  1. Amber: We had a diabetic cat, Cypres. (Long story on how she got that name.) She passed away last May at the age of 14. She had been diagnosed with the problem in 2004. We controlled her diet with the help of our vet. We also did the insulin shots at home twice a day, every day for over three years. She tolerated them very well. They were fairly easy to administer. When we had to travel, we had great support from some friends who would give the shots to her while we were gone. Unfortunately, she also developed a urinary tract problem that could not be controlled. We did the best for our friend. Good luck with your kitty. Fred www.SkydiveLostPrairie.com

  6. Hello all, our friends in Snohomish, Shelton, Star . . . Hello to all the family. It is hard to believe that a week has already passed. We had been watching closely from here at Lost Prairie. . . hoping for good news. But sadness and tragedy is once again a part of 2007. Phil was our primary pilot last season. He was a very good, safe pilot. Several on the Caravan had been here and enjoyed the Boogie this summer. The others were friends to meet in the future. It is hard to believe that it has been five months since our loss last May. Through our tears and anguish, one thing kept us uplifted. That was, and still is, the tremendous support and love from the extended skydiving family. Shortly after the loss of our five friends in the crash of 71T, we received an outpouring of hundreds of e-mails, phone calls, and cards. Some were from friends that we had not heard from in 30+ years; others from people we did not know. And, overwhelming strength from those close at hand. We are still receiving calls and e-mails. All help to ease the pain. This support helps us to keep going. It is what makes it possible to carry on. It helps to lighten the weight of each breath. The healing process is long and seemingly unending. One step at a time; one day at a time. There will be no day when you will say, "I'm glad that's over". Healing is a lifelong event. Realize that everyone on board the Caravan died in body only. Their spirits now soar. See them in the clouds; see them in the stars. What better way to end this life then in the pursuit of passion? Celebrate the fact that every one of them did just that. Find strength in the power of the human spirit to carry on. This earth is just a way-point along the route of existence. From Lost Prairie, to all of you, we pass on and share the positive energy that we received in our times of grief. Words cannot make the pain go away. Hold close to your hearts the love that you are feeling from those around you. You cannot change the past but you can make the future a better place to be. Rely on each other. You will find comfort and solace there. HUG YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY TODAY. TELL THEM THAT YOU LOVE THEM. THEY COULD BE GONE IN AN INSTANT.
  7. As a jump plane, it was based out of Ogden, UT. I jumped it at the Chico Hot Springs (Montana) boogie in June, 1991.
  8. Yes, there will be a shuttle. Yes, there will be dust. We are in the middle of a record breaking heatwave and drought. So, NO CAMPFIRES. The fire danger is very high and the State of Montana, as well as other agencies, might soon impose some severe restrictions. Yes, there will be beer. Yes, you will still have fun but there a several logistical problems for all of us to work through together to make it as easy as possible for everyone. www.SkydiveLostPrairie.com
  9. Hello all: Please bring any and all photos and/or videos (and stories) that you have of Mac McIsaac, Joel, and David. Also, any memories of Monty Huntington (formerly from Minnesota) would be great. He passed away in a work related accident in May. If you can't make it to the Boogie, send the photos and we will display them. Fred www.SkydiveLostPrairie.com

  16. Anyone know Don's whereabouts? He was a jumpmaster in the Salt Lake / southern Idaho areas in the late '60's. USPA had him in their database until 2001 and in the Northwest. He was Lyle McIsaac's JM on his first jump in 1967. Any clues? www.SkydiveLostPrairie.com
  17. Yes, Tod and I have spoken. He is heading up the project. He and his team promises that it will be the best ever, a fantastic " BIG 4 0 " Boogie video. Fred PS: Excellent gathering and party for Mac and his family last Saturday night. Check in to the Blue Skies . . . forum for more details. >>I talked with Tod Hendricks today and he said he was doing the video - how official that is I don't know, but that is what I heard. Ask Fred who's doing it. I'm sure he'll chime in here soon enough anyway.
  18. Update for charity donation:: Mac’s family suggests the American Cancer Society if anyone would like to make a contribution to their work. If you would like to send an e-mail to the family, the e-address is: LCmcisaac@centurytel.net Please feel free to post your thoughts in this forum. I will print them out and be sure that CJ and all receive your comments. If your are flying into Kalispell commercially and need transport or if you need a place to stay, give me a call. I will arrange it for you. Thanks very much. Fred 406-858-2493
  19. Memorial for Mac For all those who can attend, there will be a gathering at Lost Prairie Lounge this upcoming Saturday, April 28th. Come any time that you want and get ready to tell (and listen to) any and all of the great McIsaac stories. A pot luck dinner has been suggested and will begin around 6 PM. Don't worry if you can't bring something for the meal as I'm sure that there will be plenty of food for everyone. Your presence is what is important. But, if you cannot be here, we know that you, through your fond thoughts and prayers, will be here in spirit. CJ and her family want to express their great thankfulness for all the support and beautiful considerations that everyone has shown in this difficult time. If anyone wants to make a donation to one of the family's charities, (those charities will be named soon) in Mac's name, that is their wish in place of other gifts. This is just one of the many gatherings through the year that will find friends of Mac getting together and lifting a glass to his honor and his memory. Please pass on this message to anyone who might not be able to see it.
  20. As soon as info is available regarding memorial services, I will let everyone know. BLUE SKIES MAC QuoteFound out today that Mac passed away in LP.
  21. Every once and a while a classic photo appears on the cover of PARACHUTIST. I think that this one of the Beeches is one of them. M. Jenkins drown while walking back from an out landing at Elsinore. Stepped into a deep water hole that he apparently didn't see. www.SkydiveLostPrairie.com
  22. Bozo: I guess that we could start with LP Jail. Broken kneecaps have been suggested. Maybe, offenders could suffer the following: "No Lang for you!" or "No boobies for you!" or "No red nighty party for you!" You do bring up a good question though. So what would be appropriate "penalties" for not playing nice? [Drop into suggestion box here] Freddie (not since I was six) www.SkydiveLostPrairie.com
  23. Because of the recent unfortunate events around the country, at the Boogie, there will be enforcement of penalties for unacceptable canopy handling. I have had many people volunteer to help with this matter. I have received numerous suggestions on how to handle this situation. I advise everyone to get your mindset in focus that you will not be able to do whatever YOU want at the Boogie. During your visit to Lost Prairie, you must behave and respect everyone in the air with you. If you want to play, you have to play nice. Fred PS: It has been a couple of weeks since the last tragedies. Most skydiver's attention span / memory is not that long. Please be careful during your Easter weekend no matter where are. Don't be part of the news on Monday. www.SkydiveLostPrairie.com
