  1. You did better than we did in Puerto Rico (video in my sig). We were stupid and got the plane way too far from the formation and had to max out to get there. The best I could do was go by about 30 feet low. BUT I did roll over on my back and continue to watch it from underneath. Your video was cool. One of those guys who broke away early and was zooming side to side with his canopy would have made me nervous... looks like he was almost coming for you at the end - if he had started that swoop to the left a little earlier it looks as if he would have cut you off and you'd have had to abort. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  2. HOW WAS I NOT AWARE OF THIS? www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  3. Perry's jumping an HC1. I've seen quite a few of these being jumped around the country in the past 6 months, but I have not seen anybody jumping an HC3 (which just hit the shelves, or is going to as far as I know). www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  4. You don't need to actually jump with the lens to figure out the FOV. Go into a camera store with your DVcam and wide lens. And bring your 350D. Ask the salesman if you can try a lens on your camera and see how it matches up with the DV FOV by aiming at the wall or something. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  5. He has a website at www.sprinc.org but it seems to be down right now. View Google's cached version here to see his contact info (bottom of page). www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  6. 2.3MP is FAR inferior to 35mm film. "Professional" digital photographers shoot anywhere from 8-15MP, I'd say. Somewhere in that range, your quality becomes roughly equivalent to film. I've heard estimates thrown out there before, I think maybe 13MP was the number I heard. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

    V-2?

What about two people make a rodeo exit off a fixed object. During the flight the passenger dismounts and deploys his/her own parachute. Would that technically be a skydive for the passenger? www.WingsuitPhotos.com

    V-2?

I think the caption was supposed to say "Special Ted flying a Vampire". www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  9. Hmm, some of my favorite movies work very well. The Shawshank Erection Eternal Erection of the Spotless Mind The Big Erection (Lebowski...) www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  10. Anybody who knows Harry Parker may be amused by this picture... www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  11. I'd like to send a shout out ("tweetings") to all my British friends from the weekend. Pentagram, Pentagon and Pantomime: you guys all rock! I hope I didn't miss anybody, but I'm sure Omar will cover any others I left out. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  12. That is a very cool video. I really like the intro. Thanks. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  13. I have heard the Sony (which one) is pretty good. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  14. You can get a brand new HC96, shipped, for under $600. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  15. It's not SP... it's SB. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  16. There are reasons I stay away from the bonfire. They are the same reasons (to a lesser extent) that some skydivers stay away from dropzone.com in general. The stuff on here is asinine at times. Seriously, come on. A post on a public internet forum whining that you are not getting laid? And then calling someone who is getting laid a liar? What exactly is your intent here? www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  17. You've got to be kidding me... pretty much everything Avery said made me chuckle somehow. I'd like to see those pics... I also liked that bird a LOT. So much I was reading about them for an hour this morning and spent a long time trying to decide if one would survive in my apartment with two cats. I have never in my life wanted a pet bird before, but that little guy was awesome, smart, and friendly. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  18. If you're referring to picture #3, that's not who you think it is... he is further up out of frame. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  19. A few teaser pics from Friday.
  20. Here's some pictures of the two jumps we did before sunset.
  21. I do not have my camera with me now, but I seem to remember the battery meter only having 3 states: empty, "half full", and full. It bothers me when a device does not have better resolution on the battery meter than this. When it reaches the middle state, I have no idea how much longer I have before it fully dies. Does anybody know of any way to more accurately gauge the remaining life? www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  22. Some pics I took recently here. Some would make good wallpapers, particularly #5, 6, and 10. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  23. Your definition of tight may not be the same as mine. The DeLand bigway is one of the tightest I've seen (picture in this year's Flock & Dock PDF, available somewhere in this thread), but it was still not as tight as I'd like to see. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  24. Around 25, but it was not tight throughout. I have never seen larger than a 10 way TIGHT. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
