I've done one. It was supposed to be a 6 way naked jump, but the other 5 suprisingly had something on when we jumped. I thought the jump was fun. I was not allowed to wear my camera for the jump (demand by others on the jump) but several people were on the ground capturing landings and the audio from that is the funniest part of the entire jump. I don't know if that jump made me famous or infamous in Titusville? Mark Klingelhoefer

Andrea, You ready for a bigway Head down yet? Mark

Does anyone have any of the results. They stopped posting them after day 1. Mark Klingelhoefer

If you end up back tracking, your legs are too far back or your torso is too far forward, or both. Your upper arms (biceps) should be relaxed and only a few inches away from your ribs (6-8 inches) with your forearms at about a 45 degree angle outward from your upper arm (135 degrees from your torso 90+45). While in this position, if you point your palms towards your feet, you will go limp wristed and take your hand out of the equation to help reduce unnecessary drag. This is only my (completely non-expert) opinion. Mark Klingelhoefer Mark Klingelhoefer

I had both and recently sold my Pro-Track. The beeps seem to be not as loud and I could not change any of the warnings on the ride to altitude. With the Dyter, you can set them the whole way up, and knowing "exactly" how fast you were falling is pretty neat for about the first 10-20 jumps with the thing, then I found I never looked at that stuff. The question is, do you want an audible, or do you want a logbook? Mark Klingelhoefer

Thanks again to Skydive Atlanta from the people from Skydive Space Center for the great time. We got in a Balloon jump and a Biplane jump during our last visit there. Thanks again. Mark Klingelhoefer

Our trip (the Titusville crew) also stopped by ASC and had a great time and were treated VERY well (with the exception of one of the packers who is teritorial about where he sleeps). A couple people I was with did coach jumps with SteveO and I believe TJ, and they said they gained a lot from the jumps, and they were reasonably priced. Thanks to the ASC for showing us a great time and letting us crash at you DZ for a couple nights. Hope to see you in Titusville one of these days. Mark Klingelhoefer

Just got back from a trip that included Skydive Atlanta, and it is true. Free coach jumps were offered to me and all the people I was "Road Trippin'" with. Thanks for the hospitality guys. Mark Klingelhoefer

He owns Skydive Space Center in Titusville (Spaceland is in Texas I think). The King Air did 6 min 30 seconds to 15,000 here in Titusville. It is suposedly faster than Mullins'. I just hope we actually see it occationally in Titusville. I think it might be "on tour" for a long while. Mark Klingelhoefer

"A few years ago I would have said . . . 'IT Trainer'" Ha, I have to laugh at this because I have this title for 2 more days after which, I'm being RIF'ed but now my answers. 1. Skydiver - It has ruled my life since my first jump 2. Teacher - In a classroom setting or helping out with a FJC, or taking someone with 20 some jumps on their first sit jump. 3. Entertainer - Anyone who knows me knows I'm always looking for the funny side of a story. 4. Generous - with my time, my jumps (can you video this and tell me what I'm dong wrong), with my knowledge... 5. Kid-at-heart - My motto is "I'll grow old but will not grow up." The list I put together is in a message titled "Compiled Favorite Skydiving Songs" in "Skydiving Talk Back", and someone is hosting the list, but I could not find the address here, so it might be someone from over on wRECk. Mark Klingelhoefer Mark Klingelhoefer

I've done 3 "check out" jumps. On my first one, I was told my the evaluator to keep my knees in my chest until the drogue was out because this would force the "intructor" to "get very big" which he had a problem doing. I'm not sure if I was supposed to, but I let him know EXACTLY what I was going to be doing so he expected it. The others were for a good friend of mine and we just went out and had some fun. It is VERY wierd not having a rig on, getting "hooked up", and getting to the door, but all in all, they were pretty fun. Plus they should be free for you (the person getting the rating should cover the slot) and you don't have to pack after the jump. Mark Mark Klingelhoefer

I did something like a 720 turn at 150 ft to land close to dead center for my 14,800 points. I don't think I'll try that this weekend for real. Mark Mark Klingelhoefer

drop zones adding trips to tunnel for FJC
klingeme replied to SilentJ's topic in Safety and Training
I live in Florida and jump at Skydive Space Center in Titusville and 2 years ago, when I was going through IAF (3 tandems before first jump course) I had problems on my first couple AFF style jumps. I'm very light and was extremely floaty. I spent 7 minutes in the tunnel and it helped me with my arch, stability in turns, and I also learned a little forward motion and backward motion (intentional Backsliding) in that short amount of time and I feel it was very necessary and helped me get through the program without repeating any jumps. SSC now offers an AFF package that includes a little tunnel time as an option when purchasing the packaged program. I think it has a place in the training program and can help build confidence in the air. Mark Klingelhoefer Mark Klingelhoefer -
I just recently purchased a used Stilletto 120 and it is one of the "originals" that only came in one color design and does not have the label on the canopy, and I was told by my rigger that I got one of the "good ones." He told me that PD changed the Stilletto shortly after introduction to "Slow it down" in some way, but mine was made before this change. I've only owned PD canopies and love my current one, but based on what I've been told, they do make changes after release. Mark Klingelhoefer Mark Klingelhoefer

Put it in the ear hole with the lights facing out and secure it by tying it to the "Vents" in the ear holes. Mark Klingelhoefer Mark Klingelhoefer

>"Oh...I almost forgot a good one. Second jump on a throw out. "OK...3000Ft. Reach back...grab hackey and pull out. Look at that nice P/C flailing in the wind......LET GO OF IT STUPID!!!!" " I did the same thing but did not realize it until I had pulled the silver handle. 500 jumps later, I'm still hearing about it. Mark Mark Klingelhoefer
