Any dumbass can learn to use any piece of software - you'll never know unless you try. I haven't tried that specific package, but in the last couple months I picked up Photoshop and Pinnacle with no prior experience, with only a couple or hours worth of dicking around in each. There are tutorials all over the internet for any software you can think of probably - makes it much easier. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Exactly - hence the swingset example. As discussed earlier in the thread, it is valid if you are adding weight to the rears too (though given the short distance between the rears and the 3-ring, and small amount of force on the rears, the effect is still probably very negligible). www.WingsuitPhotos.com

You are talking about a dynamic situation where, to balance, the CG is continually shifting back and forth across the centerline. It would be impossible to stand, statically, on a tightrope with your CG off-center. Every seen a swingset? You can cause the swing to move by shifting your weight forward and back, but it's dynamic. You can't cause the swing to statically shift forward or backward by moving your body from a standstill. It is possible to move your CG while under canopy if you treat it like a swingset, but it's not efficient canopy flight (or even intelligent) and is not what was being inaccurately suggested here (that you can shift it one way or the other based on where you put your torso). www.WingsuitPhotos.com

I'm not taking either side in the shoplifting discussion, but I do find the "spending our money" thing pretty funny, and wrong. Nobody spends your money but you (and the government of course, you know that 33% of your paycheck they steal from you ). But a store you go to, under your own free will, does not spend your money. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Help getting Spectre 230 to "shut down"

Hmm, how do I make my rate of descent horizontal? (Yes, it's an old post!) www.WingsuitPhotos.com -
Believe it or not you can literally just RENAME the file, changing the extension. It makes no sense, but it actually works. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

On the flipside, the higher inertia will offer more resistance against being "set into motion." Agreed. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

I would think surface area (ability to create drag) has MUCH more of an effect on the likelihood of a handle to come out when you don't want it to. In fact, I'm not sure I can see how mass has anything to do with it... (?) Anybody else comment on this? www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Well, you know what you want and that's the first step. I must say I love reading about people who want to get into skydiving for the sole purpose of flying a wingsuit - although I have never met a wingsuit flyer who actually started in this way, but I'm sure they exist. I didn't really know about wingsuits early on enough, but I'm sure they would have attracted me if I had. Next thing to focus on is becoming a safe, licensed skydiver and getting your own gear (parachute). Preparing for wingsuits is a long way off, but the next step would be doing a lot of tracking jumps, and "wingsuit-style-procedures" - ask what these are once you are at this point in your progression. There are people that break the jump # recommendations just like there are in every other part of skydiving. That's up to you, the dropzones you jump at, and the person you ask to teach you to fly. The recommendations are there for a reason, though. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Did you fix one of his typos and replace it with another? This place cracks me up!! www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Eye think you made a Freudian slip! Obviously a unique situation. But it still supports my point - for him I would definitely not recommend closing one eye. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Where's your sense of humor? www.WingsuitPhotos.com

The corollary to this being that sometimes you don't have both eyes open? I don't know what the official recommendation is here (I'm a new camera flyer myself), but I really wouldn't recommend anybody skydive with one eye closed. I don't see what the purpose would be either. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

P.S. Here are some cool frame grabs from video I shot over the weekend - sorry, no still photos! Scary Perry is the guy in yellow V1. Scott Campos in white S3S. Mike Swearingen in purple V1. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

The picture was taken by Perry Trowbridge, the day before I showed up for the flocks unfortunately. He and Norman Kent both got many other good pictures of larger flocks later on in the weekend, but this is the only one I've seen in a non-skydiving publication so far. Perry did submit the picture and get proper credit in several places. YAHOO NEWS Keynoter This one also has some non-WS pics from Harry P. I'll bet they are in other publications too. Yes, Paul flies an S3. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

What's going on with Perry and the cops here? It looks like they're returning a raft, but they're writing something down and then he's writing something down in the later pics... www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Get your DZ pilot to fly you over a major airport... wait for your desired flight to take off, get out of your jumpship, and fly your wingsuit up to the airliner. Hitch a ride! Bring a jacket and maybe some oxygen... it will be cold, and dizzy without those. To answer your original question, I know from experience (as do you) that Zhills is a great time. I will be in Eloy this year though, and I think it will be great too. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
