    An observation from another thread: Just wanted to quote you on that. Had I had nothing out when I had my Cypress fire, I would have never jumped again. You didn't have enough out to keep your cypres from firing. True. I thought about that as well afterwards. I'll never truly know if my AAD saved my life/saved me from injury. Having 368 feet of canopy above me definitely gave me more time to look at my options. It may have. However prior to my Cypres firing, I had done something. It may not have been the best thing in that situation, but it was something. I made some sort of attempt to save my own life.     Well if you read the post...he was taking a SWOOPING class.he started a 90 degree front riser turn way too low...And he broke himself while swooping..i wont be doing anything of that sort for a long long long time...swoooping and coming in for a straight landing nice and slow are 2 different things...thanks Exactly.     I'd never lay my canopy down. Have a Untwist and set my brakes. Have a Cock pilot chute and unstow slider. Have a or two cuz the next step is long unless a friend helps you... Do all the upright stuff and then lay canopy down. Have a Get the air out, fold and put in bag with at least one stow. Have a Do the rest taking breaks whenever.     I thought I'd already posted in here my view. But I guess I didn't. Limiting posts changes a forum. Part of the Bonfire's charm is the vast variety and types of topics and posters in it. Some you might agree with, some you might relate to, others you would find disgusting. Kinda just like skydivers.

    I pack it up cuz packing in the morning when hungover sucks... I'll leave my gearbag and rig out in the hangar for the weekend (unless it will be a huge party) but I jump old (but safe) guttergear.

    I disagree. Technology can be used as an enhancement and a backup. It's not a replacement. I agree that anyone who is physically able to pull their main or reserve and has only their AAD save them needs to not be jumping anymore. They need to realize the only reason they are alive is because of a $1000+ piece of electronics. Some people will use technology as a replacement and others may do things they wouldn't without it, but that's the person using the technologies fault, not the technology. Who knows what the future may bring? People could think we were crazy for swooping without airbags, or maybe for even going solo in the air without tunnel time. I prefer to think of it is, "It's the best we had at the time."

    Would this only apply in the Bonfire or all forums? Would those unused posts rollover? Ie: you don't use your all or any of your 20, can you use them along with your normal 20 the next day?     Playing a little bit of devils advocate here, but carrying your phone is not without it's own risks. In a bad landing you can break it or it can injure you. Particularly if it is in a pants pocket (front or rear). Is it safer to put in a jumpsuit pocket on your upper body?     I'll admit I've been guilty of violating some of those rules in the past. This list includes but is not limited to: * Provoking * Allowing myself to be provoked * One liners I try to give myself a "time-out" after times I feel I went overboard. Having a little more encouragement to "behave" is not a bad idea IMO.
