Possible mindset: I did my first 2 BASE jumps that day hand held. I had decided that if I even started to go unstable I'd deploy. I told people about it the night before and even on the platform I thought about it: AKA if there is a stability issue, stop the jump, and use the altitude to deal with any consequences. As I jumped off that platform I started to go head low: not alot but enough for me to notice. About the same time I felt the speed pick up and felt the familiar air so I got back stable and then pitched. I've done quite a few helicopter and balloon jumps so the feeling was not unusual. I had told myself I'd deploy at the first hint of instability and I didn't. Had I got more unstable I'd like to think I would have. Changing the random costume game rules. Each person that wants to play brings a costume to donate in a paper bag. The rules for contestants: 1. Pick a random bag. 2. Put on all the contents of the bag somewhere on your body. Up to you if you take off any, some, or all of your other clothes. 3. Come out and party all night in it. Only 3 rules for the costumes: 1. At least the underwear portion must be clean. 2. Must not prevent the person from drinking. 3. Must at least cover female "bikini areas." Who's with me?

It's really cold. So cold that really the only way to survive is to share your sleeping bag with a friend. Ouch. Just exercise it and do the PT when they tell you to and stay off it when they tell ya as well. Also, if the nurse tells you you are cleared to run/walk on it, double check with the doc. Here's a goal for you: Be on the all metal load at Lost Prairie next July.
