  1. Yesterday Mile Hi Skydiving flew the Otter to Tylertown Mississippi and picked up 22 dogs, 15 cats and 3 gerbils from the humane society of Mississippi. These are all animals that have been displaced by hurricane Katrina. The plane is scheduled to land at the Loveland / Fort Collins airport today between 4 and 5 pm. The animals will be greeted by the staff of the Wright Pet Clinic in Fort Collins Colorado and after getting the care they need will be placed up for adoption. This is a very cool thing and the the people that made this happen deserve to hear about it!
  2. I had a great view, and it was a vert, but only by a foot or two.......
  3. cool, new clubs.... Thanks steve. And for the rest of you hackers, i had a 8 handicap for about 3 years, then i started this skydiving shit and lost intrest in golfing..... funny how that happens. JT
  4. if ryan t passes, ill take the clubs...... Dibbs.... Jason T
  5. As far as the winds go, i can tell you that the winds were certified by the FAI judge that was present in case there was a world record. The winds were well below the maximum. I beleive that the wind regulations are 5 meters per second, and that translates to roughly 16 mph. Anyone with a little more info can jump in here and help me out with this one. As far as the possible water touch, the video was reviewed many, many times. Jay's foot never touched the water. What you are seeing is the "vortex" coming off of his foot, and pushing the water. His foot was 6 inches or so above the water, but at 90+ mhp, that is a lot of wind being directed forward and down from his body/foot. This is not the first time we have seen this, in fact it has become pretty common. One note, right after Mark Shimmel broke the record, the next competitor to come through the gates was Scott Roberts. He broke Marks record by going 610. Then Jay went 619. So, the record was broken three times in a row! Jay's second jump was 678.
  6. Jay Mo - 619 and 678 Scott Roberts - not sure of the exact number, but over 600 Mark S - 597 Brian M- 520 Many CPC competitors well over 400 I think we are done with this topic.
  7. NEW EVENT! Saturday afternoon for the first time there will be a Pro-am comp. We will pair a Pro pilot with an amateur pilot for three rounds. Two team speed rounds and one team distance round. Distance will be the sum of both pilots distance runs. Turns must be coordinated at the same time and same degree of turn. Prize money for the winners. This is sure to be a very cool event plus free coaching for the amateurs!
  8. We reviewed the video just after the run and from the time he hit the gates until touch down was over 10 seconds. Amazing.
  9. I do not know exactly how much weight he was wearing, but i do know he was on his 103, and he said he "did not do anything different". It was amazing to see, and the power generated at the entry gate was just awsome. He hit the gates at over 90 mph! After what i saw today, i think it will only be a matter of time before we see distances of well over 700 feet!
  10. It has been a long day, but we are done. Awards just handed out, Brian Mckenney (sp) won. Full standing and awards will be released tomorrow.
  11. Distance, accuracy and speed rounds will all be tomorrow in that order. Wheels up at 8:30 am. We had some great practice runs this afternoon, and with a little help from the weather we should see some incredible results. We will post results tomorrow...... Jason T
  12. All updates to this comp will be posted here. Right now we have 30 CPC competitors registered. The Competitor briefing is scheduled for 3:00 pm today at the pond. We only got in two practice rounds today due to high winds. Hopefully things will calm down before we go. Distance starts today at 4:00 if weather allows. The Pro's are starting to show up, everyone just wants to get going! Jason T
  13. That is part of the excitment about this comp. How will the best do at 5000 ft? There are many theories, but for now all i can say is that many of the competitors here are expecting Jay or Jonathan to break 600ft! Some are talking about the possibility of 650 ft. Time will tell............
  14. Just a quick update, the dirt water dirt comp will be over pretty quickly. In practice yesterday, TJ did a superman across the entire pond. He missed dirt on the entry side by about 3 feet, and blew through the exit side. We did an "official measurement" of the pond yesterday, it is 371.5 feet. The talk around the dz yesterday was that the pond will be 500 ft next year. We have had one practice distance run of 535 feet from a CPC competitor. Competition starts today. Jason T
  15. Priceless..... The Pilot was Joe Bennett. Yesterday was a great day with many more to come. What a fantastic event!
  16. Ian, You can cancel your room and stay in my spare bedroom if you want. I will be going up early every day, we can split gas. It will save you room money. I live in Denver, about 45 min away from the dz. Jason T
  17. There will be a CPC party wed night in boulder (20 min from the dz). Please include this in your plans for the week. Awards will be passed out for all CPC competitors at that time. There will be another party Sat night for all Pro competitors and awards will be passed out for the pros at that time. Thanks to Jason Russell for offering up the bar for the event, and thanks to Go Fast! for all of their help with this event. Jason Tolliver

  20. Cool, i will see what i can do. The only problem i see is that is the weekend before the CPC nationals, some guys might want to train. However, some may just want to get away and have fun before it gets serious. JT
  21. well i am not a hot chick, and i don't think anyone will come to the boggie to see me running around naked, but i have another question for you. Can we land on the beach? If we can swoop and land on the beach i will bring a group of the colorado swoopers down. I have not been to elephant butte in a very long time, it would be fun to come back.
  22. I will PM you with all of the details... Jason
