    Granted, but the next person didn't put a negative component in the wish (one of those "fluffy" people) which cause your wish to reverse itself, and you got the exact opposite of what deep in your head you really always wanted so you couldn't just fool the wish and wish for the opposite.     Some people are real assholes, some people just try to take advantage of others, some just don't or refuse to realize what they're doing. It's best to avoid these people altogether, but that's not always possible. In those cases where you have to deal with them why "reward" their behavior by showing them the respect they don't show you? I treat the people the same publicly as I do privately. I can still be civil, but I'm not going to show them any sort of preferential or special treatment. Situations of misunderstandings are viewed as negative until proven otherwise. Pretty much a "to me the situation appears to be..." and it's up to them to prove me wrong. It takes a lot to get on my "shit list" but once one is on it it takes a lot to get off it. I try to give those people the benefit of the doubt now and then, but I don't expect a difference. I'm usually a pretty good judge of character, but happy to be proven wrong.

If I'm single at the time and I find them attractive, I may try to use it as a conversation starter. I don't feel they "owe" me anything nor do I want them to feel that either.
