Hmm. Thanks for posting that, but they (Skytools) didn't really address the one thing I'd like hear from them. If the LANC did disappear, would there be a viable (equally convenient to the camera flyer) alternative? www.WingsuitPhotos.com

You do not need a new rig, just a square stable canopy that you can fit in your current rig. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

I'm currently editing together a short video of all the wingsuit jumps we made down there. I'll post it in the wingsuit forum within a few days... www.WingsuitPhotos.com

I've had more than I can count, from exits, bumps, burbles, acrobatics, rodeos, and even one from maxing out so hard that I stalled the suit. The first few scared me but I learned to relax and ball up for as long as it takes. It often seems like it takes a long time for the spin to stop (especially if you are scared), but I usually wear video and when I watch it afterwards, it is clear it stops within just a couple seconds after balling up. I've never cut the wings away and wouldn't even think about it. I don't think I experienced much force because I ball up as soon as I know I can't control it. It's possible that if I didn't ball up the forces would get worse... I don't plan on ever waiting to find out.

I'll have video posted soon. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Sounds like a plan, count me in!

Great job Omar... a little too much "extreme" but the footage is undeniably sick. I really like the last shot of you barrel-rolling under the cameraman. And the shot of Jeff running out the door of the Otter straight into a backfly. Good editing with the music too. Keep it coming! Cya tomorrow... www.WingsuitPhotos.com

I would like this info too. A soundtrack this good is not common, which was just one more thing that made the video so beautiful. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

When I got my S3 I could go 135 seconds in my GTi. It took me many jumps on my S3 before I could break 120 seconds, because of my endurance. I still can't break 160 seconds for the same reason; my fallrate is sub-40 for the first minute sometimes, and at or above 50 by the end. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Jesus makes a 245ft cliff jump without parachute possible
The111 replied to yuri_base's topic in BASE Jumping
I won't comment on lame or not, but I think a more pertinent point is, why even wear skis if you're barely moving forward at the exit point, and are crashing into powder below? Why not just invent snow-cliffdiving? www.WingsuitPhotos.com -

I think it was the "body armor" that saved him. "You know, padded pants..." www.WingsuitPhotos.com -
It is a sidenote; you can determine if that makes it "invalid". I answered that, in the first sentence of my post. The rest of my post was the sidenote about my feelings on RSL's in general. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

The HC90 has a single CCD. Optically it is a lot like the 330/350 from the PC series, which is no longer made. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Nope, it's not worth the risk to me (is it possible? probably...). I removed my RSL a year before before I started flying camera, after it disconnected itself during a cutaway (I finished EP's anyway, obviously), I decided I didn't need it anymore, especially after it failed to work the only time I needed it to. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Hey Sam, will be nice to finally flock with you, we were supposed to meet @ Eloy 2004 for the balloon loads, remember? If I had to guess, the only place you will find flockers on a weekday is Zhills, and most Z-flockers are going to be getting ready lo leave for Puerto Rico on the 7th (myself included). Maybe if you're lucky there will be one or two there on Monday the 6th, but I sort of doubt it. Maybe some of the flockers from the Pyro Vixen boogie will linger at Seb for a day or two, who knows... www.WingsuitPhotos.com

I have an HC90 and have made several posts about it, a couple of them including links to videos I've made using the camera. I am happy with it. Here is a search that will lead you to my posts. Especially read the one in the "HD Camera" thread, and the one in the wingsuit forum. IIRC, the lens threads are 30mm. That info is all over the web though (SONY.COM, for example). www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Again, not a specific answer, but all the Otters @ Zhills only have one pilot. Hell, every Otter I've been on, anywhere, had only one pilot... www.WingsuitPhotos.com -

Thanks for the answer. Makes sense. Just for clarification, I was not referring to groundspeed anywhere in my post. www.WingsuitPhotos.com -
Collapses and Turbulence: Article
The111 replied to BrianSGermain's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Brian, I've read your reasons for recommending a high airspeed to combat turbulence. I'm curious what you think of this idea (another justification for high airspeed). One day at a large boogie I watched a helicopter take off over and over again and fly right over a treeline where I knew there was a lot of windshear (it was a windy day). The aircraft did not even wobble. The conclusion I came to is that because of the extremely high airspeed of the blades, a +/- 20mph variation in wind (for example) simply wouldn't be very noticeable, in a case where the average airspeed is so much higher. Example: A wing flying at 5mph loses 5mph of its headwind. Big deal. A wing flying at 50mph loses 5mph of its headwind. Not a big deal. Does that theory make sense to you? Just to satisfy my own curiosity. -
Haha, I felt silly because the song started going through my head when I read the thread title, so I figured I'd check it out to see what it was *actually* about... www.WingsuitPhotos.com
