Do you believe BET should be off the air? While MTV(WET), VH1(WET), TNN, TBS, ABC, NBC, CBS, (WET, WET, WET, WET, WET,) remains? I think we all know that you can hardly call MTV "White Entertainment Television". If you had to classify it I would put it in the same group as BET The biggest issue with BET is that it is actually called BLACK entertainment television and publicly states that it is geared towards the black community. The majority of the shows on the WB have all black actors, however they dont advertise that it is geared towards the black community. Please read this article. It is written by a black actor. Very interesting, he too believes that the black man is his own worst enemy! http://216.247.220.66/archives/racerelations/standifer6-29-99.htm

I have been getting my ass kicked by line twists on almost every jump. It was recommended that I try a different packing technique. When I put the bag into the container I no longer twist it 90 degrees. I leave the pc bridal facing straight up. I also make sure that all my excess lines are at the back of the container and not tucked into the closing loop / reserve side of the container. I was told that a major cause of line twists is when the lines snag the reserve container and twist up as the bag is coming off your back. Couple that with the bag having to rotate as it comes off your back and its a recipe for trouble. Sure enough, leaving the bridal facing up and the lines in the back of the container gave me one of the sweetest openings i have ever had. That packjob was for my last jump of the day. I didnt get to try it out a second time. Was the nice opening a fluke? Or does packing like that really make a huge difference like it seemed to? I'm a newbie so if this is common sense forgive me Sure as hell seems to work though.

We also know that blacks owned slaves. No. Whats done is done. Get over it. Reliving the past isnt going to help create a better future.

Ok , You caught me , My great great grandmother wasn't the cousin of the King of Sheba, that was rediculous, she was his sister. So which of my comments "got you thinking"? Blues, Cliff Is the king of sheba you are refering to in your family history Menelik II? If yes, Do you think "your" family should be paying people for all the money his / your family made in the slave trade in the 18 and 1900s???? Well????

If signed documentation existed proving who owed who what then yes i would agree. Otherwise there are just to many unknowns to hold anybody liable.

How has society treated a black man whose ancestors were slaves poorly? What does there ancestors have to do with anything? Once again, why should somebody receive monies from something that happened generations ago? Why do they personally deserve it? There is discrimination against all races in the world, but for some reason black people seem to think they have it worst off then anybody else. Darker blackies? Can you please explain exactly what a darker blackie is. Isnt it the american peoples laws and government? I didnt think different races had different laws in this country. Once again, please explain this "white mans system" Which system does the black man adhere to? Good excuse for criminal behavior. Nice try. It obviously isnt a deterent. Just look at the numbers. It is actually very sad if you think about it. Great, there is your retribution. The white man serving the black man. Happy now? Honestly bud, some of your arguments actually got me thinking. This post totally swayed me from thinking that you are sincere in your thoughts. Some of the statements in this particular post are just ridiculous

Sorry this happened. However, your wife was not denied anything. She still had the full right to apply if she chose to do so. She opted not too based on the counselors recommendations. Now if this counselor said you cannot apply because you are black then that would be a different story. We have already determined that racism exists today, all races are effected. However, your wife was not DENIED anything based on skin color. She may have been given bad advice, but she still had the right to do whatever she wanted.

There is blatant promotion of the black community going on in todays day and age. Is it fine to be proud of ones race and to promote that race? Sure, as long as the same holds true for all races. JET Magazine: Do you think JET magazine would allow a white female model in the magazine? Hell no. If Cosmopolitan turned down a black model solely based on skin color would they be labeled a racist organization and slapped with a lawsuit? Hell yes. Care to explain this one? BET: Would our community ever accept something named White Entertainment Television station? Hell no. Can a person apply for a loan and ask for special consideration because they have "white" skin? Nope, dont think so. The first two are prime examples as to how the black community is segregating themselves from the rest of the world. The black man needs to realize that the promotion of "black only" oriented type organizations does not help the cause. Please provide one example of a socially acceptable "white only" organization.

Actually he only got 150K

Really ......if this were true this thread would never exist. Please give me one REAL example of how the black man does not have the same opportunity as a white man. Please use real world scenarios and factual information as to where a persons opportunity is limited solely based on skin color.

