This is an English speaking white African. I guess I just want to know the proper or semi-formal/friendly way to say hello and goodbye. I had worked with some cameramen one year when I helped set up all the sound boards, ran wire to and from trailers and other misc stuff for the ATP when it came to town and I think I recall them using it a bit but the company I contracted with was from the UK so I thought I may be wrong. Thanks!

This is a serious question. I know a lot of other non-American English speaking countries say it but I'm curious as to if it is used in South African culture. I'm trying to be polite to someone I will need to correspond with through work who I found out is from South Africa. I know its not the same but often when I speak with an Indian colleague I say hello, thank you and how are you doing in Hindi which caught him by surprise the first time I did it. Thanks!

Yep. Considering we just purchased three companies, two of which are starting their peak seasons because of the upcoming holidays, I'm busier than I've ever been. On top of that I just got done doing an upgrade to our XenApp servers but that has actually helped me to now concentrate more on the expansion of our current systems to accommodate the recent purchases. I'm going to be working on Friday too. Meh, I'd rather be busy though than looking for a job.

Yeah I've seen that. Not exactly the same though. It seems to have more potential than to just share pictures and play with them on a table. That table wouldn't last too long if kids ever visited your house with any frequency. I could imagine yelling "watch where you set that beer!" quite a few times in a night as well.

That sucks man. I have no respect for cheaters. Been cheated on myself once and washed my hands of the cheater. Luckily it hadn't gotten too serious between us yet. Seems like you lucked out that way too. Sorry that happened to you bro but its good that it did early on. Now, for pics, bring 'em!!

Do you really think it would "encourage" people to be careless around a screaming saw blade out to rip through anything in its path including your fingers? The only person even willing to get their fingers near that thing to test it was the maker.

I think I recall them saying on the show last night that the saw stop parts that needs to be replaced after a successful stop is around $60. Well worth it IMHO.

Whats it going to hurt you to go to the Dr.? I had an inguinal hernia years back. It didn't hurt. The doctor told me I didn't have to get surgery but suggested it because he said it could get worse and I could need more extensive surgery if it did. I'm thinking if its painful there might have been damage done to the part of the intestines that came through the wall of your muscles in your abdomen, but I'm not a doctor and you should go see your's soon! Just my $.02

Yeah you are right, and I had something happen that was pretty similar. The guy I took over our Citrix farm from after he left did not set any limit on the size of the security logs. It didn't crash but would not let any more people on the servers. Yeah, its always IT's fault. Weren't you told that when you started working in the IT world? What I hate is when someone asks "what did you guys do?" when things start going wrong/crashing.
