Devils advocate: Segregation laws. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.

Did you really just post this? If one thinks a law is unfair, they should try and change it, not just ignore it. Should they choose to do so, they accept the risk of getting caught. Ex: Like most, I speed. Like most, I've gotten caught and had to pay fines. I accept that risk because I know in the eyes of the law, I'm wrong. Were that risk removed or lessened (smaller fine or warning), more may do it or go even faster, were that risk increased (larger fine, loss of license, jailtime, etc.) , less might do it to not as great an extent. Illegal immigrants also accept risks to come here. Remove or lessen the risk and we'd get more. Increase the risk and we'd probably get less. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.

Devolop feelings? Ish. I think you can definitely develop interest and get to know each other very well and while the video technology helps and you can experience pleasure together if desired, it's just not the same. Nothing compares to the touch, physical sight, smell, and/or taste of another and I feel until you've had this actual physical connection you can't really know for sure. I mistook it as an "official" invite as I was looking for some place to go the next weekend. I though I'd mentioned looking for airfare up there when we were talking and as the rates changed while searching I went ahead and booked before confirming ya the next day. May that be a warning to all ya'll... Your clothes are safe. I bring my own thongs and other party stuff.

As a generalization, you're right. There are definitely counter-examples of companies that realize good people are their most important resource, and cultivate them accordingly (Google springs to mind, for example). The major problem is that the larger a company is, the more leverage it has to lobby the government for special benefits. Which means that in our current system, bigger businesses tend to be the beneficiaries of government action, while smaller businesses (the kind that tend to treat their employees better) mostly get screwed. Just to sound a bit like a broken record: the problem here is the government power that's up for sale to the highest bidder--I mean campaign contributor. Get rid of that power for sale, and you see a different sort of system evolving, one that values people more, and tends to smaller businesses rather than larger ones. Is that even really possible? The same people that get the money now are the same people that would have to change the laws to stop it. Sure you could vote new people in under a "reform" mantra, but once there either they get corrupted or crushed or bulldozed by the corrupted. Somehow the old checks and balances system just isn't all that effective. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.

Wow what a crock . How many business's have you run? It is my interest to keep my good hard working employees happy and comfortable. Maybe I am just a bad entrepreneur but i believe in rewarding hard work and I think you might find many business owners feel the sqame way. And I'm sure you have good happy employees.

Profiling CEOs and Their Sociopathic Paychecks

He never said you had to buy one of "their" plans but you have to have "a" plan or you are taxed an additional amount. So health insurance is really no longer a choice. The gov't is requiring everyone to buy it. Unless you can't afford it. Then it will be "free." The real question is if you post a plagiarised comment in a blog, tweet, on FB, etc. Is the site owner somehow liable? On the flip side, if you posted an original comment on one of those sites, do you "own" it or do they? Can they take that comment and use it without compensating you? Hopefully it doesn't work for the hoster both ways, but have a feeling it might. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.

Not trying to get this moved to SC, but it's sorta like a lot of minority groups that have special organizations, want quotas, etc. but still want to be "treated the same." Same but different. Separate but equal. Didn't the US already learn this doesn't work? Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.

I'd rather fight a double mal than most women anyday. Generally way more predictable and there's a definite endpoint. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.

Profiling CEOs and Their Sociopathic Paychecks

That all depends. How much of that hole was caused by forced government regulations and how much by mismanagement? Personally I think we shouldn't bail them out but at the same time realize that they aren't the only ones responsible. That is such a load and such the mistake all "greenies" seem to make. It is possible to do the right thing for the earth and have it make fiscal sense. Hell, renewable clean energy? That's a potential gold mine. Recycling? Same deal. Not to mention the positive PR. But instead of letting consumers vote with their dollars or trying to show companies how it could make sense they went whining to the gov't. So now the gov't is telling them they have to do something, they of course want something in return.
