Yes, based on the description of the film, the title and one or two other obvious indications, I was able to guess that it might be based on that video game. I haven't played it, but I still found the video funny. I was actually asking about the cinematography. Or was that derived from the game as well? I'm just curious if there were any other influences for the film aside from the game and Office Space. Hang on there. I used to be a network operations manager for a large company, and we had a dual-os environment, NT for applications servers and Novell for file and print servers. The Novell side of the house rarely had a problem, and if it DID, it at least tried to repair ITSELF and let you know how many times it had to partially abend. Any time my NT servers went down, day, night, vacation, it was back to work I trudged to manually restart and repair the NT side of the house. Of course, it did get a little dicey once, coming in to see that my main file server (for a large corporation) had a "" before the prompt. I only have one BASE jump to my name, but that was after a year of asking questions and waiting until the people who could be my mentors watched me skydive and determined that I was ready for a relatively "safe" jump. From what you are saying, it sounds like the potential mentors in your area are not responsive at this stage in your skydiving experience. Perhaps you could contact people who were mentored in your area and get some ideas from them, as well as letting them know that you would like to start when they (potential mentors) have watched you fly the previously mentioned canopies and land them safely. It's also a good idea to do ground crew on as many BASE jumps as local jumpers will allow. It doesn't cost a dime to offer to go with these people and perform necessary functions from the ground. It'll give you better perspectives on things as you go through all of the same briefings and landing area walkthroughs as the jumpers. Plus, you can video them from the ground and watch body position, canopy control and other important aspects of the jump to compare with what potential mentors will brief you on. My first jump was cake: large landing areas on all sides, no support wires to avoid and a mentor who took his time detailing the jump, landing area and safety issues. I don't plan on doing any more BASE jumps until my mentor feels it's time. It's all about patience, and if you don't have it/can't exercise it, experienced BASE jumpers will tend to shy away from you...with good reason. Ask for guidance, show a willingness to wait and learn as much as you possibly can and don't pester the hell out of experienced BASE jumpers and you'll find people willing to guide you on the right paths. Okay, I'd like to provide an update and welcome some new members to the fold. This weekend saw Zesty Beef, Beef Tenderfoot and Chipped Beef (#13) join the ranks at Beef Base Alpha. Beef Tenderfoot narrowly avoided the moniker "Smeagol Beef", but since that name tends to be associated with male critters, we shied away from it...for now. My brain is oatmeal, so witticisms are nil at this point. Perhaps once I've regained my faculties, I'll have more to say, but for now, suffice it to say that these new members are welcomed with open arms and lots of gravy.