Congrats...A month is pretty damn fast. Enjoy it!!

I don't think anyone is requesting a handout what we are demanding is equal opportunity. You dont consider a mandate to interview at least one black candidate for certain NFL positions a hand out? What about the comments in this thread about retribution being owed from the slavery days? Would that not be a hand out if it were to take place? You dont consider a black man getting a job in place of a white man simply because of his skin color in order to appease certain govt regulations regarding hiring "minorities" a hand out? The black man has the same chances at equal opportunity as the white man. Problem is the black man is forcing society to provide special treatment, not equal treatment.
-
Are you implying the racism that exist today isn't worth fighting against? All racism is worth fighting against. Problem is the black man feels he has it worst off then any other race and that he deserves hand outs because of it. There is too much self pity taking place.
-
I don't know thats why I asked the question. Discrimination against whites is documented on a daily basis, yet nobody views it as such (AA, EEOP, etc..). At least the black man has the ability to declare discrimination and have it possibly taken somewhat serious. If a white man cries discrimination it is brushed under the carpet.
-
General question for you. When whites are discriminated against what should we do?
-
Yes, Yes they do. Please explain to me why they would not???? When did we establish blacks are more likely to be pulled over???? Is it possible that just perhaps the greater population of criminals and those that commit crimes happen to have black skin? According to your statement you are saying that the reason there are more blacks in prison is due to the "driving while black" factor??? Read your statement, that is ridiculous. There are many socioeconomic reasons as to why a certain percentage of a race is incarcerated. I promise you "driving while black" is not one of those reasons. No, I am not.
-
Or could this perhaps be a prime example of black people assuming their skin color is the reason for their hardships? Or perhaps could the statistics below show why this MAYBE SOMETIMES happens? Yes. I guess based on your reasoning all whites cannot dance and walk around with pocket protectors? How about considering this. I live in DC. There is a very high crime rate and that crime rate is attributed primarily to black people. That is a fact. Check out the prison population statistics nationwide. Based on current rates of first incarceration, an estimated 28% of black males will enter State or Federal prison during their lifetime, compared to 16% of Hispanic males and 4.4% of white males. http://www.radford.edu/~junnever/bw.htm Based on statistics I understand if and when racial profiling takes place why it does so.
-
Bingo, now you are starting to understand. What if there are no black candidates? According to the mandate they better go out and fucking find one or face a fine. This has been my point all along, what if there is nobody qualified that happens to be black? Is that such a major problem or ordeal? Or could it perhaps be a fact of the lay of the land within the coaching candidate environment? Hummm, once again, lets use the running back example. Is it the black mans fault that the majority (if not all) of the superstar athletes in this position happen to have black skin? If jackson ever sets his sights on nascar the shit could get really ugly.
-
Racial profiling exists for a reason. Think about what i am saying. In todays day and age we are forced to rely on racial profiling to PREVENT crimes. In some circumstances it is wrong. If a racist white police officer pulls over a black man simply because he is black than that is wrong. If TSA pays a little more attention to a middle eastern person at a airport security check in I believe it is 100% warranted. If I drive through a predominantly black neighborhood where a white guy has recently commited a crime and i get pulled over because i am white then i can completely understand and only hope the situation is dealt with properly. What I have a problem with is people who cry racial profiling in every instance. Sure the shit happens, to all races. However, it is all too commonly used as an excuse with no merit to back it up whatsoever. You would be surprised how many "white folk" understand it. Ever hear of the boy who cried wolf? If the skin color excuse is used to many times in to many different situations you cant help but to start calling bullshit. That is what is happening nowadays. Skin color is being used as in excuse in all aspects of our lives. Maybe (big maybe) some of it is warranted, problem is the majority of it isnt.

The fine is a direct result of the policy. If the policy didnt exist the fine never would have happened. Do you think the black coaches that were contacted for interviews really felt good about themselves under the circumstances? They didnt even bother to accept the invitations to interview. Sort of being a 3rd wheel, you cant help but to feel a little bit useless. Without the policy that never would have happened. Yes, you did state your feelings. I was simply saying i would be embarassed and ashamed of such a leader. I did not mean to imply you support jackson.
