Exactly. And I agree with the correlation between standing in line with a friend and talking on a phone, although there are times when two people talking in line at volumes meant to summon children from the far corners of a playground can be no less annoying and deserving of irritated scorn. Common courtesy seems to be slipping further by the wayside, and I don't necessarily believe that technology is solely to blame. Yeah, I uh, was ll amped up on Jolt cola and there was this field...the pay wasn't great, but I got to make the keen designs out there. I had to make something up that sounded a bit more interesting than, "I lost it on the way to my car from the packing area or vice-versa." I recently lost the nose guard to my Gatorz Converters in a high-speed corn shucking accident, and when I e-mailed the company to ask if I could purchase a new nose guard, the CEO emailed me back and said for me to e-mail my address and they would send one out to me free of charge! I don't care how little or how much it costs, it was a stand-up gesture, and I'm appreciative of it. My boss is the nicest guy I have ever worked for. He trusts me to do my job to the best of my ability, helps me when I'm not sure how to proceed, provides lots of positive feedback and lets me know where and how to improve. Best boss ever. (sigh) The depths that I have descended to in my self-imposed exile from the west coast. She is a sweetie...when haven't done something ridiculous to piss her off. What? I took the temporary curative elixer just before she got here. Either that, or I forgot to put the contact lenses in. Your choice. Besides, if I show those eyes around Steve, he starts sprinkling holy water with garlic on me. You weren't terrible company. We were thrilled to have you visit us, so you could do no wrong in our eyes. Hopefully we'll get to see you again some time soon. The story that this movie was VERY loosely based on is that of Anneliese Michel. There is, obviously, some heated controversy over whether or not she was truly "possessed". Here's (clicky) ONE refutation, and here's (clicky) the basic story. Whether it was spiritual or physiological in nature, it was still an interesting case study in the human mind and how it handles things that can't be readily explained.
