I'm heading to Anchorage right now. I think I'm going to be a little colder. Brrrrr
-
Is he actually jumping solo now or just on Tandems?

You can't carry it with you in the cabin. The baggage hold is pressurized but the luggage monkeys will throw it around. You can probably pack a few bottles safely inside your bag but a case would be a disaster.

I had something similar to what you described a few years ago with my 1991 Lenox Pulse. This may or may not apply to your situation. I hope I can describe it clearly. Mine has a 2 inch PVC exhaust pipe that comes out of the lower left side a few inches then hits a "T" fitting. The pipe going up from the "T" goes through some sort of expansion chamber then up through the roof. Going down from the "t" was about a 1 foot piece of PVC that terminated above the floor with a PVC cap. My repair guy apparently knew exactly what was going on. He cut the cap off and rusty water came out. He explained that there is condensation in this pipe and there is a smaller internal pipe to take the water away to a drain. Over time, as the unit gets older some rust will develop and plug the small internal drain pipe. This somehow affects pressures in the system and I believe some pressure switches that someone else mentioned earlier. He replaced the old solid cap with a cap that has a threaded plug. I just drain it once a year (yes there is always rust) and all has been well. Hope this helps!

Apparently the Twin Otter I used to fly jumpers with is in the Sandbox with a .50 cal machine gun mounted in the door.

Quote Where the hell are sniper teams when you need them? Who needs a sniper team. I'd much rather get up close and personal with these worthless pieces of shit.
-
No it's not an AN-2. The AN-2 has a single engine. This is definitely a twin engine model.

I thought it was going to be about dentures.

We don't care about the tourist stuff. How was she in bed?
-
No, not really. Do you think it's pretty stupid for people to jump out of an airplane at any time of the year? At 120 mph the ground is just as hard in the summer as it is in the winter. Climbing is what these three guys were into. They made their decision, they followed their dreams. In that respect they are no different than you or I.

Bill Brandon in Skydiving Magazine
SkydiveJack replied to skypuppy's topic in Skydiving History & Trivia
My memory must not be that good because I don't remember that dive. However many of us might have gaps in our memories from those days! I too was happy to see Bill get recognized for all his jumps. We shared a house for a while in Z-hills. He has always been a stand up kind of guy. No big ego, just a calm quite manner and the ability to do any slot he was assigned. He's one of the unsung "real skydivers" out there. Like the energizer bunny, he just keeps going and going and going and.... -
What in the hell is this??? Need help identifying this
SkydiveJack replied to BillyVance's topic in The Bonfire
That would be my guess. But my antenna control cable only has three wires. I would test it with a volt meter to make 100% sure that there is no power to it. Then cut off the plug and push the cable out of the way. Another option is to get underneath the floor and see where it goes. -
Get Well Soon Scotty! I love you Brother! Jack

Well, just as long as you agree that we need time away from Men sometimes and its ok to look at other boobies from time to time.... How about we go look at Boobies together? This could be a match made in Heaven!

D B Cooper Unsolved Skyjacking
SkydiveJack replied to skyjack71's topic in Skydiving History & Trivia
If this is true then it means Bush Senior actually has SIX jumps! Maybe USPA should give him an "E" license if he makes a small donation, say maybe $200,000. -
I really doubt it. It is his personal toy and it has a nice interior. Definitely not skydiver proof!

Looks like fake fur to me. A very cheap Santa Suit!

Looking for Z-Hills Cessna 196 Pictures (70's)
SkydiveJack replied to RogerRamjet's topic in Skydiving History & Trivia
Holy Crap! I could be wrong but that looks like 40T when it landed with the Canadian jumper hanging from the door. His jumpsuit material got caught in the corner of the rear cargo door on exit and he descended from altitude and landed with the plane hanging out like that. He was dragged along the runway but his rig took all the contact and he didn't have a scratch. We didn't have a radio to tell the crew about it when he was spotted and Hooper drove the fuel truck on to the runway to try and stop them from landing. They landed anyway but Jim stopped them from taxiing around with the guy. This photo looks like the moment just after they shut down on the runway and before we got to the plane. Watching that guy land hanging from the plane is something I will never forget! Jack -
Humble Pie and Grand Funk Railroad, at Hyde Park, London. It was 1970 and I was 14. It was a good start!

Sounds like the media is starting to call a spade a spade. However it seems that GWB and his cronies are in their usual state of denial.
