Reading through all the specs though, it looks like it is getting close to the Elan 7e right? I know a lot of people jump the rebel 2000 as their still camera, that camera has 1.5fps! It would still be a major upgrade for those people (me included) Iwan

http://www.canoneos.com/digitalrebel/index.html The EOS 300 in Europe is the equivalent of the Rebel 2000 here in the US, it looks like there is a digital version of that coming as well, according to Canon's US website Blue skies! Iwan

I don't think the S400 Digital Elph is the right piece of equipment, besides the fact that there is no remote shutter functionality on it. The camera is great for vacation pictures and party pictures e.a. but it is way too slow for skydiving photography. I don't think you even get 1fps? Iwan

yeah, yeah blame the skydivers for it. Next thing you know you'll be claiming the skydivers kept moving out of the ring sight Did I hit your camera? You were on my left leg hanging there when it funneled... When can we see the pics on your shutterfly site? Iwan

I don't know about a second strap, what if you end up in a nasty situation were you have to get rid of your helmet? A second strap does not only mean more security when it is supposed to stay on your head, but it also means more time when it is supposed to come off your head ;) It's your own call of course, but I think the chincup should do the trick, in combination with a quick release. Just my 2 cents... Iwan

Hi, I had the same problem. What I found is that I was flying the camera, instead of my body. What I did is a couple of jumps without the camera, exit the plane as if you are filming and then asap line up with something underneath you, like a road. Try out your wings e.a. and see how you move. I've done a couple of those, and it did the trick for me! The first couple of jumps I was orbiting so fast the video almost made people dizzy! Now it starts to look like something Anyways, that did the trick for me so I would say give it a shot! Iwan

It looks like your profile is way out of date, at least I hope so and you didn't stick a camera on your head at 12 jumps. Anyways, check out these articles by Quade, they taught me a lot about how to setup my helmet. http://www.futurecam.com/skydive.html I am jumping a Bonehead FlatTop Pro by the way. About the chincup, mine is a full face, so it's different, but if yours is not, I would highly recommend a chincup. Safe skydives! Iwan

So is the best way to set it up to make sure that everything is setup perfect within the range that your subject is going to be in freefall? I need to complete my setup tonight (add the still camera to the helmet) so it is ready for Davis this weekend!

Thanks a lot for the advice. I am getting the quick release plate for the still camera in next week and I'll get a laser pointer for this purpose. I have a Rebel 2000 as the still camera. I know some people in Davis are jumping Flat Tops and I am going there for the American Boogie, I'll try to get some help from one of the guys up there as well I hope. Thanks again for the advice. Hi, I have a Bonehead Flat Top helmet, and have been jumping that for a couple of weeks now. I want to get the still camera on it as well, but I am wondering how do you make sure it lines up with your videocamera? As you can't look through the viewfinder when it is sitting on the front L bracket. Any advice? Thanks, Iwan

Hi there, I bought this helmet, and I am jumping it right now. I have a TRV17 in there. I know people have looked at it a bit strange, but he, it works, and it works very well! The helmet does look big, but I compared it to a brand new flat top with a similar size camera on top, and the helmet is only about 1 inch higher than the normal, brand new FTP. I am getting the new quick release system for it though, since it does not come off quick enough. Iwan
