While we need to cut spending AND increase taxes across the board, I see no reason to do so until we can get our spending under control. At this point any tax increase would simply be used as a justification to spend even more. Wow.....never though I'd hear any lib admit it. If you read anything particular "lib" into that, either I worded it incorrectly, or you misread it. Blues, Dave Well Dave, I'd hardly characterize you as a conservative. But let me make sure I understand your post. You don't care if a universal health care program provides coverage for people who, through their own actions have caused their health problem. Am I misinterpreting? If only there was a system where people could pay for coverage they wanted/needed vs. a mandatory plan that tries to cover everyone... A proper test would be using the same policies and procedures (and federal $$$) as would be implemented nationwide on one state first then rolled out to more states as the issues were discovered and remediated or scrapped if determined too costly/ineffective. The government should take a page from corporate America on this one.

I am pretty sure it's not a Canadian thing since most vehicles up here are automatics. I have owned well over 100 cars and trucks and all but 3 have been manual. I absolutely hate driving vehicles with automatic transmissions.. and I absolutely despise the morons who use their left paw to brake and keep riding it their fucking PAW on the damn pedal....thereby keeping their brake lights on I've been known to lightly press the brake enough the light comes on while accelerating away if I think someone is following too close.

If that is the view of his/her constituency, why? Because he keeps his own homosexuality in the closet, thereby holding himself out to the public as something he ain't. How does his sexual identity impact voting the will of his district? Is he somehow more of a 'bad gay' for voting against, f'rinstance, gay marriage than he is by being married to a woman? Because that level of self oppession and denial not only isn't healthy, it's not sustainable. His own self hatred could only fuel him for so long before it destroyed him. Granted if he'd come out prior to being elected with his antigay platform, he wouldn't have had a chance in hell of being elected.
