one small fuel stove. Two cups, one of wich doubles as a measuering cup as well do a few nalgene bottels.. but we have sporks and a knife, one very small camp table, cutting board and a towel, sponge and we are set with a very small spice rack. We also have invested in alot of the ultralight camping gear and clothing. When i was in scouts it was what ever was cheapest, I can see the diffrence in the good gear thats for sure. Anyway, looks great and keep it up! Joe www.greenboxphotography.com

Anyone know a little somethin' 'bout publishing a book?
jdthomas replied to windcatcher's topic in The Bonfire
Do you want to self publish? I worked with people who self published for a few years and watched as many of them lost there butts on the money side.. there are many pitfalls to watch for. Self publishing is not cheap (usally) and stuff like 4 color process, nice paper, and binding can add up quick in cost. Do you still have my # from that hot date we never had? call me or write me on the "haze" and I will help you where I can.. is chad taking good care of my kids? www.greenboxphotography.com -
The project of the rig back pack took me about one hour from start to finish.. I had no pattern to go from and the kid i was making it for was not available for sizing either.. everything fit him great after the fact so that was luck I guess. I have had about 7 industrial machines, all purcahsed from clothing companys going over seas and one upholstery dude going out of business.. no machine cost me over 100$ and I got two for 100$ once. I quick resold the machine to fellow riggers at cheap prices as well. I do more sewing for rock climbers, back packers then for anything else. My mother who worked in a garmet factory taught me how to sew and since we where dirt poor it was a must for us to lessen the cost of clothing for the family. In school I took sewing classes as I already could sew and it was an easy grade for me when I struggled in other areas. helped balance out my grades a bit. www.greenboxphotography.com

Did you not take sewing class in school? Maybe there is an adult ed program out there as well in your area. I would say just start sewing, learn some diffrent seams and just start sewing. The gear bag, get an idea of what you, draw it out with the sizes you want and build it.. sewing is construction work, just no hammer and nails! I often just sit down on the floor with no patterne but an idea in my head and start building. sometimes I am just wasting time as it's a creative outlet like painting could be for artist. last thought, if you are going to be a rigger and have the cash.. go buy a real machine and not your wifes machine! Here are some picks I did of a mini rig/backpack for my friends son! nothing to go by, i just started cutting and sewing. www.greenboxphotography.com
