Mike, if your current camera is still doing its job, stick with it. The one that you have right now from a functionality standpoint is almost an SLR, the only thing missing is the interchangeable lenses. Learn how to use it more first, all the principles of photography with an SLR can be used on your camera from what I can tell. Of course... the Rebel XT is a nicer, faster, higher resolution camera.. so if that's what you want. go for it..

Ok, how does the GS1 compare to the S3 (I don't know if you've flown the firebird yet..) From what people have told me, I'd be off best with the S3 / S3S for my body type and weight.. People are voting for the Firebird though.. choices choices...

Generally you go about finding someone on your own, but it wouldn't hurt to ask manifest as to who they recommend (I usually try to ask a local / manifest for their recommendations) Expect to pay 5 or 6 bucks per packjob..

Ok, I'm not a numbers guy, I don't care that other people can go 20mph vertical (although that is insanely cool!!) I'm all about flying with others, and filming / taking pictures of others flying together... I wont be jumping it all the time, there's too much fun in all the disciplines of skydiving to just focus on one.. Iwan

I can't wait any longer, I've been doing a bunch of birdman jumps on suits that I borrowed from people, and now I need my own. I'm torn between two suits.. the new firebird (from what I've read is a GTI on steroids) or the S3 (which I've been flying for the last 30 or so jumps) Any advice from more experienced flyers would be very welcome Iwan

If I were you, I'd go with what is known to work VERY well, which is the Canon 20mm with the Canon EOS 350D. The Canon 20mm is only 10 bucks more than the Sigma 20 (at least on the B&H website)

The Canon 15mm is a very nice lens, but personally, I'd save the money and get the Sigma 15mm, just for financial reasons. From what I've read about the Canon 15 and from personal experience with the Sigma 15, they are as good as equal in image quality and speed.

I got the Pelican 1600 case, it's a big one, but it fits (almost) all of my equipment. If I'd buy another one, I'd go for the 1510 (I think) the one that is the biggest allowed size for carry on on an airplane. Iwan

Guess I won't be competing for slots on the Skyvan! You wouldnt be even if there were 500 people there.. they'd just fire up three or four skyvans Count me in.. I'll be there again this year too.. I think the numbers are close to 500 people though.. not sure.. B2 would be able to tell you. -
