Saw this from a report this morning: The most serious vulnerabilities appeared in California, where agents managed to complete the process to receive three temporary state driver’s licenses within two days using the same fake information. On one occasion, after one agent failed the standard eye test, a second agent stepped in for him, passed the eye test, then handed the successful results to the first agent, who had his photo taken for the license. Simultaneously, a third investigator was using the same data on another line in the same office; he also was issued a temporary license. “No one at the DMV noticed that two individuals were simultaneously using the same fictitious name and same fraudulent supporting paperwork,” the report says. And perhaps more troubling, that undercover agent had already received a temporary license a day earlier from a different location, using the same name. On Aug. 20 of last year, the agent supplied a fake out-of-state West Virginia license as verification of identity and managed to get the California license. On Aug. 21, using the same name but a fake Texas license, he got a California license again, even after the clerk noticed the agent had received a temporary license the day before. The agent simply said he’d lost the first license, and the DMV clerk issued a second California license “without questioning the story further.” ____________________________________ It’s like selling a million grills all at the same time…with extended warranties. -Hank Hill

I LOVE the google toolbar. I've been using it forever just for the conveniece of the search, but when they added the popup blocking, that really put it over the edge. If you have IE and don't have the google toolbar, GO GET IT RIGHT NOW! ____________________________________ It’s like selling a million grills all at the same time…with extended warranties. -Hank Hill

Actually the ones that we were shown still had numbers, they just had a custom design in the center. You can go a long ways towards a custom faceplate without throwing out the numbers. ____________________________________ It’s like selling a million grills all at the same time…with extended warranties. -Hank Hill

I actually got to hold one of these at Couch. Our 'neighbor' apparently knew the person that makes them and had a couple with him. They were both custom and very nice looking. I didn't get a chance to jump one, but my impression from handling them was that they were very sturdy. I'll be anxious to hear what people have to say once they start using them. Being able to customize your face would be really cool. ____________________________________ It’s like selling a million grills all at the same time…with extended warranties. -Hank Hill

Quick question about the Cypres (in general). If the 4 year service isn't performed until 5 years after it is manufactured, does the 8 year get done 4 years after that or 8 years after DOM? This one had service in 2001, so it won't be up for service until 2005 by the 4 year method, or next year as you mention by the 8 year method. ____________________________________ It’s like selling a million grills all at the same time…with extended warranties. -Hank Hill

I can't concentrate on anything else...

You might actually be better off that way. At least you can't stare longingly out the window and wish that you were falling through that beautiful blue sky... I just tell myself that my co-workers think I'm thinking about work. ____________________________________ It’s like selling a million grills all at the same time…with extended warranties. -Hank Hill -
You're definitely not the only one that's gone through that. There's three of us that just went through AFF this spring, and we ALL had the same feelings. None of us went quite that long between jumps, but until we had 15-20 jumps, we'd all get that feeling every time we went out. The great thing is that after the first jump of the day it goes away. The best advice I could give you is to just keep pushing yourself to get out there, and when the weather's good get a few jumps in. By the time you pass 20, you'll kick yourself for ever wishing for wind. =) ____________________________________ It’s like selling a million grills all at the same time…with extended warranties. -Hank Hill

USPS - pay us a buck or we won't forward your mail

Actually the processing usually has a fixed fee PLUS a percentage. $.35 + 3% is typical, so that would leave a whopping $.60 or so for the post office. I don't get charging for automated services that save labor costs...that's like charging for online banking or over-the-phone credit card payments. ____________________________________ It’s like selling a million grills all at the same time…with extended warranties. -Hank Hill -
I just bought a pair of Sorz original. I wear contacts and I was a little worried about the holes in the side, but I just jumped them yesterday and they were great. No complaints and they are nice and comfortable. I also wore them for a couple thousand feet in the plane and had almost no fogging to speak of. Worth the $15. They are padded around the edges which makes them nice to wear. ____________________________________ It’s like selling a million grills all at the same time…with extended warranties. -Hank Hill

This is the key! Everything is getting marked as viewed even if I haven't actually looked at it. At least, that seems to best describe the behavior. ____________________________________ It’s like selling a million grills all at the same time…with extended warranties. -Hank Hill

Does anyone else have weird things happen in the forums like going to the third page of a thread instead of the first page, or jumping halfway down the page instead of showing the first post? It's really distracting. Sometimes I click on a thread and read the first one, and then I'm like "What the hell is this person talking about?" then I realize that I'm looking at the 10th post down instead of the first one. ____________________________________ It’s like selling a million grills all at the same time…with extended warranties. -Hank Hill

Yes I did jump it. It fits me pretty well (although honestly I can only compare it to the various student gear that I've jumped). ____________________________________ It’s like selling a million grills all at the same time…with extended warranties. -Hank Hill
