Okay, I have an update on the helmet air-brushing. I haven't actually picked it up yet, but the guy had some really awesome artwork and seemed as if he could accomplish what I was after. I'll post pics as soon as I get it, but her helmet is supposed to have "Cora's Own" (a play on her name, Corazon) across the front, then a silhouette of a head-down freeflyer with cloud patterns off in the distance (down the sides and back of the helmet). The artist also explained to me that he has always wanted to skydive and was surprised that the price for AFF was as cheap as I quoted him. I gave him a bumper sticker and pointed him in the right direction. Who knows, maybe our DZ will have its own airbrush artist/skydiver soon. My sister sent me that game about three years ago. I'm the KING of that game. The secret is to move all the way to the bottom of the screen and slowly work your way up...on the more difficult levels. Edited to add: That's what I get for not actually PLAYING the game before I commented on it. I was thinking of snowcraft. So, apparently you know the IP address of the cable modem? You said you can't ping it, but that's most likely because your laptop is on a different subnet right now than the cable modem. If you know the IP address of the cable modem, try setting your IP address for your LAN card to something in the DHCP range of the cable modem and see if you can ping it there. Does the broadband device have a web interface that you could pull up via IP address in your browser? You know, to check configuration there? Is the broadband device set to serve as a DHCP server, and if not were you given a static IP address to use on your system? Ah, NOW we venture into territory I'm more familiar with. I just did that about two years ago. The divorce happened a bit earlier than that, but the move was prompted by my desire to start over and get away from the part of the country I had been living in. The bottom line is, move where you will feel comfortable. I moved to the southeast to be closer to my father, who I never really got to spend much time with growing up. If you have family and think you would be happier for a time being closer to them, move someplace near them that you can tolerate. If you don't have any family you would enjoy living near, find someplace that suits your temperament and temperature preferences. Life is too short to not be happy.
