  1. It's snowing right now in my neighborhood! I just got back from the Thai Sky Festival with 90+ degree heat and 100% humidity jumping out of a couple C-130s and here I am now in the snow!! Is it really spring? I'm going to go out and buy a box of that summer ale and see if that helps. I love Sam Adams! I visited the factory in Boston last Oct. It was great fun!
  2. My parents have been married for 48 years so far. My grandparents were married for 67 years before they both passed on. JohnMitchell and I have been married for 24 years so far.
  3. I've seen a few people that bring a sitter out to the DZ to watch their kid/s. (Just an idea) When my kids were babies it was easy to find someone to hold them while my husband and I jumped. When they got a bit bigger my husband and I took turns jumping. I'd watch the kids (4 kids by the way) while he made a jump and vis versa. When they got older and could hold their own it got a bit easier but then they began to get their own lives too (birthday parties, friends, sports, band, school stuff) and that made jumping hard at times. You have to let them have their time too! Now that they are teenagers, we just leave them at home most of the time. I haven't got as many jumps as I "should have" over the years, but I have a balanced life and great kids. I wouldn't trade that for any amount of jumps. Jumping doesn't have to be a competition to see how many jumps you have or what team you can be on. When you have a family sometimes just making a jump or two is good enough. Then you go home, make dinner and read bed time stories. That is good too.
  4. I was 16 and went out to the DZ with friends. My parent's weren't around so I'd left them a note. "Dear Mom and Dad, went skydiving. Be back later. Love ya!" They thought it was a joke. Several weeks later when they got the ER bill they realized it wasn't a joke. (A building sorta got in my way on my 11th jump. Stupid building!) They were more concerned about me dating the skydiving instructor than the actual jumping out of planes for some reason. Two years after I married the instructor they came out to the DZ to see me jump. They were OK with it by then.
  5. Wow! You really know what girls like! Love, Courtney Love
  6. What is the sound of two balls clapping?
  7. According to JohnMitchell.... Planes can't fly faster than 287 miles an hour indicated air speed (or 250 knots) below 10,000 ft. He thinks airport traffic areas may have even lower speed limits. (probably have to ask a pilot for a more sure answer on that one) If he didn't have a clearance to buzz a field like that he was a fool.
  8. Happy Birthday! Have a terrific day!
  9. Funny story: JohnMitchell and I were out to dinner at a pub in Seattle one evening. When we left I noticed that my shoe had come untied and asked him to hold my purse while I tied it. We were in front of a big picture window of the pub. There was a large group of women inside the pub watching us and I didn't realize it. As I got back up from tying my shoe I caught JohnMitchell holding my bag up and pointing at it, shaking his head and mouthing exaggeratedly to all the women inside "NOT MINE!" They were all laughing hysterically. JohnMitchell has actually never balked at holding my purse when I needed him to. I've often seen other men holding a purse or bag for their lady and I find it very endearing and sweet. Big bonus points for guys that will do things like that.
  10. Sounds good. I put a hold on it at the library.
  11. K, I'm responding since I was named... My kids have been out at a DZ since BEFORE they were born. I can't remember what age exactly Brett started packing but he was little. I remember wuffo's coming out and seeing this little boy packing everyone's chutes and their eyes would bug out. At the same time as soon and the skydivers would land they would RUN up to Brett to get in line first for his pack jobs. That kid can pack a chute in record time and give it a dream opening! Consequently, between JohnMitchell and Brett, I haven't packed a chute in probably 18 or 19 years now. Brett just turned 16 this December and he's waiting for some good weather before he makes that "first" jump.
  12. Well, I don't have pics of the new red one but it's just like the black one in my avatar. (only red) Use your imagination.
  13. I would go anywhere and do anything to be with my love. That's what love is all about. Unconditional.
  14. There's not a lot of women who would ever feel comfortable wearing that in public, me included. You go girl! Yeah I know... I probably should be wearing it either, but otherwise I can't stay down with the formation. However, it's not like I'm wearing it to the grocery store or the mall. It's only the DZ and that is just like wearing something at home. We're all family. Family overlooks a lot of stuff.
  15. After not being able to jump since Sept. because of weather and illness and kid stuff.... I got three jumps in today! Tested a new red stretch vinyl suit today. Needs a little adjustment but I think it will fly well for the upcoming season. Also tested a new white jumpsuit with heat wicking abilities for the upcoming Thailand trip. It flew awesome! -3-0
  16. http://www.yourdailymedia.com/media/1203869886/Myspace_Kid_Flips_Out_ cant say i agree at all.. the older kid is clearly part of the problem.. this is no different than tormenting him over his favorite toy/stuffed animal or other object he cared about.. the older kids are as responsible for the younger one as the parents are and became the abusive asshats they are BECAUSE of the parents poor skills with them as well.. pretty much everyone involved in this disgrace needs a serious ass beating.... its sad that anyone thinks tormenting the younger (over anything really WTF cares if its 'only my space') more evidence of a dysfunctional society I agree that the older kids are clearly tormenting the younger and should be held responsible. However they shouldn't be held responsible for their younger sibling. The parents are the only legally responsible persons. Where are they? The siblings have no authority over their younger sibling and shouldn't be held accountable for him. The parents should actually be there to protect that poor kid from the older kids and find out what is going on and fix it. No child should have a myspace account without supervision. (period) There is so much crap on myspace and without supervision children shouldn't be there. Again, where are the parents?
  17. I can't wait until you get a bit older and have to give up all the latest technology, fads and fashion or be scorned by the young. Your day is coming very soon.
  18. Well Dr. House is always finding that every now and then, people tell the truth.
  19. Why in the world would you want to?

That episode so funny! From the time that show aired to this day I'm always discreetly pointing out to JohnMitchell where the sun is shining so he doesn't miss anything.
  21. I picked the guy I fell in love with. No one else told me I had to go out with him or had to marry him.
  22. Oh so true!!! my last boss from SLC used to say that a LOT! Yeah, if you live there it's like a law that you have to say that I think. Everyone says that there.
  23. OH MY HECK! Of course if you actually say that everyone will know you are from Utah.
